The starry sky outside the window was quiet, and the room was quiet as well, with Jiang Xu also remaining still.
Gu Li tilted her head slightly and glanced at Jiang Xu through her fingers. Their eyes met, and Gu Li quickly looked away.
He thought that Jiang Xu seemed to have been watching him the whole time.
Seeing Gu Li's state, Jiang Xu had no choice but to speak up, "Can I speak now?"
Gu Li nodded, but then thought the other person might not see his movements, so he replied with a nasal tone, "Mm."
Jiang Xu looked at the people huddled together and asked, "Do you remember when I said I had something to say to you?"
Gu Li responded softly, "Mm," and then added as if afraid Jiang Xu hadn't heard, "I remember."
Jiang Xu smiled as he spoke, "Then what I wanted to say has already been said by you."
Gu Li remained in the same position, then stretched out as if he had suddenly realized something. "Huh?" He stood up in disbelief, causing the small box containing the wind chimes to roll twice.
Jiang Xu smiled at the person and said, "Your wind chime is about to fall off."
Upon hearing this, Gu Li quickly looked down, then bent down and picked up her wind chime. "I won't let it fall."
"Okay." Jiang Xu's reply mingled with the sound of wind chimes by the window.
It was a perfectly timed breeze, a breeze that was just right.
Gu Li felt a gust of wind pass by her ear, her hair brushing against it. Some words slipped out, "Whether I can regret it or not, I think I can't wait until tomorrow morning."
Jiang Xu smiled, "Do you want to hear the answer now?"
Gu Li nodded, her eyes fixed on Jiang Xu.
Jiang Xu reached out and put his hand to Gu Li's ear. Before Gu Li could figure out what was going on, there was a sound in her ear.
He glanced over instinctively, then realized that Jiang Xu had snapped his fingers.
His attention was drawn to one side, but his body was pulled closer.
The moment Gu Li turned his head to look back, he knew that he had lunged at Jiang Xu again.
Jiang Xu caught the person steadily with a smile. They were very close, and Gu Li could feel Jiang Xu's smiling breath.
His heart started pounding uncontrollably again.
Jiang Xu noticed that Gu Liwei's ears, hidden beneath her long red hair, were now slightly red.
He wanted it to be even redder.
Jiang Xu leaned closer and whispered in Gu Li's ear, "But I did it on purpose," he said softly, "And you asked what our relationship is, right?"
He asked the question knowing the answer, just as he had been playing hard to get.
Jiang Xu's voice carried a hint of laughter. "I only have this one answer," he said in a deep voice, "a romantic relationship."
Gu Li felt the sound was like a thunderclap, making his eardrums ache, but he thought he must not have misheard.
His forehead rested on Jiang Xu's shoulder, and Gu Li closed his eyes tightly, feeling even a little dizzy.
Jiang Xu wasn't much better off; he could clearly hear his own heartbeat, and he couldn't even tell if it was Gu Li's heartbeat.
He had brought it up, and he needed an answer. Jiang Xu took a deep breath. "This is what I'm thinking," he said, rubbing his fingers together. "And your answer, Gu Li?"
His voice was deep and hoarse, and calling Gu Li's name was as if he were calling out to his lover.
Gu Li opened his eyes. "I," he began, his first word unusually hoarse.
He paused, swallowed, and spoke again, "I think this is the first time I've had a relationship like this with someone," his voice still a little hoarse, "boyfriend?" he asked uncertainly.
Gu Li put his arm around Jiang Xu's shoulder, then pulled away slightly, but then, still somewhat dissatisfied with looking at Jiang Xu like that, he moved closer again.
The two faced each other, their noses almost touching. Gu Li looked at Jiang Xu with a detailed, descriptive gaze, then he smiled, a smile as radiant as the moon that night. He spoke to Jiang Xu again, "Boyfriend."
This time, his tone was one of complete certainty.
Gu Li continued, "Jiang Xu, I like you."
The blunt and straightforward words surged towards Jiang Xu like a tidal wave, leaving him feeling like a rock on the shore.
He was easily pulled into the sea by a wave named Gu Li, but he was willing and even enjoyed it.
Jiang Xu gently placed his hand on the back of Gu Li's head and ruffled her hair. "I like you too," he said, his eyes filled with Gu Li. He thought he would never treat anyone like this again. "Boyfriend."
Gu Li's fingertips touched Jiang Xu's neck, then his entire palm pressed against his neck. "We can't go back to our old relationship," he said calmly. "Either for life, or..." He looked at Jiang Xu intently, "...absolutely impossible."
Jiang Xu reached out and touched the back of Gu Li's hand. "Why is it so cold?" He held Gu Li's hand, transferring warmth to him. "Gu Li, I think I forgot to mention this."
He gripped his hand tightly. "I'm a selfish person," Jiang Xu said, a dangerous glint in his eyes. "Once I hold on, I won't let go, even if you want to leave."
Gu Li didn't struggle at all. His calm expression finally crumbled. He smiled, feeling his fingertips go numb, a numbness that went to his bones. "What a coincidence," he said, his eyes sparkling, "Me too."
Look at the twinkling stars outside the window, look at the moon so bright it makes your heart tremble, look at the painting that has been drawn on the night sky.
Jiang Xu was standing on the balcony. He looked at the window of the opposite balcony, which was slightly open. A fair wrist flicked something, and he heard a crisp sound.
The sound was accompanied by the sudden opening of the window opposite, and Gu Liyang smiled at Jiang Xu, "Look, isn't it the same?"
Jiang Xu nodded. "Yes, they look just as good."
Gu Li looked up at the wind chime and then reached out to flick the paper below. The chime rang out softly. He then looked at Jiang Xu and said, "It seems a little different again."
Jiang Xu maintained a faint smile, "How is it different? Mine is prettier than yours?"
Gu Li shook his head. "No," he thought for a moment, then glanced at Jiang Xu. "I understand."
He winked at Jiang Xu, "Take a guess."
Looking at Gu Li, Jiang Xu felt a strange mix of emotions, a vibrant joy mixed with contentment. He spoke with certainty, “Mindset.”
Gu Li found it amazing more than once; it seemed like he really knew what she was thinking.
After thinking for a moment, Gu Li asked, "Jiang Xu, do you have any other additional abilities?" He thought for a moment and then said, "For example, mind reading."
Jiang Xu said, "You look so expectant, I almost thought I was pregnant." He shrugged. "Unfortunately, I'm not."
Gu Li said, “No, you do,” he beckoned with his finger, “you were sent here specifically to read your brother’s mind.”
Jiang Xu: "Even so, I still have to remind you that I am your older brother. I used to be 21."
Gu Li said, "I don't admit it. Anyway, I am the one who is right," he said stubbornly, then put his hand on the window glass, "Look."
