Chapter 139 Leadership

Jiang Xu looked over and saw that Gu Li was much closer to the window, his breath creating white mist on the glass.

He flicked his fingertips against the glass twice, and a small heart appeared on the glass. His fingertips stopped next to the heart. "Watch me draw."

Jiang Xu looked at the tiny heart and felt a gentle, soft touch. "Hmm, beautiful."

Gu Li abandoned the glass window and looked directly into Jiang Xu's eyes. He stretched his hand out of the window and said, "That's for you." Then, he pinched his index finger and thumb together in mid-air, and another heart appeared.

His eyes were full of laughter. "I'll throw in one more thing, and..." He waved his hand at Jiang Xu, "See you tomorrow." He quickly withdrew his hand. "Brother Xu." His voice was low, with a faint smile lingering around him.

Things are different now, and even the way Jiang Xu hears the word "Brother Xu" is completely different.

It was covered in sugar threads, and inside was flowing sugar syrup. Gu Li pierced the outer layer with a hook-like sound.

From then on, it was utterly, completely sweet.

Jiang Xu thought to himself that he really had developed a sweet tooth, ever since he came here, ever since this month.

Gu Li didn't receive a reply from Jiang Xu, and he wasn't in a hurry. He just watched Jiang Xu from a short distance away.

He thought, the person he likes is really good-looking.

She was beautiful from the first time I saw her, and she's only gotten more beautiful now.

As he looked at him, he realized he was staring at Jiang Xu. Gu Li didn't think there was anything wrong with staring at someone for so long, after all, he was her boyfriend now.

Damn, this is her boyfriend. Gu Li thought about these three words, and they floated around in her mind.

He felt absolutely ecstatic.

Jiang Xu watched as Gu Li, seemingly lost in thought, smiled more and more brightly, almost as dazzling as the balcony light. Looking into his eyes, Jiang Xu couldn't help but smile as well.

He thought that good moods are contagious.

Gu Li saw Jiang Xu's smile and suddenly remembered something. "You haven't answered me yet? I'm still waiting."

Jiang Xu, "What?"

Gu Li raised an eyebrow. "I said," he drawled, "see you tomorrow."

Jiang Xu looked at Gu Li's expression that seemed to say, "You better answer me now!" He smiled and said, "See you tomorrow," his voice softening, "Brother Li."

The two words reached Gu Li's ears on the wind, and his eyes widened slightly. "What is this?"

“It’s a perk,” Jiang Xu said with a smile, “a return gift from my boyfriend who makes a heart shape with his hands.”

Gu Li seemed to be talking to himself, "If I had known the benefits were this good, I would have taken the job long ago." His voice grew softer and softer, but Jiang Xu heard him clearly.

Jiang Xu shook his head. "Too early? Now is just right."

Gu Li looked at the black-haired young man and thought it was just right. "Then," he paused, "goodnight, my boyfriend."

He thought, "Yes, it's his."

Jiang Xu's voice was very gentle, "Good night."

He thought, "Goodnight can be gentle, and I'll only say goodnight to my boyfriend."

On the balcony at night, the wind chimes hang quietly facing each other, keeping each other company, separated only by a wall.

Jiang Xu couldn't tell whether he slept well or not. He fell asleep quickly, slept enough, and then woke up.

His first instinct was to turn on his phone to see what time it was. The sudden light from the phone made him squint, and after his eyes adjusted, he realized it was about 3:30 a.m.

He looked at the ceiling, then closed his eyes again. It was still early.

When Jiang Xu woke up again, he immediately reached for his phone. This time, he closed his eyes for a while before opening them to look, and this time he saw it clearly.

Great, another hour has passed, it's 4:30, it should be almost time.

He put his phone down again, but this time when he closed his eyes, he was wide awake.

Instead, as soon as he closed his eyes, he could recall Gu Li's appearance. Various versions of Gu Li ran through Jiang Xu's mind. Jiang Xu helplessly opened his eyes and looked at the dark ceiling.

Then he realized that opening his eyes was indeed useless; Gu Li was still running around in his mind.

Jiang Xu put his hand on his forehead and smiled helplessly, wondering if he had the gene for being love-struck, otherwise why would he be so eager to see the other person?

After waiting quietly for a while, Jiang Xu picked up his phone again and swiped around casually, trying to pass the time.

However, he still subconsciously clicked into the chat window with Gu Li. When he realized it, he wanted to exit. Jiang Xu even thought somewhat nonchalantly that it was his first time dating, so it was good to experience all kinds of feelings.

I feel pretty good right now.

Just as Jiang Xu was about to tap the return button, his fingertip paused. The words "typing" appeared under Gu Li's name. He watched the words disappear and reappear, disappear and reappear again. On the third time, Jiang Xu's fingertip decisively landed on the input method.

Gu Li thought he was really good at staying up late. He managed to stay up until 5 o'clock on his phone. He actually thought it was still quite early and wanted to stay up a little longer.

But a small voice kept telling him, "That's enough, that's enough."

The voice even added, "He might be awake now."

So Gu Li was extremely conflicted. He kept deleting and rewriting, he hesitated and reconsidered, but he just couldn't send the message.

The sudden appearance of the dialog box made Gu Li pause, interrupting all her thoughts, and prompting new ones to emerge.

The message was cut off because Jiang Xu suddenly sent a message, and the thought process continued because Jiang Xu only sent a period.

Jiang Xu:

Gu Li looked at the message on his phone and was puzzled. Since he was puzzled, he asked a question.

So Jiang Xu saw Gu Li's reply: ?

Jiang Xu smiled. He could almost picture Gu Li's confused expression. He would rather call Gu Li than send her a message.

The phone rang in the dark bedroom, waiting for the other party to answer.

"Jiang Xu?" He heard Gu Li's voice ring out.

"Hmm, can't you sleep?" Jiang Xu asked softly.

"Can't sleep? Can't you sleep either?" Gu Li's voice was indeed very awake.

"Yes, that's why I sent you a message." He was a little curious about what Gu Li had just wanted to send. "What were you thinking of sending?"

"I wanted to send you a message too, did you see it?"

“I saw it,” Jiang Xu said with a hint of a laugh. “I was wondering what instructions the leader might have.”

Gu Li was silent for a moment. "I'm the leader?" He thought it was alright, but it was also a little strange.

“You are,” Jiang Xu affirmed, “and of course I am also a leader.”

"Just like I'm your boyfriend, and you're my boyfriend too?" Gu Li blurted out whatever came to mind.

Jiang Xu found the analogy made the laughter more pronounced. "Pretty much," he said after a moment's thought, "but what I really want to say is, I'll listen to you, but will you listen to me too?"
