Instant Noodle Zombie Outbreak: The Social Death of Space Rat

Instant Noodle Zombie Outbreak: The Social Death of Space Rat

Xiaodou awoke to the stench of decay, his nose brushing against a wrinkled instant noodle bag instead of Bai Shenyuan's fox fur. He snapped his eyes open and discovered he had transformed into a space rat—gray fur as fluffy as a dandelion, a rusty key curled around its tail, and a spinning gear-shaped rune nestled between its claws.

"Ding! Welcome to the apocalyptic wasteland!" The voice of the mechanical cat exploded from my mind, "Your subspace has been activated. Time flows 10 times faster than in the outside world. Be careful when stockpiling."

A rustling sound came from the corner of the basement. A socially anxious programmer in a plaid shirt was arranging instant noodles into a heart shape. Dark circles formed under his eyes, and he clasped his hands in front of the noodles. "Instant Noodle God, I haven't left the house in 30 days. Please give me a girlfriend who will accept my hoarding habit..."

Xiaodou tilted his head, and suddenly there was a movement in the space stomach - the 30 boxes of instant noodles stored by the owner absorbed the loneliness of human beings in the subspace, and actually grew soft limbs and sauce-covered eyes, and were queuing up to wriggle towards the exit.

"Wait! That's the flavor of my treasured old-style pickled cabbage!"

Xiaodou tried to stop them, but accidentally bit into the seasoning packet. The moment the sour bamboo shoots exploded in his mouth, the flow of time in the subspace suddenly went haywire. The instant noodles erupted in a collective riot, shouting "Give me back my seasoning packet!" as they rushed out the door, forks in hand. Their owner fell flat on his face, startled.

"Squeak!" Xiaodou jumped in panic, and wrapped his tail around his owner's computer power cord, but it triggered the space mouse's ability - the exit of the subspace opened on the ceiling, and 50 bags of spicy strips fell out, knocking out the zombies in the front row.

"Warning! Unnatural mutant creatures detected!" The mechanical cat's red light flashed. "It is recommended to use space storage to counterattack!"

Xiaodou followed his instructions and gnawed at the wall, and the subspace spat out half a box of expired chili sauce. The instant noodle zombies' eyes suddenly burst into tears, and they all knelt and begged for mercy: "It's so spicy...it's so spicy that it's leaving my soul!"

The basement door burst open, and a muscular combat dog burst in, munching on a dagger, followed by a survivor wearing a gas mask. The dog's nose twitched, and it frowned in disdain. "Are you the blind date the system matched you with? You smell like instant noodles."

Xiaodou lashed his tail angrily, and a deflated bag of potato chips fell out of the space—the spoils he'd stockpiled yesterday. Suddenly, the fighting dog became alert and lifted the bag with the muzzle of its gun. "Is this... the limited edition pre-war tomato flavor?"

The next second, all the instant noodle zombies suddenly turned around and ran towards the deeper ruins. Xiaodou then discovered that they all had QR codes tied to their ankles. After scanning the code, a line of words popped up: "Want to revive? Scan the code to join the zombie instant noodle bucket, and get your second bucket half price~"

The owner took the opportunity to lock the door and collapsed on the ground, gasping for breath. "Thanks... My name is Azai, what's yours?"

Just as Xiaodou was about to rub his palm, a clang suddenly sounded from the subspace. He peeked over and saw the iron box in the corner vibrating. A half-slip of paper leaked out from the crack. It read in meowing language: "Save me, I'm in Cthulhu's stomach - The Secret Keeper Cat from Volume 12"

"Otaku," Xiaodou patted his phone with his paw. The screen displayed "Apocalypse Survival Guide: Pets Need Both Combat and Stockpiling Abilities." "We need to sort out the inventory in this space. The next mutation might be even more troublesome."

Otaku suddenly pointed at the tip of Xiaodou's tail and said, "Your fur... is glowing?"

Xiaodou turned around and saw that the space mouse's tail was reflecting the sweet crystal core fragments from the interstellar chapter. In the fragments, a man wearing glasses was faintly visible, smiling. The mechanical cat's prompt sounded at the right time:

"Marriage value +1 (A blessing in disguise), special clue 'Mysterious Iron Box' has been activated. Do you want to open it now?"
