Chapter 124 I Miss You Every Day

Although she loosened her grip a little, Lu Ziyin's hand was still loosely resting on Ding Kemeng's shoulder, not for any particular reason, she just didn't want to take it off!

"Is there something you need that you came to see me so late?" Ding Kemeng checked the time before coming downstairs; it was already past ten o'clock at night. Usually, she would be asleep by this time.

The two of them were standing together under the awning in front of someone else's garage, not too close and not too far apart, whispering to each other.

Lu Ziyin moved a few centimeters closer to Ding Kemeng and said, "I missed you, and in a few hours it will be the day you are born..." Lu Ziyin had completely lost his sense of shame and didn't need to be shy in front of his future wife.

Ding Kemeng blushed deeply at Lu Ziyin's blunt words. She opened her mouth, but found herself at a loss for words.

Lu Ziyin smiled and moved closer; now his hand could touch Ding Kemeng's.

“Sweetie, can I hold your hand?” Lu Ziyin suddenly asked.

Before Ding Kemeng could react, her palm felt warm, and her small hand was in Lu Ziyin's big hand, warm and cozy in the rainy night!

Ding Kemeng didn't struggle. "I already said there's no need to celebrate my birthday specially. Besides, didn't you already come to my house and bring me a lot of gifts today..."

“But I didn’t talk to you much during the day.” Lu Ziyin felt wronged when she said this. She had seen the baby all day, but she hadn’t said more than a few words to him.

"My darling, don't you miss me?" He really misses my darling!

“I…” Ding Kemeng looked up and suddenly met Lu Ziyin’s eyes, his dark pupils filled with love.

Ding Kemeng quickly lowered her head again, and after a long while, she whispered, "I miss him." She actually missed Lu Ziyin a lot. She had gotten used to Lu Ziyin sitting next to her all the time, so now whenever she was alone, she couldn't help but think of him.

She wondered what he was doing, whether he had caused trouble again, whether he had lost his temper with someone, and whether... whether he was thinking of her too.

"Really?" Lu Ziyin's eyes sparkled with laughter. She bent down and leaned close to Ding Kemeng's ear, which was slightly red under the streetlight, and whispered, "How much does my little darling miss me? Can you tell me? If you don't tell me, how will I know how much my little darling misses me? Are you lying to me?"

Lu Ziyin's deep voice reached her ears, and a warm breath blew in intermittently. Ding Kemeng shivered all over. She quickly looked up and said, "I miss you. I miss you every day, every single day!" Afraid that Lu Ziyin wouldn't believe her, Ding Kemeng tried her best to look into his eyes to show her sincerity.

Seeing the little girl's earnest expression, Lu Ziyin couldn't help but laugh out loud.

She pulled him into her arms, and Lu Ziyin's laughter reached his ears from above: "Silly baby, I know you missed me, I was just teasing you!"

Ding Kemeng was embraced tightly, but she wasn't annoyed that Lu Ziyin was talking about how he had teased her earlier. She stayed obediently in his arms.

Lu Ziyin's embrace was so warm!

The two chatted for a while longer, until the streetlights started flashing. Ding Kemeng suddenly realized it was getting late, and her face showed some panic. She hurriedly asked, "Ziyin, what time is it? What time is it!"

"Huh?" Lu Ziyin took out her phone and glanced at it. "11:43."

"What's wrong?" Lu Ziyin, who often came home late, didn't think anything was wrong with the time.

Upon hearing the time, Ding Kemeng's face turned pale. "I'm doomed! I told my parents I was just out buying some things and would be right back!" It's so late now, what am I going to do when I get back!

Lu Ziyin realized something was wrong, straightened her expression, and said, "Is coming home late a big deal? Your parents won't scold you, will they? Should I go and tell them that I encouraged you to come out and that you're not allowed to go back?"

Ding Kemeng was amused by Lu Ziyin's words. This reason was really something Lu Ziyin came up with!

"Are you stupid? If you say that, we'll both be in trouble!" Ding Kemeng was too embarrassed to stay tense after Lu Ziyin's interruption.

It's already so late, so going back a little later won't make a difference!

Ding Kemeng, in a fit of desperation, said, "Didn't you say before that you wanted to spend my birthday with me? There are still more than ten minutes left. If you don't mind, how about we stand outside for another ten minutes?"

If Ding Kemeng spent her birthday with Lu Ziyin, she felt that Lu Ziyin was not so resistant anymore. So many years have passed, and she really should move on.

"Okay, let's stay a little longer!" Lu Ziyin couldn't wait for the girl to stay with him. The night breeze was chilly, so Lu Ziyin opened his clothes, half-covering Ding Kemeng, and tightened his arms around her shoulders.

And so, the two of them stood there dumbfounded in front of a stranger's garage, spending two sweet yet tense hours together.

Once midnight had passed, even though Lu Ziyin was reluctant to part with her, he dared not keep the girl any longer. He escorted her into the building and watched her get on the elevator before turning to leave.

When Ding Kemeng returned home, she tried her best to be quiet, fearing that her parents would find out, but she was still discovered.

Mr. and Mrs. Ding did not look too happy. They sat on the sofa, looking at their daughter who was still damp, and said indifferently, "So you know how to come back!"

Ding Kemeng's heart skipped a beat.

"It won't happen again next time."

"You want a next time?!" Ding's mother said angrily.

Ding Kemeng quickly shook her head: "No, it won't happen again!" She was indeed wrong today. She lied and didn't come back until the early hours of the morning. This was the first time in her life that she had done something wrong!

Ding's mother was so angry with her daughter that she gritted her teeth and said, "If you dare to do this again, I'll break your legs!"

Mr. Ding had only intended to teach his daughter a lesson with his wife, but he never expected his wife to be so ruthless. He immediately became anxious: "That won't do! How can you break my precious daughter's legs!"

"What are you interrupting me for!" Ding's mother got angry and launched an indiscriminate attack.

Mr. Ding immediately wilted, pouted, and said, "Even so, you can't hit your daughter. Besides, she's back now. Mengmeng is such a good girl, she definitely won't do it again..."

"You still dare to talk!" Ding's mother roared.

"No, I won't say anymore!" Mr. Ding turned his head away, not daring to argue any further.

At this moment, Ding Kemeng didn't dare to provoke her mother. She lowered her head and apologized profusely: "Mom, I promise, I really won't do it again, really!"

"You!" Ding's mother stood up, nudged her daughter's head with her hand, and said angrily, "You're really driving me crazy!" If she hadn't suddenly remembered and gone to check the bedroom, she probably wouldn't have known that her child had been gone for so long and hadn't come back yet!
