Chapter 40: The Information Was Incorrect

The two headed towards the hideout of the Mist Demons, encountering many more Mist Demons fleeing in their direction along the way.

The appearance of these Fog Haunters caused a thick white fog to rise around them. Since this was in the suburbs and further out, the surrounding lights were sparse, and visibility decreased after nightfall. Now, with the thick white fog, it was impossible to see the road or find a way to get around.

Shang Yan now only prays that he and Zhou Ping don't get lost.

"Zhou Ping..." Shang Yan pulled the person behind him forward. When he saw that Zhou Ping did not respond, he turned around and was so frightened that his soul almost left his body.

The person he was leading wasn't Zhou Ping; it was clearly a Misty Ghost.

Shang Yan quickly released his grip and swiftly drew his sword to slash at the Mist Demon.

However, this Mist Demon was extremely skilled, easily dodging Shang Yan's slashing blade and even snatching the blade from Shang Yan's hand!

"Damn it..." Shang Yan didn't hesitate at all and turned to run.

This Mist-Hidden Ghost was clearly not at the Zhan Realm level. He rashly confronted it, and even with the All Things Revive buff, he still couldn't defeat it. If he didn't run away, he would either be torn apart or passively beaten.

Shang Yan ran very fast.

Behind him, Zhou Ping, whom Shang Yan mistook for the Mist-Hidden Ghost, was also chasing very fast.

For some reason, Shang Yan suddenly hit him. Zhou Ping certainly couldn't lay a hand on Shang Yan, so he stepped in and took Shang Yan's knife.

Unexpectedly, after taking the knife, Shang Yan stopped fighting and ran away as fast as he could.

Zhou Ping stretched out Er Kang's hand and shouted, "Shang Yan, it's me!"

The sound was very loud, and Shang Yan, who was running ahead, paused and looked back uncertainly.

That powerful Mist Demon actually made out Zhou Ping's voice, calling out to him?

During the brief pause Shang Yan made, Zhou Ping caught up, asking, "Why did you suddenly run away?"

Shang Yan watched the Mist Demon getting closer and closer, took a step back, and swallowed hard. "Stop, stop, stop! Just stand there and don't come any closer!"

"..." Zhou Ping lowered his eyes, threw the knife next to Shang Yan, and did not come any closer.

【019, do you think that's Zhou Ping?】 Shang Yan felt that there was something wrong with his eyes, or that he was under an illusion.

"Yes, host, are you delirious?" 019 asked with concern. "Don't be afraid, host. Quickly pick up your knife! A large number of Mist-Hidden Demons have appeared ahead!"

After receiving confirmation from 019, Shang Yan quickly picked up the knife and moved closer to Zhou Ping. "There are Mist-Hidden Ghosts coming this way."

"Hmm." Zhou Ping glanced at Shang Yan with concern, then stepped in front of him to block his path. "Be careful."

Shang Yan must have been confused and mistook him for someone else. He probably isn't better now either.

Zhou Ping glanced at Shang Yan, who was two steps away from him, and his eyes darkened. He then charged forward with his sword in hand.

Shang Yan followed closely behind.

A thick fog had risen around them, and within the fog, dozens of pairs of eerie red, inhuman eyes stared intently at them.

Why are there so many Fog Concealed Ghosts hiding in this place?

Shang Yan took a look at the number of the Mist-Hidden Ghosts surrounding him and Zhou Ping, and vaguely felt that something was wrong.

The information that Captain Chen had previously gathered was clearly incorrect; it seems the information was wrong.

After gripping the knife tightly, Shang Yan found a target and charged out with the knife.

While the battle on his side was fierce and protracted, Zhou Ping simply swung his sword, and the battle ended silently.

Just as Shang Yan turned around after killing a Misty Ghost, Zhou Ping was looking at him with his sword in hand.

This time, Zhou Ping was no longer mistaken for Wuyin Gui. Zhou Ping's appearance became clearer in his vision, just like Shang Yan, who had been keeping his distance from him, moved closer.

"I don't know why, but I mistook you for a Hidden Mist Demon just now..." Shang Yan said apologetically, then looked up and stole a glance at Zhou Ping.

When Zhou Ping saw Shang Yan walk to his side, his tense face relaxed a little, and this time he reached out his hand to Shang Yan.

"Huh?" Shang Yan was taken aback at first, then put his hand on it again.

"Walking like this is too slow," Zhou Ping said abruptly as he ran alongside Shang Yan.

The two of them weren't actually running very slowly, given their physical abilities.

Hearing this, Shang Yan quickened his pace. "It's alright, I can go even faster."

Zhou Ping pursed his lips. "I have a solution."

He seemed to have never done this before, and his voice sounded a little nervous.

She was so nervous that she unconsciously curled her hand slightly when holding Shang Yan's.

"What method?" What method? Can't they make them fly, can they?

"Do you want to give it a try?" Zhou Ping's palms were sweating with nervousness.

What should I do... I'm so afraid of being rejected.

Will Shang Yan notice something...?

"Sure, let's go!" Shang Yan readily agreed.

What he didn't expect was that the very next second after he agreed, he felt a sense of weightlessness and was lifted up by Zhou Ping around the waist!

"Hey, no..." But do you want to experience the speed of flying?

Why did you suddenly pick him up? Shang Yan blushed. He had never been held like this before, and he shifted uncomfortably. "My legs are fine, I can walk..."

"Didn't you say you'd give it a try?" Zhou Ping didn't let go. He had been honest for over ten years, but this was the first time he had done something like this. When he held Shang Yan, his mind was a little dazed.

"I'm not lying to you." After saying this, he took Shang Yan and used his lightness skill to catch up on the road. They ran very fast, much faster than before.

The surrounding scenery was flashing by rapidly. Shang Yan only had time to reach out and put his arm around Zhou Ping's neck. "This is too fast, brother, it's a bit too fast!"

Although their posture was a bit strange, it didn't matter. At this speed, they should be able to reach their destination soon.

On the way, Shang Yan even saw Zhou Ping occasionally swinging his sword to kill those Mist Ghosts.

The "Revival of All Things" buff that Shang Yan applied to Zhou Ping gave him a buff that restored his physical and mental strength. Despite killing so many Mist Ghosts along the way, Zhou Ping's physical strength was not depleted at all.

"Shang Yan, they're under attack." Zhou Ping turned his wrist and stopped with Shang Yan.

Shang Yan quickly got out of his arms, took out a knife, and rushed inside.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's fight!" The intelligence this time was obviously wrong. There were hundreds of Mist Ghosts in this hideout. Zhou Ping had killed most of them along the way. Shang Yan originally thought there would be fewer Mist Ghosts around this hideout, but he didn't expect there to be even more.

The hideout had been blown up, and the Mist-Hidden Demons poured out, scattering in three directions.

"Shang Yan, what brings you here?"
