"No, you can stay in your mother's arms. If you go with your father, you won't get to see your younger siblings."
I held Yu'er in my arms, refusing to let him leave, and he immediately grinned. He's such a little guy, so easy to coax. Xie Yuancheng watched us, mother and son, supporting himself with his hands, occasionally speaking up for me.

I simply closed my eyes; the carriage was so quiet, even the kingfisher had gone to sleep, and I could hear the wheels turning. Xie Yuancheng's heartbeat was right beside me, and it made me feel at ease.
"Let me massage your acupoints, and I guarantee you'll wake up feeling incredibly refreshed."
"And what about you?" I propped myself up. "You're always on edge, do you want me to give you a break?"
"If Ying'er insists, I'll stay with you for a short rest and promise not to look around with my eyes open. Actually, I get enough sleep every day; it's just that you don't know to look."

"Mommy~ It's beautiful." Yu'er placed a flower ball in my hand, and I used it to tease him. "Hehe~ Mommy~"
"What a soft and sweet boy, I'll cherish you." I hugged his legs and watched him turn the two flower balls over and over, his big eyes darting around, so lively and clever.
"Yu'er, look, this is what your father gave to your mother. When your father comes back, you can ask him for one too." I showed him the braised indigo bracelet on my wrist. Yu'er touched it all over and didn't even want the flower ball anymore.
