96. Reconciliation

Jin Qizhi appeared much calmer: "Don't panic, keep writing."

When Jiang Xiyue and Bei Dinghou opened the study door, they saw their two sons writing furiously, their youngest daughter sleeping soundly on a soft couch, and the room was a bit messy.

"It's so late, why aren't you asleep yet?" Jiang Xiyue asked in surprise.

The second brother was so nervous that his palms were sweating, but Jin Qizhi calmly stood up and said, "Mother, I was teaching Lizhi to practice calligraphy and I accidentally forgot the time."

Marquis Beiding looked at the papers spread out on the table: "This is... the policy essay you wrote some time ago?"

“Yes,” Jin Qizhi said without changing his expression, “I was thinking that since this policy essay is due tomorrow, I’ll have Lizhi try to copy it and study it.”

Marquis Beiding approached and examined the handwriting, his brow furrowing slightly upon seeing his second elder brother's: "This handwriting..."

“Father,” Jin Qizhi said quickly, “Li Zhi is just starting to learn, and his writing isn’t very good yet, but he’s very serious.”

The second brother lowered his head, and the tips of his ears turned red.

He didn't expect his older brother to protect him like that, and he felt both guilty and touched.

Jiang Xiyue walked to the soft couch and gently stroked Jin Lanyue's face: "Why is Yue'er sleeping here?"

“She insisted on staying with us,” the second brother whispered, “but she fell asleep first.”

Marquis Beiding glanced at the three children, his gaze lingering for a moment on Jin Qizhi's slightly tired face: "It's getting late, go and rest. Qizhi, you can finish your homework tomorrow."

"good."

Jiang Xiyue picked up the sleeping little dumpling and said softly, "Lizhi, go to sleep too. You can practice calligraphy again tomorrow."

After their parents left, the second brother let out a long sigh of relief and slumped into his chair: "That scared me to death..."

Jin Qizhi tidied up the papers on the table: "Keep writing, we're almost done."

"Big brother," the second brother suddenly grabbed his elder brother's sleeve, his voice muffled, "I'm sorry... I shouldn't have scribbled on your policy essay, and made you stay up all night to rewrite it."

Jin Qizhi paused for a moment, then rubbed his head: "It's good that you know you were wrong. I also had my faults; I shouldn't have said those harsh words to you back then. Come on, let's finish copying this last part, and then go to sleep."

The two children buried themselves in writing for a while longer, and finally finished their policy essays.

Jin Qizhi carefully folded the paper and blew out the candle.

"Let's go." He stretched.

The second brother skipped and hopped after him, but after a couple of hops he cried out again, "Big brother, my butt hurts..."

"Serves you right, who told you to cause trouble?" Jin Qizhi said, but slowed down. "Walk slowly, I'll help you."

The next day.

Jin Lanyue woke up in her small bed and rubbed her eyes groggily.

She vaguely remembered falling asleep in her older brother's study last night, but when she opened her eyes, she was back in her own room.

"Moon's awake?" Jiang Xiyue smiled as she lifted the curtain.

The little dumpling jumped up, her face still showing signs of sleep: "Where are my older brother and second older brother?"

“They’re all having breakfast outside,” Jiang Xiyue said as she carried her to the dressing table and braided her hair. “Your two older brothers came to check on you this morning, but they didn’t wake you up since you were asleep.”

The little dumpling's eyes lit up; it seemed that her two older brothers had made up!

She couldn't wait to put on her shoes and flew outside like a happy little butterfly, with Jiang Xiyue following closely behind.

When we arrived at the place for breakfast, my father and two older brothers were there.

Just as Mother said, the two older brothers seem to have made up as before.

“My little sister’s here,” Jin Qizhi beckoned for her to sit down beside her. “Did you sleep well?”

My second brother presented me with a plate of dumplings like a precious treasure: "I saved these especially for you, have a taste!"

Jiang Xiyue looked at the three children enjoying themselves together, her eyes filled with love.

But when I think about certain things, I can't help but sigh.

After hesitating for a long time, she gently stroked her daughter's hair and said softly, "Yue'er, Mother has something to tell you."

A note from the author:

Author: Yes, it's me, wait a minute—(Erkang's hand) Don't go yet.

Author: Yesterday, after seeing the data, I was completely stunned and felt like I just collapsed. I've recovered a little today. This time, I mainly want to chat with the readers and answer some questions.

---

Q: Does the author read comments?

A: Yes, I can read it, but since the author doesn't have an author backend, I can't reply directly. To see the comments, I have to search for them one by one, so it's easy to miss some. Dear readers, you can leave comments on the homepage reviews and at the end of each daily chapter; the author usually sees those.

Q: Can the original female lead's appearance be postponed?

A: Yes, if the reader wishes for the original female lead's appearance to be delayed.

Q: Is the author going to stop writing the book?

A: No, no, no, I really want to write! I love the world I create, but if the results aren't good, the website will ask me to stop writing, so I really need the support of my readers.

Q: How can I provide support?

A: Just a free positive review is fine! If it's convenient, could you also click the free "request for more updates" and "add to bookshelf" buttons? Thank you!

Q: Can I order an author to write a short play I want to see?

A: Yes, that's possible. Just leave a positive review at the end of each chapter or in the book review (not paragraph comments), and the author will write something about it. For example, in a few days, once the main story has progressed a bit, the author will write the short skits about the Emperor, Brother Xie, and the Grand Tutor that were mentioned in the previous comments.

---

Finally, please give me a good review. The author really wants to continue writing and doesn't want the book to be canceled, sob sob...
