Chapter 36 Spend Time Together

Chapter 36 Spend Time Together

The evening wind from Country Y, wrapped in salty moisture, came in through the half-open car window.

Tang Ximian pressed his face against the cold glass, watching the European-style buildings on both sides of the street recede into flowing oil paintings in the twilight.

Si Yankai beside him reached out and tucked his hanging hair behind his ear. The remaining warmth from his fingertips crawled along his skin into his neck, making him feel a little strange, but he was reluctant to let it go. He had no choice but to grab his hand, hold it gently, and look at the scenery outside the window with his head tilted.

The black business car sent by the hotel stopped steadily in front of the hotel gate. When Si Yankai opened the door for him, the halo of the crystal chandelier was pouring out from the revolving door.

Walking across the lobby on the thick carpet, Tang Ximian felt a slight sense of weightlessness as the elevator ascended. She stared at the two people standing side by side in the mirror's reflection—one tall, one short. They had held hands since getting out of the car and hadn't let go. Nearby, Si Yankai was chatting with the hotel suite's butler, discussing some precautions.

The suite is filled with a light lavender aroma, and the shimmering waves of the artificial lake outside the floor-to-ceiling windows are reflected on the curtains dancing in the wind.

Tang Ximian had just pushed the suitcase into the bedroom when the phone in his pocket vibrated.

The word "brother" on the screen made the corners of his lips curl up unconsciously. The moment the call was connected, Tang Li's familiar voice came: "Are you there? How's the weather over there?"

"Just arrived at the hotel, it's warmer than I expected."

Tang Ximian tilted her head and held the phone between her legs, her fingers unconsciously stroking the silk pillow at the head of the bed, listening to the light sound of keyboard tapping coming from the receiver.

Tang Li has always been like this. Even when he is dealing with work, he can still spare some time to care about him. He is a truly good brother.

"By the way, where are you guys going tomorrow? There's a touring exhibition at the art gallery in the old town, and the night market at the harbor..."

The twilight outside the window had turned deep purple without him noticing when. When Tang Ximian hung up the phone, he realized that his palms were sweating.

He suddenly remembered the worries, uneasiness and anxiety he had felt before setting off, which now disappeared without a trace like thin frost melted by the sun.

Perhaps, we don’t know what will happen in the future, but what is important is the present.

The soft mattress sagged behind him, and he sank into the fluffy duvet, his breath filled with the clean scent of cotton and linen.

"What are you thinking about?" Si Yankai's voice came from the direction of the wardrobe. Tang Ximian raised his head and saw that he was bending over to adjust his clothes, the wrinkles of his black shirt rising and falling with his movements.

His memory suddenly flashed back to high school. It was also an afternoon like this when he was enjoying the air conditioning at Si Yankai's house and watching him carefully folding his school uniform.

It felt like a butterfly was fluttering in his chest. Tang Ximian turned over and got out of bed. He took two steps at a time and pounced on the familiar figure from behind.

"Man, leave it alone, let me do it." He deliberately lowered his voice, but his fingertips unconsciously stroked Si Yankai's waistline.

The person in his arms froze for a moment, then a low chuckle came from him.

Warm breath slowly brushed past my ears: "Is today's A-Mian the domineering president Mian?"

"No, it's the good family man, Mian."

Tang Ximian buried his face in the other's shoulder. The scent of Xuesong mixed with his body temperature made his heart skip a beat. "You didn't get much rest on the plane. Go sit over there and rest for a while."

Si Yankai obediently let go of the shirt in his hand, and when he turned around, a faint fragrance came with him.

The moment Tang Ximian raised her head, a soft touch fell on her lips, like a feather brushing, or like spring snow melting.

"Then I'll trouble you, Amian." His voice was filled with smile, and his fingertips brushed across Tang Ximian's hot earlobe.

Tang Ximian was still standing there in a daze until Si Yankai sat down on the sofa.

The remaining warmth from my fingertips burned my cheeks. I had no idea when the lights on in the artificial lake outside the window had been turned on. The golden ripples reflected in my eyes were even more gorgeous than any summer sunset in my memory.
