Reality Cracks in the Refrigerator
The young demon, clutching the GM's tail, rushed into the clinic's refrigerator, clawing at the energy can labeled "001." Suddenly, Cthulhu slime seeped from the can's surface, transforming it into a screaming, interstellar nutritional supplement. "Mom, look! This can can curse!" The young demon spun around, only for it to spray modern disinfectant, staining his tentacles bubblegum pink.
Xiaodou squatted on the refrigerator partition and gnawed on the reality anchor key. The key suddenly turned into a cherry blossom bookmark from the campus chapter, with a note stuck in it: "There is a memory archive of the time mouse in the basement of the clinic - Lin Shenliu." She looked up and saw a report on the marriage values of various worlds posted on the inner wall of the refrigerator. The seventy-eighth item read "Blind date with the Time Manager (GM): in progress (baby-raising mode)."
GM (RoboCat) stuffed the cub into the refrigerator: "Don't move! These cans are the memory energy that Lin Shen prepared for you!" As soon as the words fell, the cub gnawed through the cabinet door and ran out holding a can labeled "Cthulhu Flavor". An elemental crystal from the Western Fantasy story rolled out of the can, and the crystal reflected a holographic projection of a mechanical heart.
The clinic's wall clock suddenly reversed, its hands flickering into pixelated gears, forming the words "August 12, 2025" (real time). Lin Shen, dressed in a white lab coat, emerged from the clinic and froze upon seeing Xiaodou. The mechanical heart pendant in his pocket resonated with the eleventh glimmer of light from her claws, projecting a scene from fourteen lifetimes ago:
Young Lin Shen (No. 001) kneeled before the altar, sealing the core of the Concept Rat King into a mechanical heart. Nearby crouched the Elemental Rat (Xiaodou), gnawing at his shoelaces. Inscribed on the altar's stone wall was the inscription: "I will give you my three souls in exchange for your reincarnation—when all your memories are gathered, the refrigerator will be your door."
"You're finally here." Lin Shen's medical tray held a memory needle, the needle tip flashing with the blue light of the StarCraft. "This needle can awaken your memory, but it will trigger the collapse of space-time—are you willing to take a chance?"
The evil cub suddenly thrust an elemental crystal into Lin Shen's hands, and the crystal exploded into pixelated fragments, which formed a family portrait: Lin Shen in the modern era, the mechanical cat GM, Xiaodou in JK clothes, and the cub in a bellyband, all set against the backdrop of a cyberpunk gear city. The cub clapped its hands: "This is Dad, Mom, me, and my uncle who can transform into a cat!"
The GM's mechanical cat ears stood up: "Who, who is the uncle!" His correction watch suddenly showed "Marriage value 100%", the watch cover popped open, and the admission ticket to the fourteenth volume flew out. The ticket was printed with "The intersection of reality and fantasy - please bring a family photo to enter."
Xiaodou took a bite of the can of memory energy Lin Shen handed her, and from it emerged the sword tassel from the Xiuxian world (foreshadowing Volume 5) and the instant noodle bucket from the apocalypse (foreshadowing Volume 6). The rune on her claw heart resonated with the family portrait, forming a light pattern that read "L·S + Xiaodou = ∞."
【Hug before collapse】
A pixelated abyss cracked open in the clinic floor, and Cthulhu tentacles stretched out from the abyss, only to be reduced to ash by Lin Shen's pendant. "Get in the refrigerator!" Lin Shen pushed Xiaodou toward the freezer. "See you in Volume 14. This time, I'll come find you."
Xiaodou suddenly transformed back into human form and threw herself into Lin Shen's arms. "I remember now, you are..." Before she could finish her words, time and space began to collapse, and her figure transformed into a rainbow-colored data stream, sucked into the entrance to Volume 14 deep within the refrigerator. Before the GM jumped in, carrying the screaming cub, she heard Lin Shen's voice penetrate the crack:
“Remember to bring a family photo—we’re waiting for you in reality.”
