Side Story: Time Traveler? Mountain of Despair? (Part 2)

Large ships dock at the beach on the edge of the Ghost Mountain Range.

More than thirty ordinary students and ten instructors from Zifeng Academy, who were at levels four to six, disembarked, while another six flew ahead.

The six men, five in front and one behind, were all dressed in white robes.

The robes of the five people behind are embroidered with scattered parts of a clock: hour hand, minute hand, second hand, disc, gear, etc.; the robe of the person in front is a complete but twisted clock.

"Let's go." The leader spoke up. He was the one who initiated this "inspection". Apart from a certain boy in a wheelchair, none of the other teachers and students knew where he came from. They only knew that he was a top expert whose cultivation level had reached the eighth level.

The group stepped onto the white sand beach, and after only a few hundred steps, they approached the dark earth that stretched endlessly into the distance beneath their feet.

White sand and black soil, clearly defined boundaries.

The white line contains not a trace of black, and the black line contains not a speck of white. It is a very precise and strict long line, and even the most discerning Virgo cannot find fault with it.

But this is problematic: even if it's just the sea breeze, over time, a large amount of scattered white sand should accumulate on the black soil.

Therefore, all 40-plus people stopped at the edge of the white line, and no one crossed the line.

They had a feeling that once they set foot on this black earth, it was as if they had entered another world, from which they could never leave or return.

No one moved for a long time.

"snort!"

A man in white robes waved his hand, and a gust of wind rose from the ground.

A young man was then pushed onto the black earth by an invisible shockwave. He was so frightened that his face turned pale, and he lost his balance and fell face-first to the ground.

A front tooth broke off, adding a bright spot to the pitch-black world.

The crowd stirred slightly, observing his reaction.

The young man scrambled and crawled around for several minutes before finally managing to crawl less than three meters back to the white sand beach.

He patted his clothes and got up.

He looked around and found that his arms and legs were still there. He sensed downwards again, but he still hadn't changed his class to a female mage.

After a while, he started to laugh: "What is this? It's just a mere Ghost Mountain Range. Look how scared you all are."

He grew bolder, repeatedly jumping back and forth at the boundary, which was very provocative.

The group was relieved and gradually crossed the line between black and white.

"Brother, let's go," Huo Lan said.

Sitting in his wheelchair, he looked at the relaxed and cheerful crowd and couldn't help but shake his head and chuckle.

Knowing that their destination was deep in the mountains, He didn't care about the hopping of a flea, especially since the six large ones in the sky hadn't even reached His mouth yet.

Huo Lan chuckled to herself, "Besides, I'm here."

As he drew closer, he felt as if some old memories were being unlocked in his mind.

His mind was slightly dazed, just as he had discovered the incomplete magical divine authority within his body years ago, and now some more fragments of memories appeared in his mind.

But... it's less about those memories reviving from the mind and more about those memories returning!

As if a certain moment was about to arrive, he was getting closer and closer to the truth of his birth, and so new memories were injected back into him.

After the group entered the dark plain, the front tooth disappeared into the ground, as if swallowed by a swamp.

"Brother, which do you think is better, eternity or a fleeting moment?" Huo Lan asked casually on the way.

"???" Huo Yang asked, puzzled, "Isn't this definitely eternal?"

After all, "eternity" must contain countless moments.

Huo Yang's thinking is very straightforward.

Bigger is better, more is better.

However, the five Moon-level mages in the sky looked ahead in astonishment. The noble Sun-level mage paused slightly in mid-air, his figure frozen, and he almost fell down.

The great mage's expression was uncertain. These two words wouldn't normally be anything special, but now that they were about to face the most outrageous chaotic event in forty thousand years, someone among their group had mentioned these two words.

A thousand years ago, the previous High Priest of Time sacrificed himself to the Source Liquid in an attempt to peek into the source of the chaos.

He heard only a murmur, followed by countless intertwined sounds, a chaotic and terrifying whisper containing an ultimate regret beyond human comprehension.

{For…eternity, I…in an instant…}

—The deepest part of the mountains.

A grotesque, indescribable mass of hideous, viscous flesh partially encased a pavilion, a building of unparalleled beauty that surpassed even the finest human craftsmanship.

Inside the building, ten exquisitely beautiful, naked young women were cleaning the body of a withered, decaying male corpse.

Their beauty was enough to overshadow an era for hundreds or even thousands of years, but unfortunately, the girls here only had flesh and blood, without soul.

To be precise, their so-called souls are merely puppet wills formed by shattering and reassembling other souls.

Glug glug glug...

Amidst the thick, nauseating noises, a mouth-like vocal organ proliferated from the flesh, emitting a heavenly, girlish voice that spoke an ancient divine language that had been extinct for countless billions of years.

"Reinhard, wait a little longer."

"Immediately, immediately I will be able to reap the harvest of humanity in this era. I will sacrifice that mysterious being who holds the divine power of time in exchange for your soul."

"Wait a little longer, you have to wait a little longer, I'll be here waiting for you."

When she said the last few words, she even sounded playful and cute.

...on the ground.

The group of 46 people traveled for half a day, flying over a dark mountain, and finally saw a small village on this black land.
