The small restaurant didn't have any power banks or Apple chargers, so Jiang Wanwan had no choice but to call her father, who was in City C on business, for help. She was also glad that her father arrived just in time.
Jiang Wanwan borrowed the shop owner's phone, silently recited the number, and then dialed it. The phone rang twice before being answered.
"Dad!" Jiang Wanwan shouted at the top of her lungs, about to complain about her bad luck.
The other person paused for a moment before saying, "Young lady, you've dialed the wrong number!"
Did she dial the wrong number? Jiang Wanwan stared blankly at her phone for a long time before her alcohol-numbed brain slowly came to its senses.
"I'm sorry, I dialed the wrong number!" Jiang Wanwan apologized softly, then quickly hung up the phone.
Jiang Wanwan silently repeated the phone number twice more before dialing it again. A few seconds later, she heard the person's voice again.
"Little sister, you dialed the wrong number again!"
The other party hung up the phone after speaking.
Seeing this, the shop owner standing nearby asked, "Do you remember your mother's phone number?"
"Mom isn't here!" Jiang Wanwan began to sob. Her mother was still in Yangjia Village, a million miles away. If her father hadn't come to City C on business, she wouldn't know who to call.
The shop owner paused for a moment, then asked in a low voice, "Do you live nearby?"
Jiang Wanwan nodded quickly and replied, "Yes!"
The boss took the phone, looked at Jiang Wanwan's unsteady figure, and frowned, saying, "I'll find someone to take you home. You can bring me the meal money tomorrow!"
Jiang Wanwan nodded softly in agreement, her eyes blurry with drunkenness.
The boss called his son and asked him to come over and help take the person home.
Jiang Wanwan waited at the restaurant entrance, resting her chin on her hand. Perhaps because it was the first time she had drunk alcohol and been exposed to the wind, her head was becoming increasingly dizzy, and she almost fell asleep several times while leaning against the glass door.
Much later, someone walked up to Jiang Wanwan and said with a smile, "Little girl!"
Jiang Wanwan looked up in a daze and saw a handsome boy standing in front of her, his hands on his knees and leaning over to look at her.
After a few seconds of confusion, Jiang Wanwan realized: "You're the boss's son?"
He seemed to pause for a moment, then said with a wry smile, "I'm a friend of the boss's son!"
The boss standing next to him also looked apologetic: "I'm sorry to trouble you again, Xiao Yan."
I originally wanted to ask my son to come and help, but he had an urgent task and couldn't leave, so I had to ask his colleague to come and help.
"Little girl, let's go!"
"I'm not a little girl!" Jiang Wanwan stood up unsteadily, puffing out her chest to prove her innocence.
A snicker came from behind her. Jiang Wanwan turned around and realized that the boy hadn't come alone; there was another person standing at the shop entrance, presumably his friend. That person was now smiling at her.
A gust of wind blew, and Jiang Wanwan instantly lost most of her drunkenness. Her face flushed, and she instinctively put her hands in front of her chest. She stammered, "I was talking about age!"
The boy chuckled and said "Mmm!", then took off his jacket and draped it over Jiang Wanwan, saying, "Let's go! I'll take you home!"
Jiang Wanwan tightened her coat around her shoulders and followed behind him.
It has to be said that drunk people are less vigilant, and Jiang Wanwan actually left with the two strange boys.
Fortunately, the small restaurant where I ate was near my apartment complex, only a ten-minute walk away.
However, even during this short journey of just over ten minutes, Jiang Wanwan encountered a minor accident.
Having drunk quite a bit on her first drinking session, Jiang Wanwan tried her best to walk in a straight line, but she still wobbled and stumbled, eventually falling into the roadside bushes and twisting her ankle.
The boy hurriedly pulled Jiang Wanwan out of the roadside bushes, squatted down, looked helpless, raised his eyebrows, and clicked his tongue.
Jiang Wanwan stood up with the boy's help, only to find that her left foot was in excruciating pain whenever she put any weight on it.
Suddenly, darkness fell in front of her as the boy squatted down in front of Jiang Wanwan, blocking some of the streetlight's light. Then, his soft voice came: "Get on! I'll carry you!"
Perhaps Jiang Wanwan was drunk. Despite the cacophony of noise around her under the streetlights, she could still hear her own heartbeat.
Jiang Wanwan swallowed hard. This scene was somewhat like an idol drama, but unfortunately, she had no money in her pocket and no dating funds, so she couldn't afford to date.
Jiang Wanwan barely suppressed the flutter in her heart and pounced on his back without hesitation, then lay face down on the ground.
A low chuckle sounded above her head, but it was quickly suppressed. Then, Jiang Wanwan felt a warmth on her wrist, and she was carefully pulled up.
The boy looked down, a smile playing on his lips, and said, "Don't go out drinking alone next time, especially at night, it's too dangerous!"
His friend, standing nearby, sneered mercilessly: "Alright! You're the one who's in the most danger, okay?"
The boy rolled his eyes, then bowed down to Jiang Wanwan again and patted her on the shoulder in acknowledgment.
Jiang Wanwan was quite bold; emboldened by the alcohol, she leaned over.
The boy picked up Jiang Wanwan and stood up. He exclaimed "Eh!" before slowly walking forward.
Jiang Wanwan focused intently on directing the way while clinging to the boy: left turn, right turn, and then right turn again. A dozen minutes later, the three of them stared at each other, bewildered, at the dead end in front of them.
Looking at the dark alleyway in front of her, Jiang Wanwan slurred, "I misremembered! It might be a left turn."
The boy rubbed his temples, first carrying Jiang Wanwan out of the dead end, then asked, "Just tell me the name of your neighborhood! I'll find it myself!"
Jiang Wanwan frowned and thought for a long time before saying, "I can't remember!"
The boy seemed somewhat helpless, and then said, "I'm quite familiar with this area. Try to recall it; even if you only remember two words, I can find it."
So Jiang Wanwan leaned on the boy's shoulder and tried hard to remember, and she actually remembered two words: "garden!"
The boy looked annoyed, while his friend laughed and watched the show with his arms crossed.
The boy rubbed his temples with one hand and then asked, "There are Qiming Garden, Jinjiang Garden, and Xidi Garden around here. Which garden is yours?"
Jiang Wanwan felt extremely dizzy, especially after he circled around her several times in the garden. She felt a tightness in her chest and couldn't help but vomit on him as soon as she opened her mouth.
The most frightening thing was the sudden silence. Jiang Wanwan, half asleep, leaned on his shoulder and heard only the exclamations of him and his friends.
After vomiting, Jiang Wanwan felt much better, but she still couldn't think straight. She turned her head to the side and fell asleep against him.
