Chapter 9 I Want to Bring It Back

Chapter 9 I Want to Bring It Back

The weather in City A is always so unpredictable.

One second the sky was cloudless, and the next second there was thunder and lightning.

Perhaps it was because of the medicine, or perhaps it was because he was too tired, but Wang Yan curled up on the sofa and fell asleep as soon as it got dark.

Su Yueming, lying on the large bed, couldn't fall asleep no matter what he did; the room was too quiet.

It was as if he was the only person left in the world, and Wang Yan was just a figment of his imagination.

Su Yueming struggled to sit up, using the little bit of vision beneath his tie to try and look towards the sofa.

Wang Yan was lying on the sofa with his legs slightly bent. His furrowed brows and the hair on his arm covering half of his face betrayed his unease and anxiety.

It felt like tiny, dense steel needles were falling on Su Yueming's heart, causing him to feel a pang of heartache in an instant.

Lightning flashed outside the window, illuminating the entire bedroom. The instant the thunderclap struck, Su Yueming yelled, "Thunder! Thunder! How scary!"

Wang Yan suddenly opened his eyes, his heart pounding irregularly in his chest.

After confirming that the sound came from Su Yueming on the bed, he rushed to the bedside barefoot, his voice filled with worry, "What's wrong? What's wrong with you?"

Su Yueming reached out his hands haphazardly to grab Wang Yan's fingers, seemingly trying to gain some sense of security.

Without hesitation, Wang Yan extended his hand, allowing Su Yueming to grasp it firmly.

"Tell me what happened?"

Wang Yan tried to soften his voice.

"I'm scared, I'm scared of thunder." To make the performance convincing, Su Yueming deliberately made his voice sound choked up.

Su Yueming was afraid of thunder, something Wang Yan hadn't expected.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here."

Wang Yan could only keep comforting Su Yueming, gently rubbing the back of his hand with his fingers.

A fierce wind whipped up a torrential downpour, and raindrops pounded against the glass like stones, making a mournful sound.

"Then come to bed with me, okay?"

Su Yueming slowly uttered those words.

Looking at Su Yueming's red lips, Wang Yan instinctively wanted to refuse; he wasn't a monk.

Before he could even say his refusal, Su Yueming pitifully added, "I'm really scared."

“Alright,” Wang Yan conceded again, “but let’s make this clear first, you asked me to accompany you.”

Su Yueming nodded vigorously and began to move his body to make room for Wang Yan.

Wang Yan silently recited "Amitabha" twice in his heart.

With a determined heart, she lay down beside Su Yueming.

Their arms were pressed tightly together, and the temperature in the air seemed to rise.

Wang Yan was terrified that Su Yueming would hear his heart pounding like a drum, so he asked, "Why are you afraid of thunder?"

Su Yueming deliberately turned his body to the side, leaving a fist's distance between the two of them.

"You want to know?"

"Um."

Su Yueming blinked slowly, and long-forgotten memories flooded back. "It was a thunderstorm like this when I came home from school and found that my dad had brought a strange woman home."

Wang Yan was completely taken aback by this, and his eyes widened in surprise.

“You know what? My parents have always been the epitome of love in my heart. They gave me complete maternal and paternal love.” Su Yueming paused for two seconds. “So at that moment, my worldview was about to collapse.”

"I'm sorry, maybe I shouldn't have asked."

Wang Yan looked at Su Yueming with remorse.

"It's nothing, I've moved on." Su Yueming smiled indifferently. "When I grew up, I found out that they had actually divorced a long time ago, but they just never told me."

Perhaps the highest level of love is seeing through the other person's feigned strength.

Wang Yan knew his words were too empty, so he raised his hand and gently patted Su Yueming's shoulder.

Su Yueming followed suit, burying his head in Wang Yan's neck.

The warm breath brought a ticklish sensation, but Wang Yan did not flinch, instead letting Su Yueming lean on him.

Su Yueming hadn't intended to make it this sentimental, but once the door to memories was opened, it was no longer something he could escape.

Su Yueming didn't cry when he saw that picture, nor did he cry when he learned that his parents had long since divorced.

But when he rested his cheek on Wang Yan's shoulder, Su Yueming felt an urge to cry.

Outside the window, lightning flashed and thunder roared, but inside the house, everything was unusually calm and peaceful.

It was as if nothing could disturb them.

After an unknown amount of time, Su Yueming's breathing became steady, and he fell asleep.

Wang Yan silently gazed at Su Yueming's profile, unable to help but sigh again, "Such perfect bone structure."

He truly had no idea that Su Yueming also had so many unsatisfactory things to do.

It's impossible for everything to go perfectly in life.

So he silently changed his prayer for Su Yueming to one of peace, joy, and good fortune.

The heavy rain outside the window gradually subsided, and the strong winds also stopped.

Wang Yan consciously moved his body, wanting to get off the bed.

Lying in the same bed with Su Yueming is too much.

However, as soon as he propped himself up, Su Yueming's leg was placed on his waist, preventing him from moving at all.

Wang Yan felt his pupils shrink.

He tried carefully to remove his leg, but before he could succeed, Su Yueming's body pressed down on Wang Yan's chest.

After struggling for a long time, Wang Yan couldn't even put one foot on the floor, and he was covered in sweat.

Overwhelmed by drowsiness, Wang Yan could no longer hold on.

The bed is so comfortable. But as I lie on the pillow, my eyelids feel like they're glued shut, and I can't open them no matter what I do.

Finally, Wang Yan lay down on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.

After realizing that Wang Yan had fallen asleep, Su Yueming, who had been pretending to be asleep, slowly opened his eyes.

Although the tie obscured his vision, it did not hinder his intuition at all.

He slowly moved closer to Wang Yan.

A kiss filled with intense love landed on Wang Yan's cheek.

His heart felt like it was going to jump out of his throat, and Su Yueming subconsciously pursed his lips, as if savoring the moment.

After a while, Su Yueming moved again, and he slowly took Wang Yan's drooping left hand.

In the early morning, the first rays of sunlight shone in.

Wang Yan's biological clock made him open his eyes on time.

The ceiling and the chandelier were still the same.

He is still alive today.

He was about to make a move when he realized he couldn't lift his left hand.

Wang Yan subconsciously turned his head to look and saw Su Yueming lying next to him, his left hand unable to be raised because he was holding Su Yueming's hand.

Wang Yan's face flushed red instantly.

The images from last night flooded him like a tidal wave, and his ears instantly turned red and hot.

He quickly released Su Yueming's fingers and then quickly got off the bed.

Just as Wang Yan was about to escape, Su Yueming, who was lying on the bed, did not give him the chance to hide.

"You held my hand all night yesterday."

Wang Yan swore to God that he really didn't know why this was happening.

Could it be that his body was sleepwalking without his knowledge?

"Is...is that so?" Although Su Yueming's eyes were covered, Wang Yan still felt that he had seen through her. "I don't remember."

“You can’t deny the facts just because you don’t remember,” Su Yueming said with certainty. “You held my hand all night.”

Wang Yan lowered his eyes, somewhat at a loss. "Then what do you want to do?"

"I want it back."

"Why are you coming back?" Wang Yan's voice was tinged with embarrassment. "Are you going to beat me up?"

"Of course not."

"What is that?" Wang Yan couldn't think of a better way to return it.

“I want to bring it back,” Su Yueming continued, “the kind of thing where I lead it all night long.”
