Chapter 41 A group fight instead of martial ethics

It was Chen Muyi. He had just arrived from his location, with Wen Qimo following behind him.

It seems he's finished clearing out the Mist Demons over there.

After beheading a Mist-Hidden Demon blocking his path with a single stroke, he looked at Shang Yan and Zhou Ping who had arrived, "Old Zhao hasn't come yet... Did something happen to them on their way here?"

Shang Yan reacted almost immediately. After realizing what was happening, he grabbed his knife and rushed south. If you looked closely, you could see that the trees around him were slowly withering.

"I'll go help them!" After Shang Yan rushed out, Zhou Ping, who had been watching his movements, paused in his sword strike. This time, he swung his wooden sword very quickly.

Among the group of Mist-Hidden Ghosts surrounding them, three were at the Sea Realm level, hidden in the mist and difficult to see clearly.

Just as Chen Muyi and Wen Qimo were preparing to fight the Mist Ghosts surrounding them, the battle ended amidst the surging sword energy.

"I'm going to help Shang Yan." After saying this, Zhou Ping grabbed his sword and ran quickly in the direction Shang Yan had gone. He was a little anxious and ran very fast.

He knew Shang Yan's forbidden abilities; they were more of a support type. Otherwise, Shang Yan wouldn't have had such a hard time fighting just now. If there had been more Mist Ghosts surrounding him, he might not have been able to handle them.

Zhou Ping's face was tense. Shang Yan had just rushed out, and if it weren't for the group of Misty Ghosts blocking his way, he would have caught up with him long ago.

Chen Muye looked at Zhou Ping's retreating figure, then at the corpses of the Mist-Hidden Ghosts scattered on the ground. "How many sword strikes did he just use?"

“…Two sword strikes.” Wen Qimo fell silent. “What realm is he at?”

“It should be above the Sea Realm. Strange…why does he seem like an ordinary person, both in appearance and in his senses?” After saying this, Chen Muye picked up his sword and chased after him.

Forget it, now is not the time to think about these things.

Old Zhao's side of the Mist Ghosts hasn't been dealt with yet, so I'll go help them first.

Wen Qimo caught up as well, "I didn't expect Shang Yan's friend to be so amazing, and he doesn't look that old."

At such a young age, he already possesses strength exceeding that of the Sea Realm.

When Zhou Ping arrived, Shang Yan was being ganged up on by ten Mist Ghosts. He was fighting with a knife in his hand, saying, "If you come any closer, I'll unleash my ultimate!"

"They have no sportsmanship and they're ganging up on each other!" Shang Yan was kicked, and by sheer coincidence, the kick landed on his waist.

"Kid, you think you can reason with them?" Zhao Kongcheng was also exhausted at this point. He had come with Hongying this time.

With a sweep of her crimson spear, she pierced right through the Mist-Hidden Demon, who was hiding in the mist behind her and trying to ambush her. "There are too many of them. It seems there's one of them who's at a higher level who hasn't made a move yet."

Shang Yan directly applied the "Revival of All Things" buff to Hong Ying. Even amidst the siege of the Mist Demons, he didn't forget to greet them, "Long time no see, Hong Ying!"

"I heard you've been busy lately, I thought you wouldn't be coming this time... Hey!" Shang Yan slashed with his knife, skewering two Mist Ghosts onto a candied hawthorn skewer at a tricky angle.

He had already used his other skill, Libra, without anyone noticing, and the life force of the Mist Demons surrounding him was rapidly draining away.

"Damn it, no sportsmanship!" After bending down to dodge another attack from a Mist Demon, Shang Yan's face was disfigured.

"Shang Yan!" Zhou Ping, who had rushed over, saw Shang Yan's face covered in graffiti and, without thinking, swung his wooden sword at him.

With his sword strike, he killed all the dozen or so Mist Ghosts that were besieging Shang Yan. After killing them, he plunged into the mist to chase after the Mist Ghost that had been watching from the sidelines without making a move.

After Shang Yan's side of the Mist Ghosts was wiped out, he turned around and ran to help Hong Ying and Zhao Kongcheng. In no time, he took care of the remaining Mist Ghosts.

As the surrounding mist gradually dissipated, Zhou Ping's figure slowly came into view, with red blood dripping from his wooden sword.

"Phew... Shangyan, is your classmate that powerful?" Before Zhou Ping even made a move, the Sea Realm Mist Ghost had already been killed.

Hongying held the gun, breathing softly. She had recovered for a while.

Zhao Kongcheng punched Shang Yan, "Good lad, so you weren't just bragging yesterday!"

"Absolutely, I'm not exaggerating, he's really amazing," Shang Yan patted his chest and waved to Zhou Ping.

Zhou Ping, who was standing not far away, walked over. He first looked Shang Yan up and down, his gaze lingering on Shang Yan's scratched cheek, and then looked at Zhao Kongcheng and Hong Ying, who were smiling and looking at him with a probing gaze.

He spoke somewhat awkwardly, "Hello."

"Good evening, Zhou Ping!" Shang Yan, knowing him well, responded loudly in support.

Hongying and Zhao Kongcheng exchanged a glance, then greeted Zhou Ping, "Good evening..."

Hongying: Is this his opening line?

Zhao Kongcheng gave him a wink: He's rather introverted, so let's respond a bit.

Otherwise, if only Shang Yan responds, wouldn't that create an awkward silence?

Seeing that the two people had responded to him, Zhou Ping forced a shy and kind smile.

Then he turned to Shang Yan, who was watching him from the side, and said, "You're injured."

"It's nothing, just a minor injury," Shang Yan waved his hand dismissively. "Those Mist-Hidden Demons are really uncivilized; they actually scratched my face!"

Seeing the three scratches on Shang Yan's left cheek, Hong Ying comforted him, "I'll bandage them for you when we get back. They'll heal in a few days."

"Okay... uh, could I take some of the medicine with me?" Shang Yan said somewhat embarrassedly, "We've finished clearing out the Mist Demons here, and this mission is considered a complete success. Zhou Ping and I are going back to Xijin City in a couple of days. I'm sure I won't be fully recovered by then, so I'd like to take some medicine back with me."

His face was scratched quite badly by the Hidden Mist Ghost; he'll definitely get a lecture from his family when he gets back.

"Take whatever you want. I see you came from the direction of the hideout. Has everything been taken care of over there?" Hongying asked Shangyan.

Shang Yan turned to Zhou Ping. He had arrived in such a hurry that he was unaware of what had happened around the hideout.

Zhou Ping nodded after meeting his gaze. "Everything over there has been cleaned up."

"Then our mission has been successfully completed. We should go back and get some rest..." Hongying stretched, her voice filled with joy.

Zhao Kongcheng relaxed a bit, and his gaze shifted to a familiar figure. "Isn't that the captain?"

Chen Muye and Wen Qimo arrived.

Seeing that the group was standing there unharmed, with only a few bruises on their bodies and no serious injuries, Chen Muye breathed a sigh of relief.

"Mission accomplished, time to head back!"

"Alright, let's go."
