Chapter 15 Impulse

The two carried their books to a nearby tree, where there was a row of marble seats. They put down their books and sat down there.

"Here you go." Jiang Xu handed the items to Gu Li.

Gu Li took the milk. "Oh, it's still hot. Did you give me your breakfast?" Gu Li had never experienced drinking hot milk in the summer before. He skillfully inserted the straw.

Jiang Xu: "No, I wouldn't harm my own interests. I can't drink more if I buy too much."

Gu Li, "Has anyone mentioned this to you?"

"What did you say?" Jiang Xu looked ahead.

"You're so stubborn," Gu Li swallowed a mouthful of milk, "Where did you buy hot milk in the middle of summer?"

Jiang Xu: "You're really something, seeing through things and still saying it out loud."

"That's right, there are so many people praising me." Gu Li took another puff.

"Is it possible that I wasn't praising you?" Jiang Xu almost laughed again.

"Impossible." Gu Li denied it very quickly, and then turned to give Jiang Xu a dazzling smile.

Jiang Xu: "Has anyone said anything about you?"

Gu Li: "Go ahead and say it. I agree."

"childish."

Jiang Xu's words, tinged with laughter and damp with morning dew, flew wetly to Gu Li's ear, then burst open with a "whoosh" as tiny water droplets, a cool and unique experience for Gu Li.

"Someone has said it before, you're behind the times." Gu Li recalled that Lü Chao and Ji Hai had said it quite often, but it felt a little different from what Jiang Xu said.

But what's different is that Gu Li's emotions are impossible to truly grasp.

Jiang Xu: "That's true, I bet they've said it quite a bit already."

Gu Li: "Oh, if they knew you, they'd have to say even more about you."

"You're so sure, what if it doesn't work?" Jiang Xu watched Gu Li finish her milk, then took it, aimed at the trash can not far away, and tossed it gently.

The milk bottle landed in a smooth parabola into a nearby trash can.

“Look,” Jiang Xu said proudly, “a hollow ball.”

Gu Li: "That's why I'm sure."

As soon as Gu Li finished speaking, girls carrying small bags walked by on the tree-lined path beside the trees.

"Wow, he's so handsome! Even when he loses things, he has such a youthful spirit."

"Yes, I want to see them play basketball."

"I'll definitely go watch if he plays and cheer him on."

Gu Li turned her gaze away and saw Jiang Xu looking at her with his hands spread out on his knees, looking like he had no choice.

Gu Li: "You actually called me arrogant. You gave it to me, you gave it to me. You're the one who's talking."

Jiang Xu said, "Young man, don't admit defeat too quickly."

"Admit defeat?" Gu Li tossed a strand of hair, raising an eyebrow. "Who lost? How could I have lost?"

Young people are fiercely competitive and can't stand the word "lose".

"Wait a minute." Jiang Xu lightly brushed Gu Li's red hair from her forehead, and the next second his hand was grabbed by someone with a bit of force, but it was released immediately.

Gu Li: "What are you doing? Your hair is all messed up."

"You were so flirtatious just now and you didn't get flustered, but I just touched you and you got flustered?" Jiang Xu smiled. "No, no, not at all."

"Even if you don't mess with me, you can't touch me. I'm a very meticulous person, from head to toe, and I won't let anyone touch me." Gu Li casually made up some nonsense to cover up the unusual vigilance he had just shown.

“Okay, I won’t touch it.” Jiang Xu agreed. “I just wanted to ask this refined person if their eyebrows were also newly styled.”

Gu Li, “.......”

Jiang Xu: "It's inconvenient to talk about it? It's okay, it looks really good and I'd like to get one too."

"No need, you're fine as you are now." Gu Li smoothed the hair on her forehead, covering her eyebrows even more.

Jiang Xu: "It's still a bit short. It would probably look better if you changed your eyebrows."

Gu Li, "You really want to do it?"

"Authenticity guaranteed".

Gu Li said, "Don't try to protect it. If I hear those words again, they'll fill my dreams with them."

Jiang Xu: "Then what should we do? I'm used to saying it."

Gu Li glanced at Jiang Xu. "He seems like a very respectable person, yet he's always lying?"

"No, it was just a mistake last time." Jiang Xu waved his hand with a smile, giving him a look that said, "Don't mention it again."

Gu Li: "If you really want to do it, shall we go?"

Jiang Xu, "Went to that store again?"

“No,” Gu Li looked directly at the person, with a nonchalant expression, “Let’s go to Pear Blossom Villa.”

The next moment, Jiang Xu's lips could no longer be held back and he smiled, his eyes curving into beautiful arcs, his laughter occasionally leaking out, which made Gu Li's eyebrows and eyes also curve.

The two sat on the marble floor and laughed for a while before stopping.

"You already guessed it, why ask? Are you trying to embarrass me?" Gu Li asked after a moment of hesitation.

Jiang Xu: "No, I genuinely think it looks pretty good."

Gu Li said, "That's great! I'll bring my eyebrow trimmer to class tomorrow and I'll definitely do it for you myself. It'll be free."

"Okay, I'll save you a seat tomorrow." Jiang Xu nodded. "How did it get so messed up? Did someone who's meticulous about their toenails suddenly slip up?"

"It's because Ji Hai called me early in the morning for no reason. I had my phone volume up, and it startled me awake," Gu Li said, then smiled somewhat sinisterly as if she had just thought of something. "Good lad, I'll give him a piece of my mind."

Jiang Xu, "Don't forget to bring your book."

Gu Li said, "How about I leave it with you? I'll settle accounts with him for how much damage it did to him and how much of his influence he brought in."

Jiang Xu, "You didn't drive your top-notch car?"

"It wasn't open. I walked over because I live nearby." Gu Li stood up and placed her hand on the pile of books. "Can you help me out?"

"Just call me brother." Jiang Xu smiled and rested his arm on his pile of books.

"You didn't even ask me to help you choose books, little brother, you have no conscience!" Gu Li's expression changed lively, looking like she had encountered a scumbag.

"I haven't been taking advantage of you verbally all the time." Jiang Xu wanted to facepalm again, feeling somewhat wry and amused.

Gu Li said, "What's wrong with your brother taking advantage? Can't you let your brother have his way?" After he finished speaking, his amber eyes blinked, and he moved closer, his voice soft and deep, "Brother Xu?"

Jiang Xu felt a strange sensation, like being stung by a bee—a mix of pain and stimulation. His voice vibrated in the absolute realm, each syllable a seductive whisper.

After Gu Li finished speaking, she realized that she must have gotten up too early and was still asleep. What was he doing here? Trying to flirt with someone she had only known for two days? There was no way he could succeed.

He asked himself again, "Is this fun?"

Then he heard the young man, who seemed different from the first time they met, speak through his thin lips, "Okay, I'll help you."

Gu Li thought again, "I must say, this is so much fun, so incredibly fun."

He withdrew his hand from the book cover, straightened up, and said, "Wait until tomorrow to become handsome." He then tossed his head, his red hair shimmering brightly in the morning light.

"I'm waiting." This "waiting" is completely different from what we say in the dormitory. Perhaps it means that all his interactions with Gu Li are completely different from his interactions with others in the dormitory.

When freshness meets freshness, it comes alive.

"Brother Wang, they seem to have a really good relationship." Liu Xian and the other two came together and after watching the interaction between the two under the tree for a while, Liu Xian spoke up.
