Chapter 38 Tastier than I imagined

The viewers who were just waiting in the live stream to watch the battle against the red-clad female ghost were all stunned.

"Damn it! He really is a scammer!"

"What's going on? Why are the police here? Are they actors?"

"Don't underestimate this just because it's a live stream. These two acted so realistically. Their wall-climbing speed was amazing, and they even prepared their fight scenes meticulously. They really put a lot of effort into it! I love watching it."

"I mean, is it possible that this is part of the script, and they might not have rented a villa, so they could only act this far?"

"Looks like the performance is over for today!"

The live stream was shut down as soon as the netizen posted the message.

Su Miaomiao stayed on the live stream until it was shut down.

I don't know how these two discovered the Enchantress, but they were quite bold. If they had really gone to catch the red-clad ghost, they would probably be long gone by now.

A short while later, the driver called.

"Young Miss, those two have been taken away, but..."

He hesitated, somewhat worried that what he said would frighten Su Miaomiao.

"But what? They won't admit to trespassing?"

"No! Those two said there was one inside the villa..."

"The woman in red, is that it? They're lying, don't pay them any mind! If it were real, Master He would have taken care of it long ago."

Su Miaomiao took over the conversation.

"What the young lady says is true!" He was finally relieved.

Inside the detention room, the master and apprentice looked at each other, both quite dejected.

"Master, we're going to be locked up for three days."

"...Sigh! Hopefully, the people inside the villa can hold out until we get out..."

...

The next morning, Su Miaomiao went to the hospital with her fifth uncle.

"Fifth Uncle, I'm going to the ward to check on that person from yesterday."

"Go ahead! My office is on the third floor. Come up after you've seen the patient."

After agreeing, Su Miaomiao went to the inpatient department.

Pushing open the ward door, I saw Ling Jingchen leaning against the hospital bed, his head turned towards the window. Sunlight fell perfectly on the black silk ribbon on his face, making him look incredibly beautiful and fragile.

However, he wasn't the only one in the ward; there was also a little boy sitting obediently on a stool, holding a steamed bun.

The sound of her pushing the door made both the adult and the child turn their heads to look at him.

"Are you the sister who brought my brother to the hospital?"

The little boy blinked his big eyes and asked.

"Sister, you've come!"

Ling Jingchen tried to get out of bed, but after standing up, he slumped back down, clutching his head.

"You should sit down. I reckon you got a concussion yesterday. Is this kid your brother?"

Su Miaomiao walked over and patted the little boy on the head.

"Yes! He's my younger brother. Thanks to my sister for helping me yesterday, otherwise they would have taken me away."

"Don't mention it! After all, I'm kind-hearted and can't bear to see anyone in trouble."

Su Miaomiao praised herself without batting an eye.

"Thank you, sister, for saving my brother!"

The little boy didn't notice anything unusual about his brother and obediently bowed to thank him.

You're welcome! Do you only eat steamed buns for breakfast?

Su Miaomiao estimated that the little boy looked to be only three or four years old, with chubby cheeks, but his skin had an unhealthy white tinge.

The little boy nodded, stretched out his little arm, and handed the steamed bun to Su Miaomiao.

"Sister, eat!"

Su Miaomiao had eaten breakfast before leaving home in the morning, so she wasn't hungry at the moment, but she was still charmed by the little boy's adorable appearance.

"I'm not hungry, but has your brother had breakfast?"

"My brother doesn't eat."

How can I not eat?

Su Miaomiao glanced at Ling Jingchen and felt that he looked even paler than when she saw him yesterday.

I guess it's because it's hungry!

She immediately contacted the restaurant and had breakfast delivered.

"Sister, I'm not hungry..."

As Ling Jingchen spoke, he subtly inhaled, the room filled with Su Miaomiao's sweet fragrance, constantly tempting him.

Hunger assaulted his reason like a ferocious beast, and his stomach ached faintly.

His lips were dry, and he could only lick them lightly. His eyes, hidden beneath the black ribbon, subtly swept over Su Miaomiao's fair neck.

It is the best dining etiquette to start eating here.

He hadn't eaten in so long, he really wanted to eat her!

But, it's not enough!

Ling Jingchen tightened his fingers, his nails digging into his palm, the stinging sensation clearing his mind.

Su Miaomiao ignored what Ling Jingchen said.

In her opinion, he looked like he was about to faint.

This family really had a miserable life in the book!

A short while later, there was a knock on the ward door; it was the breakfast she had just ordered.

"Miss, please enjoy your meal!"

Su Miaomiao had just taken the breakfast when she heard the enchanting woman shouting beside her.

“Master, that person is the woman I saw yesterday! The walls of her room are covered with pictures of your fifth uncle.”

Upon hearing this, Su Miaomiao immediately looked up.

A long-haired woman wearing a white floral dress happened to pass by the ward.

When she saw Su Miaomiao, she paused for a moment, then walked over happily.

"Are you a big star? Can you sign your autograph for me?"

The person looked at her expectantly, full of sincerity, but Su Miaomiao sensed an icy glint in her eyes, as if she wanted to kill her.

With a little thought, one can guess why she hates me; she probably sees me as a little vixen who seduced Uncle Wu.

"Okay! Where should I sign?"

Su Miaomiao handed breakfast to Ling Jingchen, who was walking over, and gestured for him to go eat first.

"Just sign here, I brought a notebook and pen."

As she spoke, she opened her bag and took out a notebook and a pen.

Perhaps due to excessive excitement, the moment she took out the notebook, a small item from her bag also flew out and headed straight for Su Miaomiao.
