Gu Li placed the chocolate on one side, her cheek puffing out slightly. "Doesn't math always have bonus points? Although we don't have any bonus questions, I'll give you bonus points."
Jiang Xu wanted to reach out and poke Gu Li's cheek; that protrusion was really eye-catching. "Aren't you afraid I'll get arrogant?"
Gu Li said, "Be proud all you want, it's no big deal." He then winked at Jiang Xu, "I'm rooting for you."
Jiang Xu: "I think you're trying to flatter me to death."
Gu Li, "Is it that obvious?"
Jiang Xu nodded, "You look like you want to do something bad."
Gu Li said, "I wanted to let you know how treacherous the world is. But your little brother is pretty good; he knew in advance."
Jiang Xu said, "The amount of salt my brother has eaten, although not as much as the amount of rice you've eaten, is about the same as the amount of salt you've eaten."
Gu Li said, “You stopped halfway through your tough talk. Let me set an example for you.” He raised his chin slightly and said, “I’ve walked more roads than you have,” he paused briefly, “and climbed more mountains.”
After listening, Jiang Xu said, "...You understand that emotion trumps content."
Gu Li was in a high mood, but her words were outrageous.
Gu Li smiled and said, "The essence of harsh words is momentum. If you have the right momentum, you're halfway there. Don't you agree?"
Jiang Xu nodded. "I'm planning a school-enterprise cooperation project. We're already in negotiations, and the project will be announced tomorrow. It's for architecture students. Do you want to participate? The prizes are generous!"
Gu Li didn't hesitate at all, "I have no interest in this. Besides, you're paying for human resources, right? It would be a waste of a spot if I participated."
Jiang Xu said, "It might be a waste for others, but with you here, I can save on advertising. Just standing there will help me attract people."
Gu Li said, "It's the same if you stand here, but since you've praised me so much, I'll stand with you for a bit and then I'll just skip the competition."
Jiang Xu: "Okay, can you give me a whole day off for the match this Saturday morning at 10 a.m.?"
Gu Li said, "Of course," he thought for a moment and then said, "When did you start your company? It's already far ahead of us. You can do it."
Jiang Xu: "It's only just taken shape, and you've already opened chain stores."
Gu Li: "Welcome to become a shareholder!"
Jiang Xu: "I welcome you too, investing won't be a loss."
Gu Li, "Are you participating yourself? Or are you participating in the selection process?"
Jiang Xu said, "I guess I'll participate. I'll hang out with the other contestants, observe their performance, and then decide whether to participate in the judging."
Gu Li: "This is truly an invisible pressure on them."
Jiang Xu, "Why don't you come along too?"
Gu Li: "I think it's a good idea."
After agreeing, Gu Li stopped going to class. Once you've made a promise, you have to make up for it with other things.
Zhao Rangwen hadn't seen Gu Li for two days in a row, and he was clearly getting impatient. He had even mustered up the courage to say something, but then Gu Li didn't show up.
Jiang Xu didn't come on Thursday either, but news of a construction competition came out on Thursday, which slightly diverted Zhao Rangwen's attention.
But when Zhao Rangwen didn't see Jiang Xu during the last class on Thursday, he felt something was wrong. Why didn't they come?
He had a suspicion, his mind racing, that he might not have enough courage.
Zhao Rangwen sat in his seat, clutching the competition brochure he had brought. He needed to find an opportunity to let Gu Li discover his strengths.
His academic performance is what he can be most proud of right now.
On Friday morning, Jiang Xu had just sat down when someone came over.
"Jiang Xu," Zhao Rangwen walked up to Jiang Xu and stood next to him, "Why didn't you come to class yesterday?"
Jiang Xu flipped through the book. "What's it to you?"
Zhao Rangwen asked, "Are you with Gu Li?" His tone was very certain.
Upon hearing Gu Li's name, Jiang Xu gave Zhao Rangwen a look, "You already know, why ask? Is that interesting?"
Zhao Rangwen: "Don't think I don't know what you're relying on. Aren't you afraid I'll tell others?"
"Oh?" Jiang Xu raised an eyebrow at Zhao Rangwen. "What did I rely on?"
Zhao Rangwen, "You..." He knew he wouldn't get anything out of him by testing him, but that wasn't his only reason for coming. "Jiang Xu, do you dare to participate in this competition?"
Jiang Xu: "What about me, should I participate or not?"
Zhao Rangwen said, "I will invite Gu Li to come and see. If he knows that you only have one face to look at, do you think he will still let you stand next to him?"
Jiang Xu smiled slightly, "I only have one face to look at?"
His hand rose swiftly, and Zhao Rangwen instinctively dodged, while Jiang Xu tilted his head and leisurely rubbed his wrist. "Looks like you know I have more than one face, huh?"
Zhao Rangwen said, "You...a person who only knows how to use brute force is a brute." His face turned red.
Jiang Xu lowered his hand, shook his head, and said calmly, "I have another advantage that you'd be incredibly envious of."
Zhao Rangwen frowned. "What?"
Jiang Xu smiled gently, "I am very, very, very... rich." Nothing is more ruthless than a gentle knife.
Zhao Rangwen's face darkened. "Who knows if your money is clean or not?"
Jiang Xu: "Mind your own business. I have one anyway, do you?"
Zhao Rangwen, "I...I will have..."
Jiang Xu interrupted him directly, "Look at you, you don't even have any money yourself but you still care whether other people's money is clean or not, you really love to meddle in other people's business." He stopped laughing and looked at Zhao Rangwen with contempt, "Mind your own business."
Zhao Rangwen paused for a long time without speaking, while Jiang Xu continued flipping through the book in his hand. "Is there anything else?"
Zhao Rangwen then realized he had misled someone about the topic, and he steered the conversation back on track, saying, "You're not saying this because you're afraid to participate, are you?"
