Looking at Zhao Rangwen's awkward demeanor, Gu Li suddenly recalled the words he had said when he first sat next to her, those clumsy and ambiguous expressions of love.
Gu Li tilted her head, her expression curious, but her heart remained calm. "Tell me, what is it?"
Zhao Rangwen's eyes shone brightly, showing a mixture of joy and nervousness as he was about to express his feelings. "Some things seemed abrupt when I said them, but as I've gotten to know you better these past few days, I still want to say it," his face slowly turned red, "You are the most special person I've ever met."
Gu Li met the other person's gaze. "I'm special to you, but you're not so special to me." He emphasized "so special," his tone tinged with regret. "I think you might not be smart enough to know what I want."
His demeanor became arrogant, a wicked smile curving his lips, a smile that was not quite a smile, "What I want, you dare not give me."
Zhao Rangwen said, "Gu Li," a hint of panic in his eyes, "what do you want?"
Gu Li tilted her head. "What do you think?"
A conflicted look appeared in Zhao Rangwen's eyes.
Gu Li caught a glimpse of a figure appearing at the door from the corner of his eye. The figure was reciting his last words, "I don't need false words; actions speak louder than words."
Jiang Xu and Gu Li's eyes met briefly, then he walked towards Gu Li, "Gu Li."
Gu Li ignored him and only looked at Zhao Rangwen. Zhao Rangwen subconsciously looked over, then quickly looked back at Gu Li. Seeing that Gu Li ignored Jiang Xu, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Gu Li only came to class twice this week, both times when Jiang Xu wasn't there. Zhao Rangwen already felt something was wrong, and now he was even more convinced that something unpleasant must have happened on Saturday.
Jiang Xu spoke again, his voice a little louder, "Gu Li!"
Gu Li glanced at it dismissively, "I already told you on Saturday, if you can't do it, then don't bother me."
Zhao Rangwen's expression subtly changed; just as he suspected!
Jiang Xu said, "That really won't work." He frowned, his expression somewhat unpleasant.
Gu Li tilted his head and forced a smile. "There are plenty of people who can do it." After saying that, he turned back to look at Zhao Rangwen expressionlessly. "Rangwen, don't you think so?"
Zhao Rangwen was stunned by the way Gu Li was addressed. Gu Li was actually calling him so affectionately.
Gu Li frowned when he saw that the person opposite him didn't respond. "What a nuisance," he said, a hint of disappointment in his voice, as he looked away. "Then..."
Zhao Rangwen immediately realized, "No..."
Jiang Xu interrupted him, "I agree." He looked at Gu Li with suppressed anger.
Gu Li, "Really?" He tilted his head and looked at Jiang Xu sideways, "Don't back out at the last minute, my patience is running out."
Jiang Xu was silent for two seconds, then said, "Really, let's go."
Zhao Rangwen frowned as he watched the interaction between the two.
Jiang Xu's attitude changed. He was no longer as forceful as before in wanting to take Gu Li away. Instead, he seemed to be trying to compromise.
He looked at it thoughtfully.
Gu Li stepped onto the stool, intending to step over and jump out, when Zhao Rangwen suddenly spoke up, "Gu Li." He wanted to gamble on Gu Li's attitude.
Gu Li stopped what he was doing, looked at Zhao Rangwen, and spoke after thinking for a moment, "Let's talk about it when there's really something wrong." After he finished speaking, he flipped over the back of his chair without hesitation and came to Jiang Xu's side.
Zhao Rangwen looked over and met Jiang Xu's gaze. Jiang Xu's smile was indifferent yet provocative, conveying a clear message: you still have a long way to go.
Gu Li was much more casual this time. After he turned over and went out, he walked straight to the door without even waiting for Jiang Xu.
This prompted Zhao Rangwen to return Jiang Xu's sarcastic smile. He pointed at Gu Li's retreating figure and said, "Hurry up and chase after her, or you won't be able to keep her."
Jiang Xu tilted his head and said, "Go ahead and try." After he finished speaking, he turned around and left, leaving Zhao Rangwen with only his back view.
Zhao Rangwen watched as Jiang Xu caught up a few steps, and the two stood side by side. Jiang Xu put his arm around Gu Li's shoulder, and Gu Li turned her head and said something to him. Jiang Xu then put his arm down.
He thought that the novelty of Gu Li was wearing off, and it was his turn.
Where he couldn't hear, as Jiang Xu approached, Gu Li turned her head to look at him, her expression indifferent, and softly recited, "1.2.1.2.1234........"
Jiang Xu looked ahead with a faint smile on his lips and said, "You should probably improve your lines." He then withdrew his hand.
Gu Li also looked ahead, a faint smile appearing on her lips, "Learning from you, it really saves a lot of effort."
Jiang Xu: "Laziness is the beginning of regression."
Gu Li said, "It's a happy beginning," he said with a relaxed smile, "and the performance will be over soon."
Jiang Xu, "Are you so sure?"
Gu Li said, "As the old saying goes, things don't happen more than three times. You've already performed three times for free. If there's a next time, you can just ask him to pay you."
Jiang Xu: "How cruel of you! You've made Wen so sad."
Gu Li said, "Don't say that, or it will be considered a work injury."
Jiang Xu, "You didn't call him that just now?" His voice was normal. "I guess I didn't imitate it well. Say it again so I can learn."
The two walked down the corridor. Gu Li turned her head to look at Jiang Xu. The light coming through the classroom window added to Jiang Xu's mystique. "Should we go call him after you've finished studying? I don't think that's a good idea." Absolutely not.
Jiang Xu: "No, I simply want to learn from you."
Gu Li said, "Your brother has so many good qualities, and you only heard one word from him. I also mentioned so many other things, such as," At that moment, light shone through the window they were passing by, completely illuminating Jiang Xu, adding a touch of mystery and holiness. He looked at this person and spoke, "Brother Xu." His voice was low and melodious.
Jiang Xu asked, "How do you know I didn't learn anything?" He also looked at Gu Li, who was being roused by a wisp of hair. He reached out and touched the curl at the end of her hair. After Gu Li's attention was diverted, he suddenly spoke, "Brother Li."
The evening breeze blew towards the two of them, blowing the small curls at the ends of their hair a little loose. Gu Li looked at Jiang Xu and asked, "Do you want me to give you a grade to see how you've learned?"
Jiang Xu: "Come on, you speak."
Gu Li: "11 points."
Jiang Xu, "A perfect score of one hundred?"
Gu Li shook her head, "Of course it's 10 points, I'm not confident enough."
Jiang Xu: "Yeah, when I heard that score, I wondered if I hadn't paid enough and was being targeted."
Gu Li, "What if that's the case?"
Jiang Xu said, "Of course," he paused slightly, "I'll stuff some more in." He made a gesture as if to take something.
Gu Li watched Jiang Xu's actions and said with some curiosity, "You really do have something."
Jiang Xu clenched his fist and held it out to Gu Li. "The bribe must be in place." He opened his hand, revealing a small chocolate wrapped in blue foil.
Gu Li picked up the chocolate. "It's worth giving you full marks, brother," he said, unwrapping the chocolate. "You're great."
Jiang Xu: "What is that extra point?"
