Chapter 172 Controlling the Maze (Part Two)

I packaged the message as something like a Rubik's Cube that turns around after three turns and passed it to the shopkeeper. He gestured "OK" with his hand, and I started leading them to another path that was about the same distance away.

After a minute, I immediately made them turn around. Number Nine was clearly unhappy; I could even see the light near her finger.

However, I can only use this ambiguous way of communication to let them know, otherwise our plan will be exposed to those people, and it will be harder than climbing to heaven to come up with it.

After they turned around again, I timed it perfectly. Just as they reached the wall that was about to flash, I quickly sent them a message: "Spinning Kick".

The shopkeeper was trained, so with one kick, he created a clear exit.

Number Nine clapped and laughed beside her. The shopkeeper and she seemed to run over by stepping on the wall blocks. They opened a door, and inside was another maze!

“Ying’er, Master and Number Nine are missing. Can you check if there are any traces of them on the tablet?”

I beckoned Xie Yuancheng over to look: "Here it is."

"Ying'er!" Xie Yuancheng frowned and took the tablet away: "I told you not to cause trouble."

"Oh, how should I know?"

"This is an exchange space system simulated using artificial intelligence, but," Xie Yuancheng's eyes widened, "Ying'er is still smart, otherwise we would have a fierce battle later."

"Really? You're not lying to me?"

"When have I ever lied to you?"

“Often, they even treat me like a monkey.” I quickly changed my tune when I saw Xie Yuancheng turn his face away: “But I’m willing.”

"Stop joking. I'm watching from the side. You've already gone in. If we get through this maze, we'll win."

I facepalmed: "I won't be so playful anymore."

“Ying’er should be more playful. We originally planned to pretend to be on the verge of blowing up the base to lure them out, but we don’t need to now. As long as we get through this maze, all their core secrets will be exposed.”

Seeing that the shopkeeper and Number Nine were already studying it, I perked up again: "So I guess I'm pretty good after all."

"Of course." Xie Yuancheng placed the tablet in front of me and pointed at it, "Ying'er was able to lead Master out of the first maze, so the second one won't be a problem either."

“Turn around, I get nervous when you look at me.”

"good."

I saw him propping himself up on his hand while looking at the screen, and then I started looking at the maze. This maze was bigger than the previous one, and it was breathing fire everywhere, with some man-eating plants added to it.

They already know about our previous scheme, so this time we need to choose a more foolproof method.

I looked at the layout of the maze; it was incredibly simple, but every path I took led to a dead end. At the end, there was an active volcano and underground carnivorous plants waiting; if I accidentally stepped on one, I would disappear.

The shopkeeper and Number Nine walked very carefully, and some footprints began to appear on the ground. The footprints would automatically move away each time they encountered them.

I thought the footprints would be the key, but after looking at them several times, the footprints were just going in circles.

"They think they can trap me with such a petty trick?"

"Ying'er, what did you say?"

"They said you're good-looking."

I tapped the screen quickly, tapping each footprint a few times, and soon the footprints disappeared.

The sound of drums began to come from below, and I panicked. It was the sound of war drums. Was we going to have a battle in the maze?

Just as I was thinking this, I heard the sound of horses' hooves and some sounds of fighting.

Now I understand, it turns out that whatever I think in my heart will appear in my mind.

I wiped away the black spots, thinking I had removed them, but they kept coming back.

"Yuancheng, quickly turn off the power to the base. The manager and his team will come back from the tablets later, so they won't need those things."

"Close it, this is no small matter."

"You said you would believe me."

Xie Yuancheng nodded, and soon all the electric valves were turned off, so I couldn't sense any of the ugly ghosts I was thinking about anymore.

The shopkeeper and Number Nine were demolishing the wall. I pointed out the five black spots to them, and the shopkeeper and Number Nine began to divide the work.

Just after stepping on four black spots, those carnivorous plants and active volcanoes sprouted up. The shopkeeper pulled Number Nine and ran towards the empty space, quickly bypassing those things.

When they entered the blank area, I quickly pressed the alert button on the screen. Soon, the area was filled with the sound of sirens, which disturbed the carnivorous plants so much that they covered their ears.

A small corner was sticking out from below. I asked the shopkeeper to take a look, and he gave me a thumbs-up before dropping down with Number Nine.

After they closed the floor tiles, I pressed the right button, and soon the entire maze was flooded.

There were screams and shouts from inside, and walls were being smashed everywhere. Carnivorous plants were climbing up the city walls.

Soon, they transformed into the likeness of those ugly ghosts.

"Ying'er is truly a gamer; she can even guess that."

I smiled at Xie Yuancheng and said, "Yuancheng, you've been praising me a lot lately. You're too confident."

They were afraid of water, so I pressed the long right button again, and soon, the sound of water splashing was everywhere. I then added the wind attribute, making them sway precariously.

I laughed from the side, and then asked Xie Yuancheng to help the shopkeeper come back on the screen.

He was a little confused, but he still opened the workbench, and soon the shopkeeper's and Number Nine's faces appeared.

Xie Yuancheng typed in a bunch of code, while I played around with those ugly ghosts, letting them experience the harm and panic brought by various natural disasters.

I was having a great time playing when the shopkeeper and Number Nine popped out of the tablet.

The shopkeeper leaned back on the sofa on the other side to rest: "You two are really something. I had no confidence at all this time. Luckily, you two are smart."

“Master, Ying’er is just funny. I’ve already told her off.”

"Luckily, your wife is funny, otherwise we would have fallen into her trap this time."

Number Nine circled around me, and I handed the image to the shopkeeper for his decision.

“I suddenly decided that I want to take you back; your mind works really well with mine.”

I was startled. Number Nine changed his mind too quickly. I hid in Xie Yuancheng's arms.

"Number Nine, your place isn't suitable for us. You should go back by yourself."

Number Nine took out the red cloak: "This is too disgusting, you can take it back and play with it."

Xie Yuancheng hugged me and stepped back, saying, "No need. Our space doesn't have electricity or these things. You should take it back and wash it slowly."

"This doesn't need electricity, programming code, or anything else; it only needs the sun to work."

The shopkeeper also looked up: "Take it back and play with it. Maybe it will save you from disaster."

Xie Yuancheng then took it, and the red cloak looked brand new. "How did you wash it? There isn't a single trace or stain."

Number Nine sat smugly to the side: "If you come back with me, I'll give you all of this, how about it?"

I quickly shook my head: "Forget about it, you can keep it for your own research."

Xie Yuancheng placed the red cloak on the table: "It's just ordinary red cloth, enough to make a bath towel for Yu'er."
