Chapter Ninety-Nine: Second Interrogation

At the same time, his right hand unconsciously clenched the hem of his clothes and rubbed it vigorously.

When people lie, they usually try to hide their true thoughts, avoiding eye contact with the person asking the question, and even unconsciously touching a certain part of their body.

These subtle movements reveal their inner fear and avoidance, and are not easily observed by observant people.

Of course, this problem wouldn't occur with specially trained professional spies. They have strong psychological qualities and are very good at concealing themselves, making it difficult for the interrogator to judge their true intentions!

Ning Zhiheng's chilling gaze pierced Cui Er's mind like a sharp sword, making Cui Er dare not utter a sound, and the muscles on his face twitched involuntarily.

Ning Zhiheng stepped forward and stomped on Cui Er's head, pressing it firmly against the ground with a huge rock. It looked as if it would crack open at any moment.

Ning Zhiheng said coldly, "If you won't listen to reason, you'll have to suffer the consequences!"

After a moment, Ning Zhiheng turned to Liu Datong and said, "This kid is lying! That tenant named Dong Chengjie was so scared that he moved out the next day just because he lost some money. Losing money isn't illegal. It must be that Cui Er stole something that is very important to him, but something that can't be exposed to the public!"

Then he said to Lao Liao, who was waiting nearby, "Bring out your best methods. Don't be afraid to kill someone. I need his confession right now."

Hearing Ning Zhiheng's words, Lao Liao's spirits lifted. This was a golden opportunity to show off in front of Commander Ning! If he performed well, he could transform himself from a chicken into a phoenix, just like that Sergeant Liu—no! Liu Datou!

Thinking of this, my heart warmed, and I quickly agreed loudly and rushed out of the cell.

Hearing Ning Zhiheng's words, Liu Datou felt a surge of resentment. This Cui Er was dishonest; even with one of his legs broken, he still dared to hide things from him, causing him to lose face in front of Commander Ning.

If Commander Ning hadn't personally come to interrogate him, Cui Er would have gotten away with it. He was furious and secretly planned to deal with Cui Er severely later and take his life!

Soon, Lao Liao and a prison guard came in carrying a large basin of water and a thick stack of kraft paper.

Ning Zhiheng understood immediately. This was a punishment often seen in movies and TV dramas from his previous life, called "sticking official hats on a plaster."

The so-called "adding official" method involved tightly fixing the prisoner's limbs and head, then gently soaking manila paper in water and applying it to the prisoner's face, layer by layer. With each additional layer of paper, the prisoner's breathing was sealed off more completely. As more and more papers were added and the time it took to seal the face, the prisoner, unable to breathe even a drop of air, would suffocate to death.

This punishment inflicts excruciating pain on prisoners, akin to being buried alive in a coffin and suffocating to death. The despair and agony are utterly unbearable. Often, due to prolonged suffocation, prisoners are accidentally killed. The punishment may seem simple, but it is incredibly cruel!

When Cui Er saw the prison guards bring out the basin of water and a stack of brown paper, he turned pale with fright. He had heard of this kind of torture before, and even knew that it could suffocate a person to death. He was terrified.

A long, drawn-out wail: "Sir, sir, I'll talk, I'll talk! Please, I'll tell you everything, please spare me! Spare me!"
