Chapter 26
You're teasing me again!
Jiang Fengyi stuffed food into her mouth as quickly as possible.
The food wasn't hot, and just as Xu had said, it would get cold if we didn't eat it soon.
“Not eating on time will cause stomach problems.” Xu continued to use serving chopsticks to put food into Jiang Fengyi’s bowl. “I will supervise your eating from now on.”
Indeed, when Jiang Fengyi is busy with work, she often forgets to eat, or she just grabs a quick bite.
If Xu hadn't kept urging her to eat today, she might have skipped lunch altogether. With meetings coming one after another, she might not have remembered to eat until she finished everything.
Jiang Fengyi cleared her mind and focused on eating, only to realize that Xu Que had been entering her office much more frequently.
For some reason, she asked, "Didn't you say you didn't want to announce our marriage to outsiders? Aren't you afraid people will suspect something by coming in and out of my office so many times?"
"Suspect?"
Xu replied matter-of-factly, "Isn't it normal for subordinates to go into their superiors' offices?"
She said confidently, "Don't worry, no one suspects anything between us."
Jiang Fengyi recalled Wu Qi's meaningful look before he left: "Are you sure?"
Xu nodded confidently.
Jiang Fengyi did not mention this to Xu Que, but only said, "Alright then."
After having lunch with Jiang Fengyi, Xu rested his chin on his hand and looked at her, asking, "Would you like to take a short nap?"
Jiang Fengyi sat back down in front of her office: "I don't have the habit of taking a nap."
"If you want to sleep, you can go to the lounge to sleep; there are beds there that are more comfortable."
“I won’t sleep either,” Xu said, shifting his chin to his other hand. “I want to keep looking at you.”
Jiang Fengyi forced herself not to look at her, focusing intently on the proposal on the table. The words on the A4 paper seemed to come alive, crawling like ants on her heart.
“This is a company, there are many outsiders here,” Jiang Fengyi tried to change the subject, “in case someone overhears us.”
Xu now deeply regrets that when Jiang Fengyi asked for her opinion, she chose to hide their relationship from everyone.
After all, she hadn't expected to fall deeply in love with Jiang Fengyi back then. She simply wanted to take the money and leave, not wanting to cause any unnecessary trouble.
In the end, she reaped what she sowed.
Xu whispered in a voice only she could hear, "So what if people hear? They want to know." She was now more than happy for everyone to know.
Jiang Fengyi, who was working on the other side, obviously didn't hear clearly: "What did you say?"
“I said, there’s no end to the work, you should take a break.”
Xu walked over and pulled Jiang Fengyi to the lounge: "You've been busy since early morning, even an iron body can't take it."
When Xu pressed her down onto the bed, Jiang Fengyi was still thinking about the feasibility of the project in the proposal. As her head sank into the soft pillow, her thoughts gradually came to a stop.
Before long, her eyelids began to droop, her breathing became even, and Jiang Fengyi drifted off to sleep.
Seeing that Jiang Fengyi was asleep, Xu thoughtfully turned up the room temperature and covered her with the folded air-conditioning blanket.
She reached out halfway, then pulled back, tossed the air-conditioning blanket into a neglected corner, turned and went to the outside rest area, bringing in the orange knitted blanket she had given her from the sofa.
The sunflower blanket carried not only Jiang Fengyi's scent but also her own. She loved the smell of their scents mingling together.
Xu took a deep breath and slowly draped a corner of the blanket over Jiang Fengyi.
Whether it was intentional or unintentional, I don't know.
The most radiant sunflower fell right into Jiang Fengyi's heart.

This month, Xu not only received his salary from the company, but also received an extra bonus from Jiang Fengyi.
"This is?"
Looking at the extra balance in her bank account on her phone, she realized it was enough for her to buy a large apartment in the city's most central area outright.
Jiang Fengyi saw Xu comparing prices of prosthetics several times, calculating whether his monthly salary plus his previous savings would be enough to buy one.
"We agreed before signing the agreement that I would give you a bonus if you did well. This is last month's bonus, which you deserve."
"So...so much?"
Xu had never seen so much money in his life; it was much more than what was written in the agreement.
"You really want them all?"
Jiang Fengyi snatched the phone from Xu Que's hand and turned off the screen: "It's all yours, just accept it."
"As long as you stay with me for a month, you can get an extra month's bonus."
Xu Que's excitement was palpable, and he couldn't help but rush forward and hug Jiang Fengyi tightly: "That's wonderful!"
Overwhelmed with emotion, she blurted out her heartfelt words, "I really want to be by your side forever!"
Jiang Fengyi froze instantly when she was suddenly pulled into someone's arms. Her face brushed against the other person's hair, and the familiar scent reached her nose. She was so close that she could feel the pulse beating on the side of the other person's neck.
A sweet feeling washed over me, but it was quickly overwhelmed by a bitter taste.
She was happy to hear Xu say that he wanted to stay by her side for life, but then lamented that she could only keep someone by her side with money.
Is she only willing to stay by my side because of money?
She didn't even have the courage to ask a question.
Xu only realized what he had done after pulling Jiang Fengyi into his arms. His hand froze on Jiang Fengyi's back, unsure whether to remove it.
She stole a glance at Jiang Fengyi's face, and seeing that she wasn't angry, she quietly moved her hand away and straightened up again.
As the heat source receded from her, Jiang Fengyi sensed it immediately. She lowered her eyes, her long eyelashes concealing her hidden thoughts.
Xu, who had just left the office, was completely unaware of Jiang Fengyi's thoughts. She was contacting Su Mei, the director of the orphanage, to tell the children the good news.
After deducting what she received from the bonus Jiang Fengyi gave her, Xu still had a considerable amount left, which she didn't squander. She already had a plan for what to do with the remaining money.

During a break from work, He Shuyi looked up, twisted her stiff neck, and planned to take a short break. Turning her head, she saw Xu Que's work status—he was completely focused on the computer, undisturbed by anything around him.
"So you've changed your ways, and now I'm the only one thinking about slacking off at work?"
After watching for a while, Xu showed no intention of turning around and paying attention to her, so He Shuyi had no choice but to go to the tea room alone.
It's time to get off work.
He Shuyi left with her pre-packed handbag on her back. Before leaving, she glanced at the office, but Xu was still working diligently.
Withdrawing his questioning gaze, he couldn't understand why Sister Wu had assigned Xu so much work.
After finishing her overtime work, Jiang Fengyi turned off the company lights as she left.
In the darkness,
The light from the computer screen reflected on Xu Que's face, casting a cool tone.
Jiang Fengyi asked in surprise, "Why are you still at the company?" She turned the light back on.
Xu then turned off the computer, saying, "I'll wait for you to leave work together."
She naturally walked to Jiang Fengyi's side and said like an ordinary couple, "Let's go home."
Xu's clothes and personal belongings left at Jiang Fengyi's house were still there. Neither of them mentioned moving out, and Xu took the opportunity to stay for an extended period.
In a carriage with only two people,
"What do you want to eat tonight? I'll cook it for you!" Xu was ready to show off his culinary skills.
Jiang Fengyi, sitting in the passenger seat, rubbed her sore eyes and said, "You must be tired after a long day. Let's have Auntie's cooking for dinner."
"I'm not tired."
"You can cook for me on the weekend!"
"Oh well."
When I got home,
The meal prepared by the aunt was already set on the table, and the two began to eat after washing their hands.
Halfway through using it, Xu suddenly got up and walked towards the door.
Jiang Fengyi looked at her and asked, "What's wrong?"
"My order has arrived."
Jiang Fengyi assumed it was a personal item bought by Xu Que, so she didn't ask any further questions and continued eating the food in her bowl.
It's strange. Even though it's the same food, she just prefers Xu Que's cooking. Could it be that Xu Que's cooking skills are really better than the housekeeper she hired?
The door opened and then closed.
Jiang Fengyi heard Xu Que's footsteps approaching her.
She looked up and saw Xu walking into the restaurant with a bottle of eye drops in his hand.
"Did you buy eye drops?" she asked. "Are your eyes bothered?"
Xu shook his head.
Instead of returning to his seat, he walked up to Jiang Fengyi.
"When you came back, I saw you rubbing your eyes the whole time. I guessed that your eyes were sore from working all day, so I bought this."
My eyes are a little sore.
She unscrewed the cap and asked, "Shall I help you?"
"Um......"
Jiang Fengyi remained seated in her dining chair, tilting her head slightly upwards.
The warm yellow light from the dining lamp illuminated her slender neck, making it hard not to look. Xu, however, found it difficult to tear his gaze away from her alabaster-skinned neck.
Until Jiang Fengyi asked in her clear and cold voice.
"Didn't you say you'd help me?" Why are you standing there, frozen in place?
"Coming right now!"
Xu leaned forward, holding a freshly opened bottle of eye drops in one hand, and reached out to Jiang Fengyi with the other, using two fingers to pry open her upper and lower eyelids.
She bent down and got closer.
"Your pupils are such a light color..."
Being so close, Xu's heart pounded wildly, and she had to find something to talk about to ease her tension.
There is a small red mole under my left eye.
The fingers that were supporting her eyes suddenly fell on the red mole, gently pinching it as if to pick it up.
"Hmm..."
Jiang Fengyi let out a muffled groan from deep in her throat.
He promised to give her eye drops, but instead he started groping her face.
Xu apologized incredibly quickly, speaking before Jiang Fengyi could even utter a word: "Sorry, my hand just got itchy."
This time, she stopped touching things randomly and looked around aimlessly, focusing intently on putting eye drops into Jiang Fengyi's eyes.
She coaxed softly, "Open your eyes and look up~"
"Yes, that's it~"
"Don't blink, it's not done yet."
"Good job, that's great!"
Being earnest enhances a person's charm, and when Xu Que spoke softly to coax Jiang Fengyi, the people below shyly tried to avoid his gaze.
But at this moment, she was held in the other person's arms, with one hand supporting the back of her head, holding her in place to prevent her from escaping.
Jiang Fengyi could only accept Xu Que's burning breath and sweet words. As long as she obeyed Xu Que's requests, compliments would flow freely from his mouth.
Those who knew her would think she was putting in eye drops, while those who didn't would think she had accomplished something great.
Jiang Fengyi was shy and felt embarrassed by the praise.
To cut off the source: "Don't open your mouth!"
Xu asked with a hint of resentment in her eyes, "Are you not even allowed to speak?"
Jiang Fengyi blushed and said, "Are you kidding me again!"
