Chapter 464: Uproar (1/2)

Feng Juan put herself in Yan Jingwan's shoes and considered it. Not to mention her stepmother, even her biological mother would rarely be so careful and thoughtful in considering her daughter-in-law's wedding.

She is a very good person herself.

Yan Jingwan was touched and nodded: "Okay, I'll listen to you."

Feng Juan smiled with relief: "Okay, then you two should discuss it and pick a suitable date. We can book a restaurant in advance and prepare everything necessary to save you from being scrambled when you get married."

Yan Jingwan and Qin Zheng nodded in agreement.

This was the first time Yan Jingwan visited Qin Zheng as his future daughter-in-law, and the atmosphere during the whole meal was harmonious.

Today is Chinese Valentine’s Day, and there will be a movie screening in the small auditorium.

After dinner, Yan Jingwan and Qin Zheng wanted to go to the small auditorium to watch a movie and asked Yun Qiao if he wanted to.

Yun Qiao held his waist and waved his hand: "I can't sit for more than an hour watching a movie now. You guys go ahead, Tingjun and I are going to go out for a walk."

Yan Jingwan said 'hmm': "Okay then, let's go together."

Feng Juan escorted the two to the door, took out a red envelope from her pocket, and stuffed it into Yan Jingwan's hand: "The future daughter-in-law is entering the house for the first time, so you have to give her a gift. It's not much money, so use it to buy some clothes from the public commune."

When the future daughter-in-law visits for the first time, the in-laws give her a red envelope to show that they are satisfied with the girl. Not giving any means means they are dissatisfied.

This custom is common in many places, so Yan Jingwan did not refuse. She accepted it and said, "Thank you, Auntie."

"You guys go ahead." Feng Juan said with a smile, and then instructed Qin Zheng: "After the movie, send Jingwan back home."

Qin Zheng: "I know."

After leaving Yun Qiao's house, Qin Zheng and Yan Jingwan walked side by side towards the small auditorium.

It was completely dark, and there were no lights in the alley except for a dim streetlight at the entrance. It shone from afar, stretching the two people's shadows very long, overlapping at an angle.

The night breeze blew gently with a hint of coolness.

Yan Jingwan was wearing a short-sleeved shirt. When the cool breeze blew, she subconsciously raised her arms, crossed her hands in front of her chest, and rubbed her arms against each other.

"Cold?" Qin Zheng asked her.

Yan Jingwan shook her head: "It's not cold, just a little chilly. It will be fine after we get to the small auditorium."

"Would you like me to lend you some clothes?"

"No need." Yan Jingwan refused: "The small auditorium is indoors and there are many people. It will feel hot sometimes."

"All right."

Qin Zheng pursed his lips, slowly stretched out his big hand and held her hand.

Yan Jingwan was slightly surprised and turned to look at him.

Qin Zheng, however, faced forward, looking straight ahead without looking at her, but slowly adjusted their hands so that their fingers were tightly clasped.

In the dim light of the street lamp, Yan Jingwan noticed that his ears were red.

The lights were dim along the way, and the road ahead and the figures around could not be seen clearly. Qin Zheng held Yan Jingwan's hand tightly and did not let go. When they finally arrived at the small auditorium, the palms of their hands were sweating.

The lights in the small auditorium were bright, and Qin Zheng finally released Yan Jingwan's hand, reminding her: "Be careful on the steps."

They arrived a little late, and the small auditorium was almost full of people. All the good seats were taken, and the last two of them found a seat at the very back.

The movie started playing. It was a classic love film, "The Story of Liubao", which was released in the late 1950s.

Yan Jingwan had watched this movie several times and was very familiar with the plot.

She was looking at the screen, but she was a little distracted because Qin Zheng's hand was holding hers again under his seat.

Yan Jingwan's heart beat a little faster. She turned her head slightly and looked at Qin Zheng beside her. He was staring at the screen with a serious look on his face, as if the person who had quietly reached under the seat and held her hand was not him.

She tried to pull her hand back, but Qin Zheng held it tightly, showing no sign of relaxing. He even scratched her palm gently and reminded her seriously, "Focus."

Yan Jingwan: “…”

Who is not paying attention?

She was not as thick-skinned as Qin Zheng, and could not resist him, so she had to give up struggling and let Qin Zheng hold her hand like this.

The images on the screen kept changing, but Yan Jingwan's mind was not on the movie at all.

They watched the movie in one go, and when the lights in the small auditorium came on, Qin Zheng didn't let go of Yan Jingwan's hand. He held her hand, followed the crowd out of the small auditorium, and sent her back to the cultural troupe dormitory.

Qin Zheng stopped downstairs of the dormitory, gently squeezed her palm, and said, "I will hand in the marriage report tomorrow."

"Okay." Yan Jingwan nodded: "I'll hand it in tomorrow too."

The corners of Qin Zheng's mouth rose uncontrollably. He suppressed the urge to pick her up and spin her around, and said, "Let's go upstairs. Let's go back and get some rest early."

Yan Jingwan hummed and waved at him: "You should go back soon too."

"I'll see you go upstairs before you leave."

"Then I'm going to go."

"Let's go up."

Yan Jingwan turned and walked upstairs, but stopped halfway and turned back to wave at him.

Qin Zheng smiled and waved at her. He stood there watching her disappear from the stairs before turning around and leaving. He couldn't help laughing as he walked. He walked faster and faster until he finally ran around the family compound several times before he used up all his excess energy. However, when he finally returned home, he had to take two cold showers.

He was so excited that he couldn't sleep at night, so he simply got up, turned on the desk lamp, took out a pen and paper, and carefully filled out the marriage report with his upper body naked.
