Chapter 178 Worried about being robbed

Gu Li buried half her face in the pillow, and when she heard this, she buried it even deeper, her shoulders trembling slightly, clearly trying to hide her laughter, "Just hug me like this."

Upon hearing Gu Li's words, Jiang Xu immediately felt a hand on his waist, pulling him towards Gu Li with a slight force. Jiang Xu cooperated and came to Gu Li's side. "Pretty direct," he commented.

Gu Li's hand slowly moved from Jiang Xu's waist to his back, and he patted him gently, with the same force as when coaxing a child. "Don't you like it?"

Jiang Xu looked at the half of Gu Li's face that was visible, his eyes closed, and said, "I like it quite a bit." As soon as he finished speaking, he put his arm around Gu Li's waist.

Their fingertips moved intimately, their hands and feet intertwined, seemingly embracing each other completely. Gu Li's breathing was even, and her voice was soft and indistinct, "Hmm...that's good."

Jiang Xu adjusted the blankets to make them more comfortable. Only a warm-colored lamp was lit by the bedside. He spoke softly, "Sleep." His voice was very gentle, as if he were coaxing a child.

"Hmm..." Gu Li replied with that sound and then fell silent again.

A quiet room, a peaceful night's sleep.

Gu Li woke up late on Sunday. When he woke up, Jiang Xu was not in bed. His head was throbbing, and he couldn't tell if it was from sleeping too much or from the medication. He opened his eyes and closed them again.

He didn't open his eyes again until he heard the door open. Jiang Xu walked in with a glass of water in his hand and looked at Gu Li, who was staring straight at him from the bed, and asked, "Awake?"

Gu Li: "Um, when did you wake up?"

Jiang Xu sat down on the edge of the bed and put down the water. "It hasn't been long."

"Why didn't you call me?" Gu Li's gaze followed Jiang Xu's movements.

Jiang Xu looked at Gu Li, who was still lying down, and said, "I wanted you to sleep a little longer. Weekends are a rare treat for students. Also, you haven't been to class for a week, so you'll have to get up early a lot. That's why I didn't wake you up today."

Gu Li asked, "Then why aren't you with me?" He grabbed Jiang Xu's clothes, determined not to let go until he gave an explanation.

Jiang Xu smiled when he saw this action. "Are you really awake or not?"

"Oh?" Gu Li's voice was filled with doubt. "You have to dream about me to ask you to keep me company? I'm so disappointed." After he finished speaking, he decisively let go of Jiang Xu's clothes and turned his back to him.

Seeing Gu Li's sulky expression, Jiang Xu leaned over and quietly slipped his hand under the covers. "How could that be?" He placed his hand on Gu Li's chest. "You're dancing quite well."

Gu Li turned around and looked at Jiang Xu, her face full of sincerity, "True heartbreak isn't about making a scene, but about what I'm like."

Jiang Xu wanted to laugh again, but he held it back and looked at Gu Li seriously, "I understand."

Gu Li looked at Jiang Xu's expression, "You know what you know..." Suddenly, an itch on his waist interrupted him, ".....haha....." His laughter escaped his lips. He tried to pull back to avoid the hand on his waist, but Jiang Xu wouldn't let him escape, "Don't...hahaha...no...it's too late."

Jiang Xu stopped when he saw tears welling up in Gu Li's eyes. "Is it warm now?" he asked, leaning closer to look at Gu Li.

Gu Li smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners, the smile still lingering on his lips. He looked at Jiang Xu with a smile, "Who taught you to be so kind to people? I have to give him a good talking to."

Jiang Xu said, "Looks like it's still not enough." His tone was somewhat troubled. The next moment, he touched Gu Li's cheek with his lips and asked in her ear, "Is it really not warm enough?"

Gu Li felt as if a small animal's nose had brushed against her face; the cool sensation was quite pleasant. "It couldn't be warmer."

Jiang Xu smiled slightly upon hearing the reply, "You should get up, or it'll be time for dinner."

"Hmm." Gu Li responded, and just as he was about to get up, a hand supported the back of his neck, and he was lifted up by someone. Gu Li looked up at Jiang Xu and said, "I'll be so lazy if you do this."

Jiang Xu smiled and pinched the back of Gu Li's neck. "Don't say that. It's just a casual act of helping the weak."

"Hmm?" Gu Li snorted. "Weak?" He raised his voice, suddenly stood up, hooked his arm around Jiang Xu's neck, switched their positions, and pushed Jiang Xu down onto the bed. "Who are you calling weak, little brother?" His tone was full of threat, and his hand was ambiguously rubbing Jiang Xu's cheek.

Jiang Xu lay there calmly. "I'll have to think about it," he said slowly, his demeanor unhurried.

Gu Li's threat seemed to be absorbed by a black hole, having no effect on Jiang Xu whatsoever. "Hmm, it does require some thought," Gu Li agreed good-naturedly, the next moment her leg bluntly wedged between Jiang Xu's legs. "Have you thought it through?"

Jiang Xu felt the blatant pressure, but instead, a relaxed smile appeared on his lips. "You're weak and I'm relatively young, okay?" He spoke as if he were negotiating, with a faint smile in his voice. "Brother Li." This time, however, it was different. Like a devil's sigh, it flowed into Gu Li's ears in a low voice, with an unusually ambiguous meaning.

Gu Li felt Jiang Xu press down on his shoulder, pulling him downwards. A bright smile appeared on his lips. He also pressed down on Jiang Xu's shoulder, letting the distance close. Just as their lips were about to touch, he turned his head away and breathed into Jiang Xu's ear, saying, "Still haven't figured it out yet? Well," he drawled, "we'll talk about it later."

Afterwards, Jiang Xu felt a lightness in his body. Gu Li got up and walked towards the bathroom, leaving Jiang Xu with only a back view of her stretching. Jiang Xu sat up from the bed and smiled at the water on the bedside table, "Really good."

He murmured to himself, seemingly lost in thought, but his tone revealed that he was in a good mood.

Gu Li came out of the bathroom quickly, his hair swept back to reveal his smooth forehead, making his face even more striking, with a refined coldness. He sat down next to Jiang Xu and put his arm around Jiang Xu's shoulder like two buddies.

Jiang Xu looked over, somewhat puzzled. Had he washed his face and become a different person?

Gu Li noticed the confusion in Jiang Xu's eyes. He smiled broadly at Jiang Xu and said, "I'm hungry, Jiang Xu." There was no embarrassment whatsoever; his smile was completely radiant.

Jiang Xu picked up the glass of water from the bedside table and handed it to Gu Li, saying, "Drink this first, then come eat with me."

Gu Li felt the water being shoved into his hand was still warm. He tilted his head back and gulped it down, then walked outside with Jiang Xu. "Ready?"

Jiang Xu: "Yeah, I'm just worried that someone might go hungry, or get thinner again."

Gu Li fiddled with the glass in her hand, feeling the last bit of warmth. "You're so thoughtful, I'm starting to worry."

Jiang Xu, "What are you worried about?"

Gu Li said, half-jokingly and half-seriously, "I'm worried someone will try to take it from me."
