Chapter 3 Cultivation

The next morning, Jiang Wanwan slowly woke up. She slowly opened her eyes, and her vision gradually cleared, revealing the reddish-brown wooden ceiling above her.

Jiang Wanwan blinked, trying to clear her mind, but her thoughts remained as chaotic as paste.

She tried hard to recall what happened last night, but could only remember some vague fragments and broken dreams.

Suddenly jolted awake, Jiang Wanwan immediately jumped out of bed, looked herself up and down, and saw that her clothes were a little wrinkled and smelled a bit sour, but her pants and shoes were still there, so she breathed a sigh of relief.

Jiang Wanwan looked around the room, thinking to herself that it seemed to be the place the boy from last night had brought her here. The room was filled with Tibetan cultural atmosphere—retro, elegant, and grand.

Jiang Wanwan found a piece of hotel paper from the Dongzang Grand Hotel under the nearby sheepskin lamp. It had been scrawled in pencil:

I really didn't know where to take you, so I took you to a hotel. Don't worry, I've already paid. Young lady, don't go out drinking alone next time; you won't always meet kind people!

Signature: Yan Ziyan.

Jiang Wanwan casually folded the note and stuffed it into her pocket. She carefully recalled her actions from the previous night, and her toes involuntarily twitched.

Okay! I won't drink it again next time. But this Yan Ziyan is really a good person; it seems there are still many good people in this world!

Completely unaware that he had been friend-zoned, Yan Ziyan was lying in the grass, intently watching a furtive figure ahead, when suddenly his nose started to itch. He tried hard to resist scratching it.

After Jiang Wanwan got home, her phone had just been plugged in when someone called.

"Dad!" Jiang Wanwan's eyes welled up with tears when she saw her father's phone call.

Upon hearing his daughter's sweet, soft voice, Jiang Dahe smiled so broadly his eyes almost closed, and he immediately invited her to have dinner with him.

But as soon as she heard that her daughter was having trouble at work, she asked a few simple questions and then quickly changed the subject, saying that her mother missed her and wanted them to go home together to visit.

Jiang Wanwan thought it would be good to go back and visit her mother, and take this opportunity to think about what kind of job she could do in the future.

After hanging up the phone, Jiang Wanwan walked along, reminiscing about the warm times she spent with her mother, her heart filled with emotion and longing.

She had just finished reminiscing and was about to take a shower when she slipped and fell flat on her face as soon as she entered the bathroom. Luckily, she reacted quickly and grabbed the sink to steady herself.

Jiang Wanwan slowly straightened up, patted her chest, and exhaled.

When I turned on the shower, whether it was due to high water pressure or something else, with a loud bang, the showerhead started circling up and down in the bathroom like a snake.

Jiang Wanwan was completely bewildered. She wiped the water off her face and calmly turned off the water. The showerhead, which had been dancing so enthusiastically, suddenly fell from mid-air as if the power had been cut off, hitting Jiang Wanwan's already swollen left ankle.

Jiang Wanwan clutched her ankle, grimacing for a moment before deciding to go outside to recover.

As soon as she wrapped herself in a bath towel and walked into the living room, she slipped and fell flat on her face, hitting her head on the corner of the table. Blood dripped onto the floor tiles and spread out in slow motion, and the whole world went silent.

"This alcohol is too strong!" Jiang Wanwan muttered as she slowly slumped down.

"Are you sure you're not enemies? Look at those feet, swollen like pig's trotters, and look at that forehead, isn't it disfigured?"

"Shut up! If you don't help, we're both finished!" Sunlight streamed in through the window, casting dappled light on Jiang Wanwan's pale face, and the crimson jade pendant around her neck was slowly wriggling.

"Are you sure this girl is the one mentioned in the prophecy?" As soon as he finished speaking, a gust of wind blew by, and the blood on Jiang Wanwan's forehead flowed even more freely, as if drawn by some mysterious force. The blood flowed down her cheeks and all the way to the jade pendant she wore around her neck.

Instantly, the jade pendant emitted a strange light, followed by a dense red mist that emerged from it and quickly enveloped Jiang Wanwan.

Upon seeing this, the ancient-clad man floating to the side couldn't help but exclaim in surprise: "Huh? You actually helped her cleanse her meridians and marrow! That's truly extremely rare..."

His gaze was fixed on the red mist, his eyes gleaming with curiosity. You see, in this degenerate age of spiritual depletion, helping someone cleanse their meridians and marrow is extremely dangerous.

Cleansing the meridians and marrow can remove impurities from the body and improve one's physical constitution, but it is extremely difficult and dangerous to implement.

"Shut up! I'm going into slumber. Don't forget the conditions I set for taking you in!"

"I'm not an ungrateful person, so you can sleep soundly. I'll take this disciple as my apprentice!"

When Jiang Wanwan woke up again, the room was filled with an indescribable smell. Looking down at herself, she was covered in black mud, and she almost fainted again.

Upon seeing the perfectly normal showerhead in the bathroom, Jiang Wanwan, while scrubbing away the dirt, concluded that the house was haunted; she should move, and move today.

After scrubbing off the dirt, Jiang Wanwan seemed to remember something. She looked at her feet, then at her face. Her skin was clean and smooth, without a single red mark. It was even smoother and whiter than before. This couldn't be right! Something was definitely fishy!

The next morning, Jiang Wanwan couldn't wait to embark on her journey back to Yangjia Village. She clutched a blue-covered book tightly in her hand, seemingly immersed in a dreamlike state.

What happened last night was like a bizarre dream to her. She inexplicably gained a personal space and a master named Elder Xia.

All of this made Jiang Wanwan feel both excited and confused. She didn't know what this portable space and Elder Xia meant, but deep down she had a strong urge to explore its secrets.

Sitting in the car, Jiang Wanwan's thoughts drifted. She gently stroked the book cover, feeling the mysterious aura it exuded.

As the car bumped along, Jiang Wanwan's feelings became increasingly complicated.

"Dad! Do you believe that there are cultivators in this world?" Jiang Wanwan asked Jiang Dahe, who was sitting next to her, nervously.

"I believe you!" Jiang Dahe joked, looking at his daughter who had been sullen all morning.

Jiang Wanwan's eyes lit up, and she asked excitedly, "Really? Dad, you've seen it before?"

"Yes, I once saw an old lady with emanating spiritual energy lying in the middle of the road, and no one within a ten-meter radius dared to approach her!"

Jiang Wanwan laughed shamelessly, instantly abandoning her thoughts of the space and her master. She'd just take it one step at a time and have a good talk with that unscrupulous master when she got back to the village.
