Chapter 464: Uproar (2/2)

He scrapped several versions, either because he disliked the ugly handwriting or because the pen left too much ink and the writing was not smooth. He wrote on a thin piece of paper until late at night before he finished a version that he was satisfied with. The next morning, he went to the office of Commander Liang early without even having breakfast and placed the completed marriage report on the desk of his old leader.

"Good morning, Chief."

Commander Liang had just arrived at the office, making tea by the window. He glanced at him and said, "Qin Zheng, you just got back yesterday. Why are you reporting to work today? You must be exhausted after being away for two months. Are you sure you want to take some rest?"

"Of course I need to rest. I don't plan on returning to the team right away. I came to see you today mainly because I'm a little anxious."

At this point, Qin Zheng smiled sheepishly, pointed to the paper on his desk, and said, "I need your approval urgently for the marriage report."

Teacher Liang raised his eyebrows in surprise, then burst into a hearty laugh. He stretched out a finger and pointed at Qin Zheng in the air, saying with a smile: "You old boy, you are in your thirties, and you can finally be considered as leaving the ranks of bachelors. I will approve it for you right away."

He took a sip of tea, put down the teacup, and walked towards his desk, laughing and teasing him, "Which woman is so capable that she could win over a stubborn unmarried person like you?"

"The person you know is not an outsider, but Comrade Yan Jingwan from the Workers' Union." Qin Zheng replied with a smile, "Aunt Cui introduced us to each other before, but at that time, we were almost destined to be together, so it didn't work out."

Commander Liang paused, picked up the paper on the table and took a closer look. Sure enough, Yan Jingwan's name was written on it.

He remained calm and asked with a smile, "Last time it was almost fate, but it didn't work out. How come it worked out this time?"

"Or maybe we're destined to meet," Qin Zheng said. "I was assigned to Suibin for disaster relief this time, and I happened to run into Jingwan at a place called Fuqiang Farm over there. Isn't that a coincidence?"

Commander Liang nodded: "It's quite a coincidence."

"We are destined to meet each other despite being thousands of miles apart. We are meant to be a family." Qin Zheng shook his head proudly. His mature and steady temperament disappeared and he was as happy as a young boy.

After a few words, Qin Zheng urged Commander Liang to sign: "Commander, Jingwan and I are both people you know well. If there is no problem, please sign and approve it immediately. We also want to go to the commune to get our marriage certificate while we are on vacation and at home these few days."

"No rush, no rush." Commander Liang held up his marriage certificate and said with a smile, "We need to get to know each other better, and there are procedures to go through. You go back first. Once the procedures are completed, I will sign it immediately and let Xiaohai notify you."

"Then you must remember this, don't forget it."

"Don't worry, I won't forget you." Commander Liang said teasingly, "I've been waiting for more than ten years. I've been looking forward to attending your wedding banquet."

Qin Zheng stood at attention and saluted him solemnly: "Thank you, Chief! I'll let you be the witness!"

Commander Liang nodded slightly and waved at him, "Go back and have a good rest for a few days. Once the marriage application is approved, I'll have Xiao Hai take you home."

"Okay, then you go ahead and do your thing. I'll leave first."

After Qin Zheng left the office, Commander Liang looked at the marriage report on the table and pondered for a moment. Then he picked up the receiver and dialed a number: "Please connect me to the Beijing Army Headquarters, Chief Yan."

Qin Zheng didn't know that as soon as he reported his marriage, his immediate boss called his future mother-in-law.

Yan Jingwan was unaware that the marriage report she submitted had caused an uproar in the labor union.

When the news came out, Chen Rong cried secretly, and the actors who were friends with her gathered in her dormitory to comfort her.

Yan Jingwan was also tidying up her room in the dormitory. Zeng Ping took a wet cloth to help her wipe the table. While wiping, she secretly observed Yan Jingwan's expression.

Yan Jingwan seemed to be awake.

Zeng Ping couldn't help but say, "Don't you mind?"

"What's the matter?" Yan Jingwan didn't even raise her head.

Zeng Ping said: "You and Shen Rong are friends, but she likes your boyfriend."

It's innocent to like someone. Yan Jingwan has no control over who Chen Rong likes.

What she always hated was Chen Rong's secret affair.

If Chen Rong had the courage to snatch it openly, she might even look at her with a higher regard.

"It's her freedom to choose who she likes. I have no right to interfere." After saying that, Yan Jingwan corrected him, "Besides, Qin Zheng and I were not in a relationship before."

"She's not right, either. She knew Captain Qin liked you." Zeng Ping said anxiously, "Many people in the group knew she liked Captain Qin. It was obviously you who liked her first, but she started crying and made it seem like you had let her down."

"Facts speak louder than words. The truth is not about standing on the side of whoever cries or pretends to be pitiful." Yan Jingwan didn't agree with this.

She has already decided where to go. If all goes well, she will soon leave the labor group and be transferred elsewhere.

Someone she would never have any dealings with in the future wasn't worth her bothering or even glancing at.

Zeng Ping opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but in the end she just sighed and said, "Comrade Yan, you have such a good attitude. When will I be able to be as open-minded as you?"

"With more experience, you naturally become less concerned." Yan Jingwan patted her shoulder. "Think positively. If you're not envied, you're mediocre. They're jealous of you, so they form cliques behind your back to exclude you. You backing down is exactly what they want."

Zeng Ping understood these principles. Humans are social animals, and it is their instinct to desire to fit into a small group. Even if they understand them intellectually, it is difficult to truly break free from the control of these emotions emotionally.

Zeng Ping couldn't help but sigh again and changed the subject: "You're getting married to Captain Qin soon, so you probably won't be coming back to live here anymore."

Yan Jingwan: "It's not that I shouldn't, it's that I definitely won't come back to live here again."

Where there are many people, there are also many conflicts. The two labor unions she had worked in were full of intrigue and deception.

She had no regrets about the previous one, and naturally the same was true for this one.

My only friend is also insincere, there is really nothing to be nostalgic about.

Zeng Ping smiled and said, "I was talking nonsense. You're getting married, so of course you'll live with Captain Qin in the future."

As they were talking, someone knocked on the dormitory door.

Yan Jingwan went to open the door, and Chen Rong was standing outside.

"What?" Yan Jingwan had no expression on her face.
