Chapter 44 Zhou Yanchuan, why are there stars on your head?
Zhou Yanchuan's eyes froze for a moment, then he looked up and his expression returned to normal. Just as he was about to speak, the girl took a step back, creating distance between them, and then walked away without looking back.
"..."
He lifted his leg and followed, watching the swaying figure ahead. The restlessness in his heart was unconsciously replaced, and his eyes held a tenderness that he himself did not realize.
When she reached the streetlight, Wen Jiu stopped her swaying steps and stared quietly at the shadow of Zhou Yanchuan on the ground.
suddenly--
She crouched down, brought her shadow closer, and moved her feet slightly, gradually bringing the two shadows' hands together.
Those beautiful eyes grew brighter and brighter as the distance between them decreased.
However, looking at her fingertips, which she had been adjusting for so long but could only just barely touch, Wen Jiu pouted in grievance, "Why... can't I hold on?"
She muttered softly, her voice tinged with grievance, "Is it that I can't even touch your shadow?"
Zhou Yanchuan looked at the person who suddenly stopped and squatted on the ground, and walked over.
"What's wrong?"
The moment Wen Jiu heard the voice beside her, she raised her head.
Looking at the boy standing next to her, her eyes showed a mixture of grievance and joy.
"Zhou Yanchuan."
Wen Jiu looked at the hand hanging by her side and slowly extended her hand.
She wanted to touch it.
But as soon as she raised her hand, the other hand suddenly moved.
Then--
Wen Jiu looked up blankly.
Zhou Yanchuan looked at the person squatting on the ground reaching out to him and assumed that the person was tired from walking.
I instinctively took her hand.
"Stand up first, then memorize."

Under the streetlights, the girl looked up at the two hands clasped tightly together, her eyes sparkling with tiny lights, as she let someone pull her up.
Behave yourself and stand beside him.
Zhou Yanchuan smiled; he was quite well-behaved when drunk.
"Do you want me to carry it?" he asked.
She seemed to be thinking about this question, looking at him with her big eyes, and after a while, she shook her head.
That's good.
A soft sound.
Zhou Yanchuan didn't understand what she meant by "like this," but seeing that she was no longer squatting on the ground, he didn't pay any attention to her.
only.
He glanced down at the two hands clasped together.
He had been holding that tiny hand in his palm, but now that tiny hand was gripping his tightly in return.
It felt like something soft had touched my heart, making it a little itchy.
Just then, a cell phone rang in his ear, and Zhou Yanchuan clearly felt the girl tremble.
He said softly, "It's nothing," and then gestured with his eyes, "The phone is ringing."
Seemingly not quite understanding, the little girl blinked blankly, her expression innocent: "Mine?"
His eyes deepened: "Hmm."
Wen Jiu lowered her head to look for her pocket, and after rummaging around for a while, she finally found the small white phone, then put it to her ear and said, "Hello."
Zhou Yanchuan licked his lips, reached out and took the phone from her hand, answered the call, and held it to her ear.
"Have you gotten home yet, deskmate?" Lin Meng's voice came through the phone.
Zhou Yanchuan looked at the person who was only staring at him without saying a word, and gently squeezed her hand. "I'm asking you."
"Huh???" Lin Meng, who was lying on the bed, sat up straight in an instant.
Zhou Yanchuan!
Just as she was wondering what was going on, the girl's soft voice rang out: "We're not home yet."
"Why aren't you home yet?" Lin Meng asked softly, sensing the girl's drunkenness.
The person on the other end obediently replied, "We're on our way."
"What?" She was a little confused about what he meant.
Zhou Yanchuan looked at the person who had only uttered two words and smiled. He thought to himself, "If a drunkard were to speak, he probably wouldn't be able to explain it clearly even if he talked all night."
He picked up his phone and held it to his ear, calmly conveying her meaning: "We're on our way, we'll be home soon."
The moment the clear, magnetic voice reached her ears through the screen, Lin Meng forgot to breathe.
After a long pause, he remembered something and said, "Okay."
"I'll hang up now," he said.
Hearing that beautiful voice, she felt as if she had been drinking, her mind was foggy, and all she could say was, "Okay."
It was quite a while after the call ended that Lin Meng realized what had happened, and couldn't help but exclaim "Ah!"
"Oh my god!" She clutched her wildly beating heart, so excited she wanted to run all over the house.
Zhou Yanchuan! It was Zhou Yanchuan on the other end of the phone!
Although I knew about their relationship, I never really felt it. This is the first time I've felt so clearly that they actually know each other!
*
After hanging up the phone, the girl beside him remained motionless and silent, staring intently at him.
"What's wrong?" Zhou Yanchuan asked first.
Upon hearing his voice, the person reacted and spoke slowly and deliberately.
"Zhou Yanchuan."
"Um."
Why are there stars on your head?
"..."
"How much did you drink?"
Zhou Yanchuan looked at the person who was tiptoeing and reaching up to touch his head, while helping her straighten her clothes that were about to fall off, and then bent down to let her pick up the stars.
“Look,” the girl said, reaching out her hand to him.
He looked down and saw a withered yellow ginkgo leaf lying in the palm of her hand.
Zhou Yanchuan smirked: "Is this a star?"
Wen Jiu nodded obediently and stretched out her hand again.
"What?" he asked.
"Here, take this."
"I'll take you to the person you have a crush on."
The girl blinked and extended her hand further: "Here, take this."
His gaze, which had been somewhat nonchalant just moments before, had changed.
The surroundings were quiet, with the occasional sound of a car horn or the sound of conversation drifting in from afar and then fading away.
Zhou Yanchuan looked at the person who was offering him the leaves, his eyes deep and unfathomable: "Do you know who I am?"
The drunk girl was unaware of her current predicament; the secret she had tried so hard to hide when she was sober was slowly seeping out.
She didn't answer, but stubbornly stretched her hand forward.
"Here, take this."
Zhou Yanchuan didn't move: "Who am I first?"
"Why do you always ask me this question?" the girl said, puffing out her cheeks as if annoyed. "You must be—hey, little dog."
His heart was unconsciously raised, and then he felt helpless because of her sudden, "Hey, little dog."
"What puppy?" Even if it's inexplicable, I'll still go along with her.
“There,” Wen Jiu pointed.
Zhou Yanchuan looked in the direction she was pointing, and it really was a puppy, a puppy so dirty that its color was unrecognizable.
*
It was almost eleven o'clock when Zhou Yanchuan came out of the pet hospital. He turned his head and looked at the girl who was holding a black and white puppy and said, "How about I call you Little Yellow from now on?" He smiled and his eyes were gentle but also revealed his heartache.
He pulled her to the inside of the road, while he followed on the outside. When his eyes looked at her, her words, "I'll take you," would involuntarily come to mind.
Zhou Yanchuan looked down at the ginkgo leaf in his hand, then looked at the girl with a hint of inquiry, and a touch of something he himself didn't realize... a loosening, as if something had gently settled in his heart and sprouted.
*
The following day was a cloudy and rainy day.
Wen Jiu sat at her desk, gazing at the raindrops outside the window, lost in thought until the doorbell rang. At the same time, her phone, which was on the table, vibrated.
