Chapter 50 Spend 50

Chapter 50 Spend 50

The corridor outside the ward was so quiet that it was a bit depressing. The white walls looked a bit pale under the dim light.

Tang Li's injuries finally stabilized, but the tense atmosphere in the air did not dissipate.

Tang Ximian stood in front of the window, tapping the windowsill unconsciously with his fingers, his eyes full of fatigue and worry.

Delish gently opened the door, walked to Tang Ximian, and whispered, "There are some things I think you should know."

Tang Ximian turned around, looked at Delish, and nodded slightly.

Derich took a deep breath and spoke slowly. As he spoke, the clues of the kidnapping case gradually became clearer, and these clues were inextricably linked to his brother's injury.

When he heard the key point, Tang Ximian's body suddenly stiffened, as if he was frozen in time, his eyes full of shock and disbelief.

Si Yankai had been silently watching Tang Ximian from the side. Seeing his reaction, his heart tightened instantly. He hurriedly stepped forward and held Tang Ximian's hand.

The hand was cold and sweaty, trembling slightly in Si Yankai's palm.

"Xiaobao, calm down. Take a deep breath. It's okay."

Si Yankai's voice was soft and urgent, filled with deep worry.

He gently held Tang Ximian in his arms and stroked his back again and again, trying to comfort him.

Tang Ximian was like a person who had lost his way in the dark. When he heard Si Yankai's voice, he slowly came back to his senses.

He raised his head and looked at Si Yankai's face full of nervousness and fear, and a warm feeling surged in his heart.

She slowly reached out her hand, gently cupped Si Yankai's face, and forced a smile: "Don't be afraid, I'm fine, it's just an overreaction."

But the slightly trembling fingertips revealed the turmoil in his heart.

When they returned home from the hospital, the lights in the house were soft and warm, but they couldn't dispel the gloom in their hearts.

Si Yankai gently supported Tang Ximian and said softly, "Go and have a rest. You are too tired today." He knew that what he heard today was too heavy for Tang Ximian.

However, Tang Ximian shook his head slightly, walked straight to the sofa and sat down, then raised his head and looked at Si Yankai seriously.

Si Yankai's heart tightened, and he sat down opposite him, waiting quietly.

"Si Yankai, actually, I have been investigating what happened back then."

Tang Ximian's voice was soft, but it was particularly clear in the silent room. "I don't believe that the cause of what happened back then was just this. I know that you and my brother have been investigating as well.

But in truth, I didn't tell the whole truth back then." A trace of pain and struggle flashed in his eyes. "Now, my brother has been dragged into this again. Perhaps it's time to put an end to this."

Si Yankai listened quietly, his eyes focused and serious. Every word was like a heavy hammer, hitting his heart again and again.

Thinking of what happened back then, those forgotten memories suddenly flooded his mind, and his face turned pale. He looked at Tang Ximian, his eyes full of pity and guilt.

"It was my fault back then. I should have stayed with you all the time." Si Yankai's voice was a little hoarse. "Letting them take you away is the decision I regret the most."

His hands were clenched into fists, his knuckles turning white.

Tang Ximian sighed softly, his eyes filled with tenderness: "What are you talking about? How old were you back then? And it was me who wanted to go with them. It's not your fault."

There was a hint of helplessness in his voice, as if he was comforting Si Yankai, but also as if he was comforting himself.

The two fell into silence, and the air seemed to freeze.

After an unknown amount of time, Tang Ximian slowly stood up and walked to the window.

Outside the window, the night was deep, and the lights of the city flickered in the night. He looked out the window quietly, with sadness in his eyes, but there was still a glimmer of light.

"The matter should have been resolved long ago. I just didn't want to face it." Tang Ximian said softly, his voice firmer. "I hope I can be braver this time."

He clenched his fists slightly, as if to cheer himself up.

Si Yankai stood up, walked behind Tang Ximian, and gently hugged him from behind: "Don't be afraid, no matter what happens, I will always be by your side."

The two bodies pressed gently against each other, as if transmitting some kind of warmth or strength.
