Chapter 49 Spend Time Together
When I pushed open the door of the ward, the smell of disinfectant was lighter than during the day.
Tang Li leaned against the head of the bed, his right hand wrapped in bandages but still holding a book.
The silver glasses slid to the tip of his nose, and the sunlight from the window shone in. If you didn't know better, you would have thought it was a magazine photo shoot.
After seeing clearly what the book was, Tang Ximian suppressed his laughter and placed the pork knuckle soup on the bedside table. When he glanced at the diagnosis of "tibia and fibula fracture" on the medical record, his heart suddenly tightened.
"Drinking something to replenish what you need is feudal superstition."
Tang Li pushed his glasses up, but softened his tone when he saw his brother's red eyes, "But since so many people say it, it should be useful."
"Then drink more, brother, and make up for it sooner!!"
Tang Ximian was unpacking the bag when he heard some noise behind him and turned around.
Delish stood at the door with his lunch box and touched the handrail there.
"Sorry, I went to pack some snacks. It's a bit far, so I'm late."
Tang Ximian was about to speak when Si Yankai's fingertips suddenly pressed lightly on his lower back.
He looked up and met the man's gaze as he shook his head slightly.
So the words on the tip of his tongue changed, and he handed the warm pork knuckle soup to Delish. "Eat first. You look like you need some nourishment. You can have snacks later."
The atmosphere in the ward became tense during dinner.
Tang Li put down the spoon and the empty bowl, and was about to speak when his younger brother spoke first.
"Brother, tonight Iāā"
"I'll stay by your bedside and look after your brother."
Delish suddenly spoke, and the cutlery made a crisp sound when it hit the table. "Mianmian, go back and rest."
Tang Ximian gave him a look of disdain, as if to say, why don't you take a look at your mental state?
Besides, I have had enough sleep and can come over to accompany my brother.
Si Yankai's palm suddenly covered the back of his neck, and his fingertips gently stroked his sensitive skin, interrupting the words he was organizing.
The man turned to look at Delish, a gentle smile still on his lips. "But Brother Tangli said you haven't slept here. Amian and I will stay here with him. You can go take a nap now."
Delish looked up at Tang Li.
Tang Li looked at Delixi, who was frowning slightly and staring at him, and inexplicably thought of a lion cub.
He coughed to hide his smile.
He patted Derich's shoulder with his uninjured hand. "Listen to Yankai and go to sleep. With them here, it'll be fine."
After Delish left, looking back every few steps, Tang Ximian realized that Si Yankai's fingertips were still circling the back of his neck.
The tips of his ears felt hot and he stood up and walked away.
She reached out to grab the empty soup bowl, but Tang Li suddenly grabbed her wrist.
"Xiao Mian," Tang Li's voice was very soft, but the eyes behind the glasses were as sharp as a scalpel, "Come and talk to your brother."
The night wind outside the window lifted the curtains, and Tang Ximian saw the silhouette of Si Yankai standing on the balcony smoking.
As the sparks flickered, the man suddenly turned around and looked at him, shaking his phone screen at him.
The lock screen wallpaper was a photo taken at the amusement park. He was riding on the man's neck and reaching for the carousel. Si Yankai's palms were firmly supporting his waist, with an indulgent smile on his face that he himself didn't even notice.
My phone vibrated and a new message popped up: Your brother looks like he wants to dissect me.
Tang Ximian bit her lip and smiled, her fingertips flying across the screen: Who told you to touch my neck just now!
The other party replied immediately: Then touch the waist?
Before I could type, a warm breath suddenly hit the back of my neck.
Si Yankai returned to the ward at some point. His fingers slid from his waist into the hem of his clothes, leaving burning marks on his skin: "Xiaobao is blushing."
"Si Yankai!" Tang Ximian protested in a low voice, but breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Tang Li had closed his eyes and dozed off.
The man's nose brushed against his earlobe, and he whispered mischievously, "I'll take you to eat sweet and sour pork ribs tomorrow to make up for the bowl you didn't finish today."
The voice-controlled lights in the corridor suddenly lit up, and the dim light shone through the glass door, casting the shadows of the two hugging people on the wall.
Tang Ximian heard his own violent heartbeat, mixed with the ticking of the monitor in the distance, weaving a gentle net.
He thought, Si Yankai, how could there be someone like you?
Such a good person.
Thank you for always being with me.
