Chapter 137 Relationship

Jiang Xu nodded, "I want to know, I want to know everything."

"That's good," Gu Li said, seemingly relieved. "I got my revenge on those people back then, in a very reckless way," he smiled as if remembering something, "but it was also a very satisfying way. I beat them all up. Aren't I awesome?"

Jiang Xu looked at Gu Li's eyes, which were like a child showing off his trophy, and said, "Amazing, our Brother Li is the best."

“Yes, that’s right,” Gu Li blinked with satisfaction. “I think so too, but they said I’m crazy, especially my father. He prepared a prison as if it were a major threat and locked me up inside. I’ve been there for a year.”

Jiang Xu could tell that Gu Li's tone was light and casual, but he felt that this matter was very serious. Hearing it weighed heavily on his heart. "How could he do this?" His voice trembled slightly, but his deepest concern was heartache.

Gu Li thought for a moment, “He’s making a fuss over nothing, but it’s okay, he can’t hold me back at all.” He raised his hand and pointed, his fingertip touching the pad of Jiang Xu’s hand behind his head. “Besides, he also taught me how to find a person’s weakness and hit it hard.”

Gu Liyan continued, "So I came out and used what he taught me to make those sinners truly regret their actions and truly remember the mistakes they made." He smiled gently, "Isn't that a good thing?"

Jiang Xu answered quickly, “No,” he said firmly, looking at Gu Li with her eyes closed, “That’s what they deserved to suffer, but it’s what you shouldn’t have to suffer.”

Gu Li opened his eyes and looked at Jiang Xu, who was speaking earnestly. "Then I'm quite lucky," he said, extending his hand to Jiang Xu. "I met you."

Jiang Xu decisively grabbed his hand and pulled him up.

Gu Li sat up, the blanket slipping off him slightly, but the pleasant scent of the blanket still lingered in his nostrils. "I'm almost done. I might forget some things, but I'll tell you anything I forget later when I remember," he said, unconsciously clenching the blanket tighter. "Now, can you tell me your story?"

Jiang Xu met Gu Li's gaze and noticed the tension Gu Li was hiding. He smiled slightly and said softly, "Of course." He wanted to put Gu Li at ease.

Gu Li nodded, and they sat facing each other.

“It’s a complex yet short story,” Jiang Xu thought, considering his words. “In simple terms, it can be summed up in a single sentence.”

Gu Li, "What kind of sentence is it?"

Jiang Xu's eyes were as deep as a still pool. "I am not Jiang Xu," he continued slowly. "I am Jiang Xu." He looked at Gu Li, giving her time to react.

Gu Li listened to Jiang Xu's words, looked at him seriously, seemed to be thinking about something, and then asked, "So you said you are the 'Xu' of 'rising sun'?"

Jiang Xu nodded.

Gu Li tilted his head. "It's a bit unbelievable, but I still want to ask first," he stared at the other person for several seconds, "Are you sure it's not some kind of delusional disorder?"

Jiang Xu reached out and flicked Gu Li's forehead. "I think you have delusions."

"Wait a minute," Gu Li ignored the slight pain in his forehead and leaned closer to the two of them. "Don't move," he said, and quickly reached out to pinch Jiang Xu's cheeks and pull them apart.

He moved very gently, and Jiang Xu let him do as he pleased. "Hmm?"

“It feels great,” Gu Li blurted out, then clapped his hands as he realized something was off. “And it looks really real. So,” he looked at Jiang Xu seriously again, “that’s the simple version. Now tell me the complicated one.”

Gu Li was somewhat incredulous, but since Jiang Xu had said it, he still wanted to hear it all.

Jiang Xu said, “I came here a month ago.” He saw the meaning in Gu Li’s eyes. “Yes, you are the first person I met in this world. We have known each other for a whole month.”

Gu Li said, "Putting everything else aside, I just want to say that maybe there really is such a thing as fate."

Jiang Xu smiled, the curve of his lips gentle. "Yes, I think so too," he continued. "When I came here, the owner of this body had already passed away, and the original me may have also passed away."

Gu Li felt a sudden panic. "What if you hadn't come..." He didn't dare to think about that possibility. He couldn't imagine the possibility that the other person didn't exist. His heart clenched slightly. He looked at Jiang Xu carefully. "Phew," he exhaled, "thank goodness, thank goodness."

Jiang Xu felt a warmth upon seeing Gu Li's reaction. He wanted to tell him, "I'm so glad I came here. I think if I hadn't come, my death and my existence might not have been so profound."

Gu Li thought for a moment and then said, "Then I hope to make it more profound, so that you won't want to leave."

Jiang Xu smiled and replied, "Okay." His existence was now closely related to one person. "I'm still investigating the reason for his suicide, but I don't have any clues yet."

Gu Li, "Do you need any help?"

Jiang Xu shook his head. "No need, I've investigated almost everything." He paused for a moment, then said, "I just remembered something, something that can be mentioned or not."

"What is it? Tell me, I'm really curious." Gu Li's voice was tinged with laughter.

“Well,” Jiang Xu thought for a moment and said, “My surname is Jiang,” he looked at Gu Li, “I think you can understand.”

Gu Li nodded, his smile undiminished. "I understand. We were just saying we'd fix it if it leaked, and now it's leaked." He sighed. "My surname has the same meaning."

Jiang Xu joked, "It does have a bit of a 'well-matched' feel to it."

Gu Li paused, then paused again after realizing what he meant, "Do you have anything else to say?" His tone became somewhat impatient.

Jiang Xu shook his head at the person, "That's about enough. I might have forgotten something too. We can talk about it later."

“Hmm,” Gu Li gripped the blanket tighter, “Do you remember I said I had something else to say after all this?”

Jiang Xu nodded, "I remember."

Gu Li looked down at the ground for a moment, then looked up. "I feel it's becoming more and more important now. I have a question for you, but don't answer me right away," he said, trying to think of something. "How about tomorrow morning? We can talk about it then, okay?"

Jiang Xu glanced at the sky outside. He thought that dawn wouldn't be long, and daybreak would eventually arrive. He nodded, "Okay, ask away." His voice was gentle and indulgent.

"I want to ask," Gu Li's Adam's apple bobbed, he was nervous, he felt his blood rushing upwards, "what is our relationship now?"

After he finished speaking, he only stared at Jiang Xu for three seconds before suddenly lowering his head and covering his face with his hands, while pulling the blanket over himself with his other hand. "Wait, don't speak yet."
