After Wu Sicheng left, An Moxue took the patient's temperature every half hour and fed him water with a small spoon. More than an hour passed, and although the fever had not subsided, it had not risen either. The patient was relatively stable, which An Moxue thought was a good sign.
Suddenly, the door opened, and Wu Sicheng came in carrying a bundle. He handed the bundle to An Moxue and said, "Here, this is the medicine."
An Moxue took the bundle, opened it, and began mixing the medicine, while Wu Sicheng started looking for nails to hammer into the wall.
The medicine was prepared here, and the nails were hammered in there.
An Moxue hung up the IV drip and, for the first time in her life, gave someone an injection, which went in smoothly. Seeing the blood return, An Moxue removed the tourniquet and secretly breathed a sigh of relief, worried that she might have missed the injection and delayed the patient's treatment.
When she adjusted the medication's rate, she finally sat down in the chair, looking exhausted. She said, "This is the first time in my life I've had a wound stitched up and the first time I've had an injection. I hope he gets better."
Wu Sicheng looked at An Moxue and said, "Thank you."
An Moxue said, "As long as his fever breaks tonight, it won't be a big problem, and he will definitely get better."
Wu Sicheng looked at the IV drip and said, "Take a nap. After the injection and your fever goes down a bit, I'll take you home."
An Moxue said, "Let's not talk about this now. Let's talk about it after the fever goes down and the medicine is finished."
And so, neither of them spoke again. An Moxue had been busy all night and was too tired to talk. The main reason was that it was her first time and she was too nervous, which caused her to concentrate so much that she was so tired.
Wu Sicheng was preoccupied with his comrade-in-arms, wanting to keep an eye on him and wishing that his fever would subside in the next second.
And so, dawn broke, the needles were removed, and the patient's temperature dropped from 42 degrees to 39 degrees.
An Moxue left behind wound medicine, gauze, and antipyretics. Wu Sicheng took her home and arranged to pick her up again that evening to give the patient an injection.
That evening, when Wu Sicheng came to pick up An Moxue again, he no longer showed any signs of anxiety.
He said to An Moxue, "Moxue, he has woken up. He didn't have a fever during the day, but it rose to a little over 38 degrees Celsius at night. He took the fever reducer you left, and now the fever is gone. Only his lips have a layer of skin burned off. We are so grateful to you this time."
"You didn't say my name, did you?"
"No, I didn't call your name when he was unconscious last night, so don't worry!"
"Okay, let's go then! If he insists on asking, just say I'm not an Osiri, and don't say anything else."
"Okay, whatever you say."
After the two finished talking, An Moxue and Wu Sicheng left the house. Wu Sicheng was still riding his motorcycle with An Moxue on the back. Tonight, Wu Sicheng was not in such a hurry, so he was not riding the motorcycle as fast. But when An Moxue got on the motorcycle and put her arms around his waist, he was still very nervous and his whole body tensed up subconsciously.
But he pretended to be nonchalant, and An Moxue didn't point it out. The two of them walked all the way to the place where they had parked yesterday.
After getting out of the car, Wu Sicheng secretly let out a breath, and his body slowly relaxed.
Once inside the house, Wu Sicheng spoke first, saying, "Old Fu, this is the person who treated you last night. She's here to check on you again, and after that, she'll give you an injection. Trust me, in a few days, you'll be bouncing around again."
"Thank you." The tall man, who was over 1.8 meters tall, could only utter these two words weakly.
An Moxue didn't say anything, just smiled, put the thermometer on his arm, then opened the wound to take a look, cleaned the wound, changed the dressing, and changed the gauze.
Then they started preparing the medicine, hanging the IV drip, and giving the injection. After the injection, they took out the thermometer and glanced at it. It was 37.9 degrees Celsius. They changed their voice and said, "Your temperature is okay. If you feel hot, take it. Take your medicine promptly if you have a fever. If there are any further problems, come find me."
Then, An Moxue started packing her things, and Wu Sicheng said to the patient, "I'll take her there. You keep an eye on the medicine bottles."
Then Wu Sicheng and An Moxue went out of the house. Outside, An Moxue said, "Judging from this, the fever should be gone by tomorrow. Eat well these days so you can recover faster, but don't eat greasy food. Keep it light. Don't come to pick me up tomorrow, I'll come by myself."
Wu Sicheng said, "You don't have any transportation, how are you going to get here? Let me pick you up!" Deep down, he still wanted to spend more time with her, even if they didn't talk.
"It's alright, we'll go buy it when it's light." This was no big deal for An Moxue.
Wu Sicheng was still a little worried and said, "Can you drive? If not, I'll pick you up! It'll be safer that way."
"Then I'll give you a ride back, and you'll see if I can drive or not." An Moxue thought mischievously, "I'll floor the gas pedal and see if you're afraid of riding in a fast car. Some people dare to drive fast but not ride in a fast car."
And so, on the way back, An Moxue rode her bicycle with Wu Sicheng sitting on the back.
An Moxue waited until Wu Sicheng got on the motorcycle, and before he was even settled in, she stepped on the gas, and the motorcycle shot off.
Wu Sicheng leaned back slightly due to inertia, but he quickly grabbed An Moxue's waist to avoid falling. An Moxue said, "Hold on tight, don't fall."
An Moxue stepped on the gas again, and the car reached its lowest speed. The surroundings were already dark, and now they were even more blurry. All that could be heard was the sound of the wind whipping up by the motorcycle.
Wu Sicheng told himself that he must be careful when talking to women next time. This is almost flying; if there were a speed even faster, she would be even faster!
She sped back to An Moxue's house, got out of the car, and said only one sentence: "I'll go by myself tomorrow night, you don't need to pick me up." Then she turned around and went through the gate, closed the door, and went inside.
Wu Sicheng vaguely saw the light inside the house, shook his head, and said helplessly, "Fine! I won't pick you up tonight."
Then, he rode away on his motorcycle.
When Fu Shanyue returned to his place, before he had even finished the first bottle of medicine, he saw Wu Sicheng return. He was somewhat surprised, not expecting him to come back so quickly.
"So soon, with a beauty by your side, why not stay a little longer?" His listless words were full of teasing.
Wu Sicheng glared at him, his eyes full of warning, and said, "Alright, stop making fun of me. He saved your life last night, so you should respect him. Look at you, lying there like you're about to die. You should close your eyes and get some rest! Even in this state, you still can't help but insult me. That's all you've got."
Fu Shanyue asked seriously, "Is this person reliable?"
He was not only worried about himself, but also didn't want to implicate Wu Sicheng. His main priority was to complete the mission.
Wu Sicheng glanced at him and said, "What, you want to kill someone if she's unreliable? Don't worry! There's no one more reliable than her. Don't ask about anything else, just focus on recovering."
Fu Shanyue wanted to say something, but Wu Sicheng said, "Shut up! You don't need to worry about it."
