Chapter Fifty-Two: We Can Return to the Ji Residence (Part Two)

"The prince consort has arrived. Go and prepare some fruits and snacks for him."

After everyone in the hall had left, Consort Ji went in and waved to me.

"Ying'er, are you very happy to be back at the manor today?"

"Aunt, it's been almost a year since I've been back to the manor. I'm so eager to go home."

"That's good. Remember who got this for you."

"Isn't it Her Majesty the Empress?"

"Hmph, her? The Emperor wouldn't take her words seriously. It was only through my intervention that you were forced to retire to your residence."

So it was Consort Ji. I knew it! When did the Empress become so kind?

"Ying'er thanks you, Auntie."

"Get up quickly. It's a pity that Wan'er can't go with you. If she were carrying your child, things would be much easier later."

Consort Ji, you're dreaming. Even if I sleep with Wan'er, I can't have a child.

"Auntie, it's alright. I'll go back and take good care of myself. The most important thing is that I can see my mother again. I wonder how she is."

"Yes, I prepared some gifts, which have already been sent to the car. Thank you properly. Yuancheng is about to go to war, and now you will all be cut off."

I was still trying to conceive his child when Consort Ji broke us up.

"aunt."

"Ying'er, I can agree to anything you ask of me, except for this one."

"yes."

Anyway, since it was Si Shuang who married Xie Yuancheng, I'll just silently say it was me.

As I walked back with Granny Zhang, I felt someone behind me. I hoped it wasn't Cailu.

"Granny, have you noticed someone behind you?"

"Don't worry, Prince Consort, this place is close to the Eastern Palace, no one will cause trouble."

Looking at the familiar road to the East Palace, I really wanted to go in and see Li Ruowei.

"Your Highness, the Crown Princess requests your presence."

Unexpectedly, the person following them was the palace maid from that night.

"Please lead the way."

Granny Zhang tried to stop me, but I gave her a look that said, "Don't stop me, I really want to see her."

Li Ruowei was sitting in a pavilion not far away. After I went in, everyone else left.

"Princess."

She nodded and stood by the railing, and I followed her.

"Sister." I can only speak softly here. I wish she could come back to the manor with me.

"I'll see you off as you return home today."

Her voice was very soft; I don't know if the Crown Prince treats her well.

"Sister, I wish you could come back with me."

"You two have a good plan, no wonder you're a perfect match."

“He can’t come back with me.”

"Don't worry, he'll be leaving the palace tonight to go to the military camp for training. But the military camp is very close to the Prime Minister's residence and the Ji residence."

I laughed out loud; no wonder I hadn't seen anyone this morning.

"Alright, once Princess Cailu has chosen her husband, we can meet again."

I whispered in her ear, very quietly, but I knew she could hear me. I told her about our plans to get pregnant in just one sentence.

Tears welled in Li Ruowei's eyes, but she maintained a smile: "Princess Consort, please take care on your journey."

I left with Granny Zhang, and before we even went inside, I heard Cailu's voice. This person really dares to barge in.

"Your Highness, perhaps we should excuse ourselves for a moment?"

Where could she possibly hide? She must have heard I was going on patrol, so she came.

When I went in, I saw Li Zhaole sparring with her, sword in hand.

The two girls dancing and wielding sticks were such a sight to behold. If I had a Phantom Sword, I'd love to challenge them to a duel.

"Princess, swords have no eyes!"

Cailu turned around. She was dressed normally today, but her face was still a bit too glamorous.
