Chapter 9 Hey, isn't this our class monitor, Wen?
When the other girls in the dormitory heard their conversation, they couldn't help but burst out laughing.
I initially thought the new class monitor was a bit quiet, but now I realize he's actually quite cute.
They came over and introduced themselves.
Of the six, apart from Wen Jiu who was slow to warm up, the others were all very lively, so the room was constantly filled with conversation. From the initial self-introductions and birthdays to their hobbies, they talked about who they fancied and who they admired.
Right now, they're gossiping about Zhou Yanchuan.
Have you heard the recent rumors?
"What rumor?" someone asked.
“It’s about Zhou Yanchuan’s family…” Ning Yixue said a name, and the girl opposite her widened her eyes, “Really?”
"I don't know, I just heard it."
"He's so low-key. I originally thought he was just rich."
"So, will he have to go down that path after all?"
"I think he's an only child in his family, that's probably it."
"No wonder he doesn't want to date seriously, he wouldn't even look at me."
"Even if he were to choose someone, someone from his family would only look for someone of equal social standing."
...
Wen Jiu's hands, which were packing her things, suddenly stopped when she heard the last sentence, and a fleeting look of loneliness crossed her eyes.
She was called downstairs by the instructor ten minutes later. When she got to the lobby, she found that there were many other students from other classes standing around her.
Once everyone had arrived, one of the instructors standing in the middle instructed, "Class leaders, come and select the dormitories to be searched."
A boy nearby raised his hand: "Isn't it supposed to be a search of our own class?"
"To prevent you from cheating, the assignments will be random."
As soon as he finished speaking, the group of people looked at each other in bewilderment: Is this how you play?
Wen Jiu was the sixth to draw. Looking at the slip of paper in her palm, she wondered which class's dormitory it belonged to. She also glanced at the other slips of paper in her hand, wondering why they were different colors.
After the drawing of lots was completed, the instructor gestured to the slips of paper in everyone's hands: "As you have probably noticed, the slips of paper are white and blue."
“Yes,” someone echoed.
Does this mean anything?
"The color of the paper strip represents the gender; blue is for male dormitories and white is for female dormitories."
"ah?"
After the instructor's explanation, the group looked at the slips of paper in their hands again.
Wen Jiu lowered her head, her palm holding four blue and six white slips of paper. After thinking for a moment, she decided to go to the girls' dormitory closest to her first.
The girls were very cooperative; they had already put their phones and chargers in the box before she even arrived. However, they struggled a bit when it came to handing over their cosmetics.
"Could you leave me a BB cream?"
"Sunscreen, I just need sunscreen."

After leaving the last girls' dormitory, Wen Jiu arranged the items she had found, labeled them with information, and carried them to the lobby on the first floor.
The boys' dormitories she needed to check were in the building across the street. She put her things in the designated area and stepped out the door.
The first two boys' dorms were checked smoothly, but there was a slight hiccup when checking the third one.
"Hey, isn't this our class monitor, Wen Da?"
When Wen Jiu saw Cheng Ran in the room, the corners of her lips immediately turned down, and her gaze only lingered on him for half a second before shifting away: "Phone, charger, snacks, if you have any, please hand them over."
“Our relationship is not going to be flexible,” the boy said, seemingly unaffected by her attitude. He leaned against the wardrobe, crossed his arms, and looked down at her.
A few boys stood by, arms around each other, watching the commotion: "Do you know them?"
"More than that."
Cheng Ran's ambiguous words elicited a chorus of "Oh!" from the group.
Wen Jiu's eyes, however, showed no warmth whatsoever.
They were classmates in junior high school. They were assigned to the same group once, and he added her contact information under the pretext of group assignment. From then on, he would send her messages all the time and make inexplicable dirty jokes.
Wen Jiu didn't want to deal with this kind of person, so she blocked him, and that's when he started spreading rumors.
After finally finishing junior high and no longer seeing each other, she never expected that he would also be in the same high school.
Wen Jiu didn't say anything and walked straight to the table.
She picked up the box and walked over to the man who looked like a hoodlum.
"What?" he asked.
She looked up at him and said, "Take your things with you."
The girl's voice was soft and delicate, and anyone who heard it would find it incredibly endearing.
Cheng Ran raised an eyebrow slightly: "Really?"
"Um."
"It would have been so much better if you had done this sooner," he said, praising as he took the things. "You're so much cuter now than before."
Wen Jiu smiled politely at him and said softly, "Then I'll go check the other dormitories first."
"Go ahead, go ahead," Cheng Ran was currently basking in the smugness of being flattered, and her tone of voice had become much more normal.
Wen Jiu stepped out and closed the door, just as she heard a commotion coming from inside.
Wow, you're something else!
"Give me her contact information quickly."
...
She remained calm, bent down and placed the box at her feet, then took her phone out of her pocket.
With her eyes lowered, she opened WeChat.
The corridor was dimly lit, and the girl's face was illuminated by her phone screen.
The dialog box simply read: "Instructor, Cheng Ran from dormitory 301 in Class 5 is not cooperating."
After sending a message to Lu Fengyuan, Wen Jiu put her phone back in her pocket, picked up her suitcase, and headed towards the last dormitory room.

As Wen Jiu approached the last dormitory room she was to search, she saw the list of people posted on the door.
The raised hand froze in mid-air, the eyelashes trembled several times, and then the hand slowly fell down.
"Knock knock knock".
A knocking sound came from the hallway.
Wen Jiu heard herself say, "I'm here to check the dorms, is it convenient for me to come in?"
The conversation behind the door paused for a moment before someone replied, "Sure, come in."
Wen Jiu pushed open the door, and in the bright room, the first thing she saw was the person sitting at the table and chair.
And he was looking at her at that moment.
Her movements froze for a moment before returning to normal.
The moment Zhou Yanchuan heard the sound at the door, he looked up. A small figure appeared in his dark pupils, accompanied by a slight smile.
That's true.
