Chapter 48 Spend Time Together
I walked back to the door, and as soon as I went in, my tense nerves suddenly broke like a guitar string.
Tang Ximian slid down to sit on the floor while leaning against the cabinet in the hallway. His knees hit the marble floor but he didn't feel any pain.
A shadow suddenly fell overhead. Si Yankai squatted down and looked him in the eye, then gently touched his head as if he were treating a fragile glass cup.
"It's okay. Did it scare our Mian Mian?"
"No." Tang Ximian said stubbornly.
The man rubbed his thumb across the tip of his red nose, “That’s good.
You haven't rested for more than 20 hours, and your mental state is not good to begin with, so you must go to bed now."
Tang Ximian wanted to refute, but was deflated when he met those amber eyes.
Si Yankai is always like this, saying things in a casual tone that cannot be refused.
When he was picked up and carried sideways, he smelled the faint scent of cedar perfume on the man's neck, and his heart suddenly calmed down, as if a lost ship had finally returned to a gentle harbor.
"Si Yankai, thank you." His voice was muffled at the other's collarbone, with a hoarse nasal tone.
The eyelashes of the person in my arms cast tiny shadows under my eyes, like a butterfly flapping its wings about to fall.
Si Yankai's Adam's apple rolled, and he gently placed him on the bed, his fingertips running over his blue eyelids: "Thank you again and I'll kiss you."
Tang Ximian was so sleepy that she couldn't open her eyes, but she still stubbornly tugged at the other person's sleeve: "You... don't want to sleep?"
"Sleep." Si Yankai chuckled, took off his coat and lay down beside him, pulling him into his arms with his long arms, "Sleep with my little treasure."
When I opened my eyes again, the orange-red sunset glow that seeped through the gap in the curtains had faded into dark blue.
Tang Ximian sat up suddenly and bumped into Si Yankai who was half leaning against the head of the bed.
The man was wearing a black home suit with his collar open, revealing his smooth collarbone, and the tablet in his hand was lit.
"Why did it get dark so suddenly?"
Tang Ximian lifted the quilt and tried to get out of bed, but Si Yankai stretched out his long arms and pulled her back into his arms.
The tablet was carelessly thrown on the bedside table. The man's nose brushed against the tip of his red ear, and his voice was hoarse with a fresh awakening: "It's dark. I slept for five hours. Are you starving?"
Tang Ximian touched her belly and nodded vigorously.
Si Yankai ran his fingers through his messy hair and smoothed down his frizzy hair. "Let's go eat. Auntie has made some pork ribs and lotus root soup. Have a bowl before going to the hospital."
"Didn't you get any rest?"
Tang Ximian touched the faint dark circles under the man's eyes, and her fingers curled slightly when they touched the stubble. "The dark circles under your eyes are almost as big as a panda's."
Si Yankai bit his fingertips lightly, earning a muffled accusation in return.
The man laughed wantonly, grabbed his rebellious hand, pressed it to his lips and kissed it softly: "I slept with someone for two hours, and now I'm in good spirits and can carry two bags of cement."
Tang Ximian was amused and laughed out loud, but when he saw the clock on the wall, he suddenly struggled: "Oh no! Brother's dinner hasn't been delivered yet!"
When he rushed to the living room, Si Yankai had already picked up the thermal bag and used his other hand to catch his staggering body.
"Stupid, the soup is in the thermos, it can't get cold."
The man tapped his forehead with his finger, but when he looked up, he quickly pecked the corner of his lip, "Eat first, ok?"
"Eat, eat, eat. I'm starving too. Eat quickly. I'm worried my brother will be hungry in the hospital."
"Auntie, what delicious food did you make? It smells so good! I feel like I can eat a whole cow!" Tang Ximian ran over.
"I made your favorite braised pork ribs and crab roe buns. Auntie, I just made them today. I guarantee they're fresh and delicious."
"I'm in luck! Auntie's crab buns are super delicious."
When she heard this, the aunt laughed so hard that she couldn't stop.
"This child..."
