Chapter 63 Outing

After the opening ceremony, it was still early, so Xiaobao came over to play with Hutou and Yaya. Linzao also wanted to take the children out for a walk since they didn't have class today.

"Mommy, I want to go play on our family's estate!"

Tiger Head knew that his mother had bought a manor and would often go there, and he wanted to see what it was like.

Lin Zao thought that since arriving in Ganzhou, she hadn't taken her child out to relax. Today, the weather was nice, making it a good day for an outing.

"If you all want to go, I can take you, but you have to behave and not run around."

"That's great, Auntie! I'll help take care of my younger brother and sister! Let me go too!"

Xiao Bao turned his head and looked at Princess Cheng with anticipation. His father and mother rarely took him to the estate to play, and he really wanted to go!

Seeing Xiao Bao like this, Princess Cheng couldn't help but pat his head.

"Then you go with her, but don't bother your Aunt Tang. Don't go crazy, or there won't be a next time."

"Don't worry, Mother!"

Xiao Bao skipped and hopped to take Hu Tou and Ya Ya's hands, one in each hand, looking every bit the older brother.

Princess Cheng then gestured to the four guards to follow and protect the Crown Prince.

"Thank you so much, Madam Tang, for looking after Xiao Bao for me," Princess Cheng said with a nod of gratitude.

"Your Highness is too kind. I'd be happy to play with Xiaobao. Please rest assured that he can stay with me."

Without further ado, Lin Zao planned to take the children back first to make some preparations for their picnic.

Tang Jian seemed to be talking to Prince Cheng about something, as if they had something to discuss. Seeing that Lin Zao was about to leave with the child, Tang Jian asked Sun Ding and Tian Bu'er to follow along.

Seeing this, Tang's mother also planned to go back with Lin Zao and the others. She would ask Lin Zao to bring Aunt Ren along as well, and Tang Jian would have no worries since he had the prince's people to look after him.

After they returned, they prepared a lot of seasonings and tableware for hunting and barbecuing. They also brought some clean vegetables, otherwise eating only meat would be too greasy.

They also brought separate drawing boards and paper for the children so they could sketch and paint.

Sun Ding and his men, along with several guards, carried bows and arrows; as the main force for hunting, they needed to be well-equipped.

Lin Zao thought for a moment, then brought a crossbow for his own use and a hidden arrow for Xiao Bao. As for Hu Tou and Ya Ya, they were too young and would easily hurt themselves if they used the hidden arrow.

With everything prepared, the group rode in a carriage to the estate that Lin Zao had purchased.

When they arrived at the village, it was only just noon.

Lin Zao went to find Jiang Fu first, intending to ask about the situation, as she hadn't paid attention to the mountains behind them before.

Jiang Fu saw Lin Zao arrive with several guards and three children, and quickly went up to pay his respects.

"Master, you've arrived! Young masters and young lady, are you well?"

"You're too kind! I mainly brought the children here to play today. Could you recommend some places nearby that are suitable for children to play?"

Jiang Fu thought about what the children on the estate liked to play, and after thinking for a long time, he looked conflicted.

"Master, the only place suitable for children to play is probably that mountain in the northwest. The mountain there is relatively low, and the animals and wild beasts in the deep mountains won't come down, so it's relatively safe. The children in the village all like to go there to pick wild fruits."

There was another river where the children loved to catch fish and snails, but now the river was almost dry, exposing the muddy bottom. He figured these little nobles wouldn't play in the mud, so he didn't mention it.
