Chapter 62: Candy
Su Nian seemed to have no idea how much of a temptation she was to Ling Shen. She looked like an unsuspecting little animal, completely unaware of how her every breath and every look stirred up huge waves in Ling Shen's heart.
"What's wrong? Why is your face so red? Do you have a fever?" Su Nian looked at Ling Shen's increasingly red face, and with some worry, she stretched out her head to touch Ling Shen's forehead.
Just as his cool palm was about to touch Ling Shen's forehead, his wrist was suddenly gripped by a scorching force. The next second, a dizzying feeling of weightlessness washed over him. He cried out in surprise as his back landed gently on the soft bed. The unfinished warm water in the cup spilled onto the edge of the bed, leaving a small dark stain.
The laces of the black nightgown loosened during the struggle, and slowly slid from the shoulders to the elbows, revealing the delicate jade-like skin from the shoulders to the collarbone, which glowed brightly under the warm yellow light.
Su Nian blinked blankly, the figure of Ling Shen looming over him clearly reflected in his dark pupils. He could feel the violent rise and fall of Ling Shen's chest, and those eyes, usually gentle and smiling, now seemed to be burning with two flames, so deep that they almost swallowed him.
He didn't know that in Ling Shen's eyes, the red bedding was like spreading lust, and the collision of black nightgown and white skin was the most deadly temptation. And the unconditional trust in his eyes completely broke through all of Ling Shen's restraint, making the beast in his heart no longer able to hide.
"Anian, my Anian." Ling Shen's voice was very hoarse and trembling with uncontrollable force.
He lowered his head, and his warm lips first gently fell on Su Nian's cheek, as carefully as if treating a rare treasure, and then slowly moved down along the jaw line and stopped at the slender neck.
At first it was just a gentle kiss, with restrained tenderness, but when he felt the slight shrinking and dependent response of the person in his arms, his rationality completely collapsed, and the kiss gradually became eager, with tiny nibbles, leaving bright red marks on the fair skin, like red plum blossoms blooming in the snow, particularly eye-catching.
Su Nian's originally clear eyes were gradually covered with a layer of mist under Ling Shen's passionate kiss and hot body temperature, becoming blurred and seductive.
He unconsciously raised his hands and loosely embraced Ling Shen's neck, exposing his fragile neck to Ling Shen more openly. His body also involuntarily moved closer to Ling Shen, as if eager to absorb more warmth and love.
Su Nian's brows furrowed as she jerked her head back, her fingers digging deep into Ling Shen's back. Ling Shen felt the reaction of the person in his arms and paused abruptly. He suppressed the surging desire and looked down at Su Nian beneath him.
The sweat from his forehead slid down his temples and dripped onto Su Nian's collarbone, carrying a salty and bitter temperature. The sweat from his chest also soaked each other's clothes, making their skin stick closer, as if they were about to merge into one.
The drop of sweat slowly slid down the collarbone, bringing a strange itchy feeling, which instantly cleared Su Nian's chaotic consciousness a little.
He looked at Ling Shen's red eyes, which were filled with hidden desire and deep love. His heart softened, and he propped up his slightly trembling body and leaned close to Ling Shen's ear. His warm breath brushed across Ling Shen's sensitive earlobe, and he whispered in a low voice that only the two of them could hear.
Just one sentence, like a thunderclap, completely ignited the fire that Ling Shen had suppressed for so long. His already sweaty body instantly became even hotter, and the aura around him became even more scorching.
Ling Shen could no longer bear it, so he tightened his arms and hugged the person in his arms tightly, as if he wanted to rub him into his bones and blood, expressing the love and desire hidden deep in his heart in the most intimate way.
The sour and numb feeling was like an electric current, coming from every nerve ending in the body, impacting Su Nian's senses in waves.
He no longer had time to think about anything else. He could only hug Ling Shen tightly, giving himself to him completely, allowing himself to be overwhelmed by this surging love, and feeling the ultimate intimacy and attachment in each other's body temperature and breath.
After an unknown amount of time, the heat in the room gradually faded, leaving only the sound of their steady breathing. Su Nian leaned limply against Ling Shen's chest, her cheeks still flushed.
"I love you too"
Ling Shen lowered his head, placed a gentle kiss on the top of Su Nian's head, and gently stroked his back.
Su Nian felt the warmth of his embrace and the steady heartbeat of his heart. A whispered voice echoed in her ears, and a reassuring smile played on her lips. Her eyelids gradually grew heavy, and she finally fell contentedly asleep in Ling Shen's arms.
"Ding-ling—" The crisp sound of the wind chimes was particularly clear in the quiet bookstore. Li Li had just removed the filter paper from her hand-brewed coffee. The steaming heat misted over her glasses. She looked up and saw figures interlocking their fingers outside the glass door.
"Boss?" Li Li's surprised voice made everyone else in the bookstore look over at the same time.
Ling Shen held Su Nian's hand with one hand, and pushed open the door of the bookstore with the other hand holding a paper bag. The cool spring breeze followed the two of them into the bookstore.
This was Su Nian's first time back at the bookstore since his wedding. He had devoted almost all of his energy to decorating his new home, from selecting a Nordic-style rug to debugging the smart lighting system, and even handling the post-wedding thank-you arrangements.
At this moment, standing in front of the familiar walnut counter, looking at the brass reading lamps winding between the bookshelves, looking at the potted plants still placed on the windowsill, and even the sugar bowls in the coffee area are still the same as when he left, Su Nian felt a warm feeling in his heart.
Li Li did not disappoint him. Under her management, the entire bookstore not only maintained its original literary and artistic style, but also added a bit of warm life atmosphere.
"I'm here to bring you some wedding candy." Su Nian's eyes curved as she reached out to take the brown paper bag Ling Shen handed her. The bag was printed with hand-drawn chibi figures of the two of them, and the words "Let's Read Together for the Rest of Our Lives" were written in gold font.
Before he could finish his words, a sudden crashing sound came from the picture book section. Lin Xiaoyu's copy of The Little Prince fell to the ground, and Tang Tang even knocked over the wooden bookshelf next to her, sending several hardcover books scattering across the floor.
The two of them rushed to Su Nian like a 100-meter sprint. Tang Tang's ponytail swayed left and right as they moved. Her eyes were fixed on the platinum rings on their ring fingers. Suddenly, she screamed like a dolphin: "Boss! You guys actually...my couple has come true! Ahhhh, what kind of fairy tale love is this!"
Lin Xiaoyu's face flushed with excitement, her hands covering her burning cheeks, her eyes twinkling like stars. Ling Shen subconsciously pulled Su Nian behind him, watching the two "out-of-control" girls in front of him warily.
Li Li held her forehead in embarrassment, wishing she could find a hole to crawl into: "Well... Boss... they are just too excited, please don't mind it." Then she glared at Tang Tang who was still jumping around.
Su Nian was amused by this exaggerated reaction. She took out a wedding candy box with a gold-stamped double happiness pattern from the paper bag and gently opened it. "Want some? This is the sea salt caramel flavor Ling Shen specially selected for you."
Tang Tang quickly grabbed two and, while eagerly unwrapping them, mumbled, "Wow, my beloved couple is giving me candy... This candy is sweeter than honey!"
Lin Xiaoyu shyly accepted the wedding candy. Seeing Tang Tang dancing with joy, she suddenly realized her own misconduct. Her ears flushed red as she hurriedly pulled her still-chattering best friend toward the rest area, "Let's go, let's stop embarrassing ourselves!"
"Why are you pulling me? I haven't finished asking my question! Mmmm..." Tang Tang's protest gradually faded away as Lin Xiaoyu covered her mouth.
Su Nian looked at the bookstore, which had returned to its peaceful state, and her gaze fell on Li Li. The girl who had always dyed her hair rainbow colors and adorned her body with bells and sequins now had her black hair neatly tied into a low ponytail, with only a small ginkgo leaf hairpin pinned behind her ear.
But she still wore a colorful bracelet on her wrist, and there were cute succulent pots on the table.
These small details made Su Nian feel very close, but what made him most happy was the bright and confident light in Li Li's eyes - that was the calmness and stability that came from the heart.
"The bookstore is well managed. I didn't make a mistake in choosing this person." Su Nian praised sincerely.
Li Li's cheeks flushed, and she reached out to touch her burning ears with a bright smile: "I should be the one thanking you, boss. It's you who taught me that true security comes from giving yourself."
The sunlight shines through the glass windows, giving this warm scene a golden glow.
