Chapter 5 Black Dragon

Until she could shed no more tears, she stared blankly at the beads scattered on the ground, mechanically collecting them all and swallowing them. Dragons' stomachs can hold a lot of things; many high-grade Qiankun bags are made from dragon stomachs.

She now has her parents' two dragon balls, a bunch of mermaid tears, and some trinkets she had saved up before. She has never been used to carrying all her wealth on her person, so she has almost nothing to bribe the old dragon with.

In the pitch-black abyss, there was no sun, moon, or stars, making it impossible for Wei Jiao to distinguish the passage of time. She shed no more tears; she cried herself to sleep, her mind a jumbled mess.

When she woke up again, nothing had changed. She was still in a daze, unable to accept the reality.

Two Dragon Balls came to her side, giving her spiritual energy and warmth.

Looking at the two Dragon Balls, she thought: she could take responsibility for that woman's death, but what crimes had her parents committed? If she couldn't get out, her parents would surely die because of losing the Dragon Balls. She had never done anything for her parents before, and her parents had never asked anything of her, but she couldn't drag them down with her.

"I must get out of here as soon as possible!"

So she began to cultivate day and night. The spiritual energy here was really weak, but she could still develop more of her potential.

Being in the abyss also had its advantages. There was no interference from any external objects, and no lightning tribulations struck this place. She already had more than a thousand years of cultivation, and with the assistance of the two dragon pearls, she didn't know how much time had passed before Wei Jiao finally broke through the bottleneck and became a dragon. Because the abyss was so low, there was no aura at all, so her transformation into a dragon was silent. After shedding her skin once, she had two dragon horns.

She was originally a blackish-purple dragon, but after cultivating into a dragon, she directly transformed into a black dragon.

Dragons generally come in five colors: black, white, blue, yellow, and red. Lower-ranking dragons may also have impure colors.

Dragons, as highly evolved beings, place great importance on bloodlines, with those possessing pure-colored bloodlines generally considered more powerful. Different colors represent different ancestors, although all dragons trace their ancestry back to the ancestral dragon.

However, the ancestral dragon produced different offspring with different races, resulting in branches of the dragon bloodline. The colors of the dragons can also reflect their other half of their ancestors.

For example, black is close to the demon race, cyan is close to the monster race, white is close to the celestial race, yellow is close to the human race, and red is close to the bird race.

Different dragon clans have very different marriage partners. They don't just look for other dragons within their own clan, but rather for races that are close to them. However, the human race has changed drastically since ancient times, and the Heavenly Laws prohibit intermarriage between other races and humans, so yellow dragons are becoming increasingly rare.

Shuoyuan is a yellow dragon, which means that his ancestors had human blood.

Similarly, after the demons retreated into the demon realm, the number of black dragons also decreased significantly.

It's quite unbelievable that Wei Jiao's father was a green dragon and his mother was a white dragon, yet they gave birth to a purple dragon that had cultivated into a black dragon.

Wei Jiao looked at her body with great confusion. She was more likely to cultivate into an Azure Dragon, like her father, but instead she became a Black Dragon. Black Dragons are known for their tyranny and bad temper, and they have a bad reputation among the Dragon Clan, making them the type to be ostracized. However, Black Dragons only speak with strength and have never cared about such things.

She felt that becoming a black dragon wouldn't be bad; at least if she had powerful magic, she could get out of there as soon as possible.

She was a little happy. Her parents had been looking forward to it for a long time and had been worried about her. Now she had finally succeeded.

At the same time, the two dragon balls dimmed considerably. She was very anxious, so she transformed into a dragon and flew out of her cave, swimming upstream. She had already cultivated into a dragon, and was the strongest black dragon among the dragons. So, was it possible to leave this place?

She didn't succeed; in fact, she felt the pressure from the seawater was even greater. She hadn't noticed it while in the cave, but after coming out, the higher she swam, the greater the pressure became. Eventually, she lost her sense of direction and experienced excruciating pain all over her body.

She wanted to cry, but she controlled herself, slowly relaxed her body, and let herself slowly fall back to the vicinity of that black cliff.

She wanted to find the black dragon, but the black dragon's cave was too complicated for her to find.

Out of desperation, she came up with the stupidest and riskiest solution: she released her parents' and her own dragon balls, activated them with her magic, and made them emit intense light and huge spiritual energy fluctuations, like bait thrown into a pond.

Sure enough, not long after, a huge black dragon appeared.

His enormous eyes were half-closed, as if unable to adjust to the bright light: "You brat, you've actually cultivated into a black dragon, not bad. But what do you mean by this? Are you going to give me the dragon pearl to eat?"

She transformed into human form and knelt before the Black Dragon Spirit. Her appearance had changed drastically; she was no longer the same as when the Black Dragon Spirit first met her. The Black Dragon Spirit scrutinized her for a long time and asked, "What do you mean by this?"

Wei Jiao activated his Dragon Ball and arrived in front of the Black Dragon. He hid his parents' two Dragon Balls behind his back and said, "Senior, my power is too weak, and I probably can't get out of here. But I must give my parents' Dragon Balls away. You can eat my Dragon Balls and use my body to increase your power, but please help me take the Dragon Balls out of here."

The Black Dragon Spirit looked at her. He had just been wondering whether to snatch the three dragon balls, but now that she had said that, he was hesitant to do so.

"I recently collected a lot of mermaid tears. I have already cultivated into a dragon. These are the last of myrmaid tears, and I'm giving them all to you." As she spoke, she channeled her energy and spat out all the mermaid tears she had hidden. They were larger and rounder than the previous ones, and under the dim light in the cave, they shone with an even more enchanting glow.

The Black Dragon Spirit was in a dilemma as he looked at the glittering beads. Although he could simply ignore her, snatch them, and eat her, she might self-destruct before that could happen. Moreover, if he completely disregarded the deceased's last wishes, he would also be in trouble.

Black Dragon Spirit swallowed hard, struggled with his thoughts, and finally said nothing, turned and left. She understood perfectly and followed him.

She knew every step she had taken was dangerous. The black dragon spirit had said from the beginning that he could eat any creature he threw down, and he could swallow her at any moment, like a delicious meal. She couldn't get out on her own; she could only gamble, gamble with her life, to find out the black dragon spirit's intentions towards her. If the black dragon spirit could keep her, she would still have hope of getting out. If she lost the gamble, then the three of them would meet again on the road to the underworld, and she had nothing to fear.

In the end, the black dragon gave up his plan to eat her, so she no longer had to worry about being swallowed whole while she was cultivating.

She received the first good news since arriving here, and she was overjoyed. "Mother, as long as there's a glimmer of hope, I won't give up. I will persevere. You must wait for me!"
