Chapter 66

Chapter 66

The mahjong tiles clattered on the eight-immortals table. Grandpa, wearing reading glasses, stroked the tiles with his fingertips, observing everyone's expressions from time to time.

Ye Shuyun crossed his legs, his gold-rimmed glasses slipped to the tip of his nose, and he always pondered for three seconds seriously before playing a card, which made Tang Ximian laugh so hard that his shoulders shook.

"Pong!" Grandma was quick-witted and slapped the red middle card onto the deck. She turned around and waved at Tang Ximian, "My dear grandson, peel an orange for grandma to moisten her throat."

Tang Ximian had just fed a slice of orange into her grandmother's mouth when she heard Ye Shuyun wailing, "Mom! You're taking my cards again!"

Tang Li held the mahjong tiles and suddenly asked, "Uncle, is this a pure suit?"

Ye Shuyun looked up suddenly, and the cards almost slipped from his fingers: "Little bastard, are you peeking at your uncle's cards?"

Tang Li said nothing, smiled, and threw the cards in his hand.

"Hey..." Grandpa flipped the cards over and said, "Win! Thirteen Yao!"

"Dad, you're cheating!" Ye Shuyun threw the cards in anger. "You clearly miscalculated three times. You must have secretly changed the cards!"

Grandma laughed so hard she couldn't straighten her back, her cane banging loudly on the ground: "You're the only one who's trying to be clever? Your dad was the King of Birds in Qingwa Lane back then!"

Tang Ximian squatted beside Tang Li with a fruit plate in his hands, watching him draw the cards skillfully.

"Brother, are you counting cards again?" he asked in a low voice.

Tang Li paused his fingertips and replied in a low voice: "A little bit."

Tang Ximian secretly gave him a thumbs up.

A new round of card games began. Ye Shuyun was extremely focused and ready to get serious. He stared at the deck of cards and played them very carefully.

Tang Ximian looked at his nervous expression and wanted to laugh, so he gently touched Tang Li with his elbow.

Tang Li nodded slightly at him, indicating that he should be at ease.

Halfway through the game, Ye Shuyun raised a smug smile, he felt that he had a sure win.

Just as he was about to play his cards, Tang Li suddenly put down his cards and said calmly, "Win, seven small pairs."

Ye Shuyun's eyes widened as he stared at the cards in disbelief. "How is this possible? I calculated everything perfectly!"

Grandma smiled and said, "Xiao Li is a smart kid. He's really good at counting cards."

Ye Shuyun grumbled unconvincedly: "No, try again!"

In the next few rounds, Tang Li and Ye Shuyun battled with wits and courage, and the game became more and more intense.

Tang Ximian watched intently from the side, sometimes cheering for Tang Li's exquisite card counting, sometimes laughing at Ye Shuyun's funny appearance.

Before we knew it, the sky gradually darkened and the card game on the Eight Immortals Table came to an end amid laughter and joy.

"Okay, okay, it's time to rest and play again tomorrow." Grandma stood up and asked everyone to clean up the card game.

Although Ye Shuyun still felt a little unsatisfied, she had no choice but to give up.

Tang Ximian helped her grandmother put the mahjong into the box. When she looked up, she saw Tang Li standing by the window. The moonlight outside the window shone on him, outlining his handsome figure.

He walked over quietly, bumped Tang Li's shoulder, and whispered, "Brother, you were so awesome today. You beat your uncle to a pulp."

Tang Li turned his head to look at him, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, "They are all tricks."

At this time, Ye Shuyun came over and put his arm around Tang Li's shoulders. "Xiao Li, who did you learn this card counting skill from? Your uncle will learn from you someday."

Tang Li smiled and said, "Okay, just wait for uncle to find me whenever you have time. I'm always here to accompany you."

The family walked upstairs to the room, talking and laughing.

After Tang Ximian returned to the room, he stretched, washed up, and lay down. After thinking about it, he felt that he seemed to have forgotten something, but he couldn't remember what it was.

"Never mind, just go to sleep. Dreams can be anything."

With a "click", the light turned off.
