"Mother, Yu'er wants a chain."
I knew Yu'er would like it. I touched the chain on my hand and looked at him. Yu'er happily reached out to me, "Here you go, for Yu'er?"
"I want to give it to you, hee hee~" Yu'er's little hands were holding it in a very cute way. I patted his palm. "Mommy~ Yu'er wants a chain."
"This was made by Father for Mother. If Yu'er takes it, Father will be unhappy."
"Waaaaah~" Yu'er actually started pretending to cry, "Mommy, Yu'er wants a chain~"
"You little rascal, when your daddy comes back to Linyang, I'll make you a set, okay?" I hugged him and the little guy started to struggle, his short legs tensed up and wouldn't let go.
"If you keep causing trouble, my good son, I won't let you see anything good." I pinched his little nose, and Yu'er propped himself up to look at me. "This is what Daddy gave to Mommy. Do you want Daddy to make you a set too?"
"Waaah~" The little bean started pretending to cry again. I propped myself up on my hands and watched him act silly. Yu'er hugged the flower ball and went to play on the small blanket. I looked at his puffed-up little face, it was so funny.
"Yu'er, come play with your mother, I'll show you something nice."
"No! That's so effeminate!" This fickle person only remembered that one thing. I took a chain and a gold lock out of my pocket. "Effeminate~ Mwah~"
My face was practically covered in his saliva from all the kisses he'd given me. I brushed him away in disgust and wiped my face with a handkerchief. "You little brat, all you do is try to fool your mother. Is this gold lock for you to put on Yu'er?"
"Yes~ Mommy, give it to me~" Yu'er swayed back and forth, and I found it so adorable. I strung the gold lock on a thin chain and put it around Yu'er's neck. "Hehe~ So pretty~"
"That's a good boy. Yu'er, you can't run around everywhere, or your mother will be angry."
"Hehe~ Mother~" Yu'er is so easy to coax. She hugged my hand and rested it on her head, her little finger pinching the gold lock, looking at it everywhere.
Luckily, I asked my mother, and they said they hadn't made a gold lock for Yu'er. I have one here, made by Xie Yuancheng. He made three sets, and this one is for Yu'er. He said he would only give it to him if Yu'er went back and kowtowed, but I couldn't bear to see my eldest son staring at it so longingly, so of course I gave it to him to play with.
"Hehe~" Yu'er hugged Jin Suo and laughed happily, showing his little teeth. I laughed along with him. I wondered where Xie Yuancheng had gone, so I lifted the carriage curtain to look, but I didn't see him.
"Little Yu'er, come lie in Mommy's arms and I'll sing you a lullaby." I was worried that the carpet on the floor was still cold, so I held Yu'er in my arms, pinched his little face, and hummed a song I remembered to him.
"Mommy, Yu'er is so sleepy~" Yu'er rubbed his little face against me. I switched arms and held him in my arms. He should sleep more on the carriage. I coaxed him to sleep, and he fell asleep in no time.
"Little darling, rest for a while before getting up to eat." I wanted to lie down in his little bed, but unfortunately, there was only enough room for Yu'er to sleep in. If I were to sleep there, I would have to bend my legs.
"Xie Yuancheng, if you don't come back here, I'll pull your ear!" I whispered, and he actually lifted the curtain and came in. "You, how come you're always appearing out of nowhere?"
"I went to talk to my master and teacher. This is what my master asked me to give you." Xie Yuancheng handed me a fan. I quickly opened it and saw that it was just a painting of peacocks and peonies. It was too simple.
"You two chatted for so long, and my little darling fell asleep again while still awake. See, I'm good at comforting him, so I just let him be."
"No!" Xie Yuancheng put the fan in my pocket. "Ying'er, you can't try to bargain. Master has already left. I'm really useless at talking. He still doesn't agree."

"Right? That means Ying'er and I are good at having children. Yu'er is most like me, so we can't let him wear girls' things. I'll change it for him later, so he can grow up to be like me from a young age."
"I feel so bad for my son. Don't you dare bully my little Yu'er, or I won't warm your hands anymore."
