"No, you don't have to feed me." He Tingjun's ears turned red instantly. He coughed lightly to cover up and took the cup of water with his free hand: "I can do it myself."
Yun Qiao let go and said, "Then drink it yourself."
"Yeah." He Tingjun looked up and gulped down all the water in the cup.
As soon as he put down the cup, Yun Qiao immediately took it from his hand and asked, "Do you want to drink more?"
He Tingjun immediately shook his head: "I don't want to drink anymore."
I urinate a lot because I drink too much. I’m getting an injection right now and it’s inconvenient to go to the toilet.
He asked Yun Qiao: "Yun Qiao, am I okay with my injury?"
"It's nothing serious, just a concussion. You need to lie down and recuperate for a few days. Try not to get out of bed for the next few days."
He Tingjun was not surprised.
He and Qin Zheng were too close to the location where the bomb exploded. The shock wave generated at the moment the bomb exploded was huge. It was common to be knocked unconscious, and concussions were also common.
He Tingjun was even more thankful: he was dressed warmly in winter, so the shrapnel didn't penetrate his clothes. It wasn't just the shrapnel from the explosion that would have been enough to injure him. The tiny metal fragments could have pierced a person like a sieve, making them difficult to remove.
He Tingjun asked again: "Yun Qiao, when was I sent here? Were there other people sent here with me?"
"I don't know." Yun Qiao shook his head and said, "I just came to the military hospital. When I arrived, you were already here."
Yun Qiao asked him, "Brother He, who are you looking for? Perhaps I can help you find a list of the injured admitted to the hospital."
"Okay, thank you for your help. I'm looking for Qin Zheng, the Qin of Qin and Han, and the Zheng of unyielding character."
Yun Qiao nodded: "Okay, I'll help you find it when I get back."
He Tingjun didn't know how long he had been unconscious, so he asked, "Yun Qiao, what day is it today?"
Yun Qiao replied, "Number 16."
"Morning or afternoon?"
"afternoon."
He Tingjun breathed a sigh of relief when he heard this: "That's good."
"What do you mean?" Yun Qiao asked with some confusion.
"Nothing, I was just trying to gauge how long I'd been unconscious." He Tingjun explained, then asked, "What about you? Why didn't you stay in the company and suddenly come to the military hospital?"
"The military hospital is short of staff, and they've already transferred staff to the farm hospital twice in a row. I was initially assigned to help out at the farm hospital, but because of my good performance, I was temporarily transferred to the military hospital early the next morning to help out."
Yun Qiao said, "Brother He, you may not know this yet. I passed the hygienist exam a few days ago and am now a hygienist."
"So impressive." He Tingjun's eyes lit up: "Congratulations on getting what you wished for."
At this point, Yun Qiao said apologetically, "I still have to give injections to other wounded comrades. Brother He, please stay here for a while. I'll come see you when I'm free."
He Tingjun immediately said: "Then go quickly, I'm fine."
"Brother He, I'll leave first and come back later." Yun Qiao left with the treatment tray.
He Tingjun watched her leave the ward for a moment before reluctantly looking away.
He Tingjun lived in a triple room. The two beds next to him were occupied. One of the people had his eyes closed, and it was unclear whether he was asleep or unconscious. The other one had a bandage on his head and his left arm was hung with gauze.
He was a very outgoing person. As soon as Yun Qiao came, he started talking to He Tingjun: "Brother, which regiment are you from? I'm a soldier under Captain Qin of the Eighth Regiment. I'm Xiaohui, a platoon leader. What about you?"
"He Tingjun, from the Second Regiment, is a company commander."
He Tingjun's answer was concise, but his fame couldn't be overstated. As soon as he mentioned his name, a look of sudden enlightenment appeared on Hui's face: "Ah, so you are the famous He Tingjun. I've heard of you."
"What have you heard about me?" He Tingjun was also curious about what kind of reputation he had.
"You're the strongest soldier in our border military region! Everyone knows you! You're capable and handsome. I heard many women are lining up to go on blind dates with you, but you're unwilling."
When Hui Hui said this, an expression of envy and jealousy appeared on his face. "Captain He, I just can't understand it. The female comrade has already put aside her pride and come to you, so why are you still unwilling to go on a blind date with her?"
He Tingjun: "Because I don't want to get married yet."
"What? You don't want to get married?" Hui was extremely surprised. "How can there be people who don't want to get married? Don't you yearn for a life with a wife and children?"
He Tingjun was stunned for a moment, then after a few seconds he said, "I haven't thought about it yet."
"That's the wrong person." Hui said sullenly, "You haven't met someone you want to start a family with yet. When you do, you'll just want a wife and children and a warm bed."
He Tingjun was silent for a moment, then said noncommittally, "Maybe."
Anyway, he hasn't thought about it yet. His mind is still full of guilt for coveting the younger generation.
Hui: "By the way, Captain He, do you know the new nurse who just arrived?"
He Tingjun said 'hmm'.
"I heard you call her Yun Qiao?" He asked, "It's a nice name. What's her last name?"
He Tingjun's ears pricked up instantly. He glanced at him warily and said unhappily, "Why are you asking this?"
"Because I'm curious." Hui replied as if it was a matter of course, "Isn't it okay to just ask casually?"
"No." He Tingjun refused bluntly: "Don't ask about the identity information of other lesbians for no reason."
"What's the matter? She's your sweetheart! You're protecting her so tightly and don't allow others to ask about her."
