Chapter 297 Raising Zombies

Practicing the gun-firing technique definitely can't be done with supernatural bullets.

Moreover, having gone through this ordeal, Shen Jing understands that she still needs special bullets to shoot down those level-two zombies!

These superpowered bullets are just items in the game.

It's already good enough that she can have a physical form of it; she might even need it in the future. But since it's a game item, it'll probably be like the Ice Crystal—once lost, it's gone forever!

When viewed from a distance using night vision goggles, the body of this level-two zombie appeared enormous.

But when I got closer, I was surprised.

Shen Jing discovered that this corpse was definitely formed by fusing together many other corpses.

If all level 2 zombies are this difficult to deal with.

Those survivors are probably in grave danger!

It's estimated that it has already devoured quite a few humans thanks to its enormous, gaping maw on its belly.

The narrow path was completely blocked by its shape, and even if Shen Jing wanted to get through, she would have to walk through the dense forest on both sides.

Before Shen Jing had even climbed halfway up the slope, she heard Gu Yan's voice: "There's a snake, be careful."

In the darkness, Gu Yan was even more perceptive than Shen Jing, who was wearing night vision goggles.

He led the way with a stun gun.

Shen Jing looked around in the darkness, her nerves on edge, and then took out a lot of realgar powder from her spatial storage.

I wonder if these things will still be useful in the apocalypse.

Gu Yan quickly led her back to the path, and then they continued on their way.

Since level 2 zombies have already appeared on the road, it's best to finish this quickly. We don't know how many people are on the mission yet, and the worst-case scenario is that there aren't enough level 2 zombies to go around among so many survivors!

But that doesn't seem possible... The number of zombies is simply beyond imagination!

Having spent so much time on the road, the two of them are now working non-stop.

In the darkness, the sound would be amplified to the maximum, and the pale shadows of the trees under the moonlight were a stark contrast to the atmosphere of the base. The closer Shen Jing got to downtown C, the more eerie the city felt.

Shen Jing opened her backpack.

Then he replaced the bullets and stun guns for himself and Gu Yan.

The stun gun needs to be charged frequently in the space, but there's no such thing as solar charging in Eternal Night, so the space's power is consumed extremely quickly. Shen Jing also tries to play fewer single-player games; with this restriction, the space is indeed still not enough.

It's not always darkness and power outages; there might be earthquakes too.

Shen Jing didn't want to pay attention to the obvious schadenfreude in the space.

After the electronic sound came on, she slowly took out a bottle of water and drank it.

Because I was really afraid that if I went into the city where corpses were strewn everywhere, I would be overwhelmed by the stench.

Looking at the time, it was almost 8 p.m.

Shen Jing simply suggested, "Why don't we find a safe place to rest first?"

If a person loses their biological clock, they will become dazed and confused, and extremely tired.

Gu Yan had no objection to this.

Moreover, he had already begun looking for a suitable place to rest.

After he led Shen Jing to the hospital.

She looked at him with a complicated expression: "This is the perfect place to rest and recuperate that you were talking about?"

It's definitely not the closest place to hell.

The night vision goggles allowed them to evade the zombies while also providing a clear view of the horrific scene inside the hospital. There were children, young adults, the elderly, and even numerous maimed pregnant women, swarming densely around the hospital's main entrance and floors.

Even just seeing it from afar made Shen Jing's scalp tingle.

Gu Yan led her to the house across from the hospital and closed the door tightly.

He then pointed to the building opposite and said, "There are more than ten level-two zombies over there."

In other words, they can complete tasks simultaneously here.

Instead of wasting time searching for level 2 zombies.

Hearing Gu Yan's words, Shen Jing couldn't help but glance at him a few more times.

She had wanted to ask him before, how exactly did he know that the superpowered bullets could kill level two zombies?

Now's the perfect time to ask: "Can you sense zombies or what?"

Could it be the legendary sixth sense?

"I don't know... I feel like I'm naturally very knowledgeable about zombies..."

Gu Yan lowered his eyes, looking somewhat pitiful in Shen Jing's eyes.

This reminded Shen Jing of the fact that Gu Yan had a zombie king setting in the game... and in the dream, he did indeed become a zombie king!

"Ah Jing, what exactly is going on?" Shen Jing wasn't wearing night vision goggles indoors, so she couldn't see Gu Yan's expression clearly. But from his voice, she could tell that he was pretending to be pitiful again.

They had all become "normal" before, no longer hiding the darkness in their eyes.

But the pitiful voice still made Shen Jing pause.

She replied, slightly embarrassed, "Some people are naturally perceptive, and you might be one of them."

This is a classic case of shooting oneself in the foot.

I was originally going to ask Gu Yan why he knew so much.

Now I feel even more guilty.

Forget it, let's not bring up this topic again. Isn't this just asking the victim: Did you enjoy being abused back then?

Shen Jing took out the cooked food from the space and placed the small chair and table in the center of the room.

Then, while eating dinner, he used night vision goggles to observe the buildings across the street. The braised pork was stewed so soft and tender that it seemed to melt in his mouth, and just then, a zombie across the street was chasing a survivor.

Given their distance, they can only observe from afar.

Neither of them spoke, and they each ate in silence.

Although Shen Jing felt a little reluctant, no one can be a savior when you're out in the world. They were also participants in this mission, and their fates were equally uncertain!

The human who was just bitten was probably a survivor who came to the hospital on a mission.

Otherwise, who would come to the hospital alone at night—the place with the most zombies?

Gu Yan glanced at Shen Jing, "Those weren't from the Western Base."

After he finished speaking, he put down his chopsticks and began to carefully observe the floors opposite.

The reason I chose not to enter the space was so that I could stay informed about changes in the outside environment. Now, if there are other survivors fighting for monsters, they will be better able to assess the actual situation in the building opposite.

For example, the man just now went down to the first floor and was already pounced on by a zombie.

That person wasn't stupid; they always entered through the window with the fewest zombies.

Gu Yan was wearing a mask, so Shen Jing couldn't see his expression.

But just by looking into his eyes, which were flashing with a cold light, she knew that he had murderous intent.

"What happened?"

They were so pitiful just a moment ago, how did they change so quickly?

Gu Yan pointed to the opposite side and handed her the binoculars. "Someone is raising zombies in the hospital."

At first, Shen Jing didn't understand what Gu Yan was saying.

I've heard of raising chickens, ducks, and fish, but in the apocalypse, someone is raising zombies?

What exactly is going on?

She grabbed the binoculars and looked through Gu Yan's long, slender fingers.

"The southeast corner is the left side of the window where that man stepped."

As Gu Yan spoke, he seemed to recall something, and his expression grew increasingly subdued.

Upon seeing this, Shen Jing tried to remain calm and said, "That's not a laboratory."
