Consort Mu stood atop a high chariot, her battle robes fluttering in the wind, her gaze sharp as lightning, commanding her vast army. Under her leadership, the army surged forward like an unstoppable torrent, crashing down upon the enemy forces in the northern frontier.
The bugle calls resounded through the sky, and the war drums thundered. Consort Mu's army broke through the Northern Frontier army's defenses with lightning speed. Dust billowed wherever the horses' hooves trampled, and the faces of the Northern Frontier soldiers were filled with terror and despair.
"For the glory of the dynasty, charge!" Consort Mu's voice was firm and loud. Wherever her sword pointed, the soldiers charged forward like tigers descending a mountain.
The Northern Frontier Army proved utterly ineffective against Consort Mu's forces. Their formation was easily torn apart, and the soldiers scattered and fled, abandoning their armor and weapons, creating a scene of utter chaos.
Consort Mu's banner flew high above the battlefield, becoming a symbol of victory. "Consort Mu is mighty!" the soldiers shouted, their reverence and trust in her reaching its peak.
Under Consort Mu's leadership, they felt invincible and capable of anything. The battle quickly ended in a resounding victory for Consort Mu's army.
The northern frontier army was utterly routed, their generals were either captured or killed, and the remaining soldiers knelt down and begged for mercy, having lost all will to fight.
Consort Mu sheathed her sword, a satisfied smile playing on her lips. She knew this victory was not merely a military triumph, but also an affirmation of a woman's leadership abilities.
"Return to camp!" Consort Mu gave the order, and the soldiers cheered.
The chariot slowly drove into the camp. Although the soldiers had returned victorious, their faces could not hide their worry. As soon as Consort Mu stepped off the chariot, a soldier rushed in to report.
“Your Highness Consort Mu,” the soldier knelt, his voice trembling slightly, “the Qi Kingdom’s supply convoy was attacked by an unknown force on its way, and the grain could not be delivered on time.”
Consort Mu frowned slightly. She knew the importance of provisions to an army, especially in the face of frequent battles. She pondered for a moment, then calmly asked, "Have you ascertained the identities of the raiders?"
"Your Majesty, the situation has not yet been determined," the soldier replied.
The atmosphere inside the tent instantly became tense. The lack of provisions meant that the army's morale and fighting capacity would be severely affected. Consort Mu looked around, a determined glint in her eyes.
"Pass on my order," Consort Mu's voice was clear and firm, "All troops must immediately take stock of their provisions and distribute them rationally to ensure that every soldier receives the most basic supplies."
She continued, "At the same time, dispatch scout teams to strengthen patrols in the surrounding area to prevent similar incidents from happening again. In addition, immediately send an urgent report to the court, requesting that the court allocate new supplies as soon as possible."
Consort Mu's orders were swiftly relayed. Although the soldiers were worried, seeing Consort Mu's composure gradually reassured them. They believed that even in the face of adversity, Consort Mu would surely be able to lead them to a solution.
Under Consort Mu's command, the army began a tense but orderly self-rescue operation. Some soldiers began to gather wild fruits and game from the surrounding area to supplement their food supply; others were busy repairing the camp and strengthening its defenses.
As night fell, bonfires were lit in the camp. Although food supplies were scarce, the soldiers sat around the fire, listening to Consort Mu tell stories of ancient heroes, and their morale gradually improved.
Consort Mu sat inside the tent, toying with a jade pendant in her hand, pondering a strategy. She knew that this war was not merely a military contest, but also a test of wisdom and will.
Inside the tent, the lamplight flickered. General Xu, his hair white, still gleamed with an indomitable fighting spirit in his eyes: "Your Highness, Qiluhar is the capital of the Northern Frontier, no small matter. I am willing to lead the assault team to clear the way for the army and strike at the heart of the enemy."
Consort Mu looked at General Xu with a mixture of gratitude and worry. Although General Xu was experienced, he was quite old, and charging into battle would be extremely risky for him.
"General Xu's courage is commendable, but your safety is related to the morale of our army, so we cannot be rash." Consort Mu pondered for a moment, and then put forward her arrangements, "General Xu Yunchuan is both wise and brave. I order him to accompany you on the expedition to be responsible for covering and supporting you, so as to ensure that nothing goes wrong."
Although General Xu wanted to lead the army alone, seeing the resolute look in Consort Mu's eyes, he finally nodded in agreement: "This humble general obeys the order and will certainly not fail Your Majesty's trust."
Consort Mu continued, "I will personally lead the main force to bypass the main route and attack the west gate. Qiluhar's defenses are strong, and a direct attack will result in heavy losses. Only by advancing from multiple directions can we achieve a surprise victory."
General Xu Yunchuan stood to the side, young and promising, his eyes gleaming with a thirst for battle: "This humble general will certainly protect General Xu and ensure that the assault team has no worries about its rear."
Consort Mu nodded, full of confidence in Xu Yunchuan's abilities: "With you here, I feel at ease. This expedition is crucial to the course of the war, so all generals must be extremely careful."
Afterwards, Consort Mu and her generals discussed the battle plan in detail, scrutinizing every aspect to ensure it was flawless. As night deepened, the discussions within the tent remained lively, everyone making final preparations for the impending battle.
Consort Mu stood on the command platform, her figure appearing exceptionally upright in the torchlight. Her gaze swept over the neatly lined-up soldiers, each look filled with determination and warmth.
"Warriors!" Consort Mu's voice echoed in the night sky, clear and powerful. "Today, we have captured the enemy's city. This is the result of our joint efforts. But the road ahead is still long, and the northern capital city of Qiluhar awaits us."
