Chapter 20 I Was a Bad Student

Chapter 20 I Was a Bad Student

the next day.

Wen Jiu was in pain from a dull ache in her lower abdomen. She got out of bed and tiptoed to the bathroom.

Morning training at 6:00 AM.

The early morning drowsiness made Zhou Yanchuan irritable. He kicked Chen Yu, who had been pestering him since early morning asking who had called him last night.

When I arrived at the playground, most of the students had already arrived.

He squinted as he searched through the crowd, but surprisingly, he couldn't find the figure he always spotted at a glance.

His facial expression grew even more displeased.

Normally, it's Wen Jiu who organizes the team. When she doesn't come, even if it's time for morning exercises, the whole team is still disorganized.

It wasn't until Lu Fengyuan appeared that some people realized their class monitor was missing.

"Instructor, where's our squad leader?"

Lu Fengyuan explained, "I'm not feeling well."

"Is she feeling unwell? What's wrong with her?" a student in the group asked with concern.

Lu Fengyuan gave a casual remark.

Then someone asked, "Then why can she take leave, but we can't?"

Lu Fengyuan scoffed: "Why don't you ask why they can get excellent grades in every subject but you can't?"

The person who had just spoken was stumped by the question and fell silent.

When Zhou Yanchuan heard that he felt unwell, he suddenly remembered that there was a box of painkillers in the bag of medicine he had received yesterday. He frowned slightly and realized something.

After the whistle blew to start the morning exercise, the whole team moved forward, except for one person who walked in the opposite direction.

Zhou Yanchuan went to the infirmary first.

When he arrived, the doctor was opening the door.

Without turning his head, he asked, "Where do you feel unwell?"

Menstrual cramps.

The woman abruptly stopped pushing the door open and looked at him with a strange expression.

He said calmly, "It wasn't me."

"..."

This sentence is punctuated.

"Does it hurt a lot?" Xia Fei asked as she walked towards the medicine shelf.

"Um."

"Then I'll get you some tonics to replenish your qi and blood, as well as painkillers. But painkillers only treat the symptoms, not the root cause. If the pain is severe, it's best to go to the hospital for a checkup."

Wen Jiu had just reached the door of the infirmary, and before she could even touch it, she heard Zhou Yanchuan's voice coming from inside.

"good."

Her hand froze in mid-air, not realizing how he was there.

"Has her cold gotten worse?" Wen Jiu murmured.

Just then, a casual voice came from inside the room: "So nervous, did you buy it for your girlfriend?"

Wen Jiu's expression froze for a moment.

She didn't understand what was going on in the room, but after the doctor asked her question, she waited a long time for Zhou Yanchuan's reply.

She couldn't help but let her imagination run wild. Come to think of it, it had been a long time since Zhou Yanchuan had ever been in a relationship.

Wen Jiu's fingertips dug into her palm, and she lowered her eyes to hide the emotions in them.

An unknown amount of time passed.

Suddenly a sound rang in my ears—

What are you doing here?

She looked up and realized that the people inside had come out of the house sometime earlier.

Looking into his eyes, besides emptiness, there was a hint of grievance that she herself didn't realize.

When Zhou Yanchuan met her gaze, a ripple immediately appeared in his usually calm eyes.

Wen Jiu snapped out of her daze and said softly, "I've come to get some medicine."

"And you?" she asked casually, though her heart was pounding, afraid of hearing the answer she was thinking of.

Zhou Yanchuan lifted the bag he was carrying higher: "I was just thinking about how to deliver it to you."

Wen Jiu was taken aback by this answer and hesitated for several seconds before asking, "Send it to me?"

He nodded: "Not a stomachache?"

Her heart suddenly skipped a beat.

Remembering how he hadn't denied the doctor's question earlier, "You seemed so nervous, did you buy it for your girlfriend?"

He felt a little happy for no reason, but then he thought again that he never liked to explain anything.

The tiny flame of joy that had just begun to peek out was extinguished in a flash.

"Did you take your cold medicine?" she asked suddenly, remembering something.

"Ask me?"

"Yes."

Zhou Yanchuan's gaze paused for a moment, a slight itch in his heart and throat: "Mm."

The girl visibly relaxed: "It's fine as long as you've eaten."

Zhou Yanchuan didn't say anything more, he just looked at her.

Seeing that Wen Jiu seemed a little off, she asked in a low voice, "What's wrong?"

He spoke softly, "How silly."

Even though her lips were white from the pain, she still asked him if he had taken any medicine.

Wen Jiu blinked, wondering why this person suddenly cursed at her, and for some reason, she felt that he was very different from usual today.

But she was in too much pain to think about anything.

It took a lot of effort to get here from the dormitory, and now I can barely stand.

As her vision blurred and she tried to fall, a hand suddenly appeared around her waist, and a refreshing scent swept over her.

He held her waist tightly, scolded her again for being "stupid," but held her even tighter.

When Xia Fei turned her head and saw the person still standing at the door, she wondered why they hadn't left yet.

Before she could ask, she saw the girl in his arms.

A look of surprise flashed in his eyes.

It's the girl who bought cold medicine last night.

She was particularly impressed by her; having been here for so long, this was the first time she had ever seen someone buying medicine like they were doing wholesale.

Xia Fei hesitated for a moment, then hurriedly stepped forward: "Help her onto the bed first..."

Before she could finish speaking, the boy bent down, wrapped one arm around the girl's back, and supported her knees with the other, lifting her up in his arms.

Where is the bed?

“The bed,” she said, a beat slow to react, pointing to it.

Zhou Yanchuan put the person on the bed, looked around, and got up to walk towards the water dispenser.

I felt the temperature of the cup with my hand and carried it to the bedside.

Wen Jiu was conscious, but the pain prevented her from responding properly.

She could hear Zhou Yanchuan say to her in a very soft voice, "Drink some water first, then take your medicine."

You can also hear the doctor say, "Do you want her to feed me?"

Zhou Yanchuan said in a low voice, "No need."

Zhou Yanchuan's gentleness continued until she regained consciousness.

The moment Wen Jiu opened her eyes, she heard his voice.

Are you feeling better?

She fluttered her eyelashes a few times and nodded obediently.

He didn't say anything after that.

Wen Jiu lowered her eyes, unsure of what to say.

After a while...

"Zhou Yanchuan."

"Um."

Aren't you going to training?

Zhou Yanchuan chuckled: "You thought about this for so long and then you tell me this?"

Wen Jiu blushed slightly at his teasing and sat up a little straighter: "So what did you tell the instructor when you came over?"

Zhou Yanchuan raised his hand to support her, his tone indifferent: "He didn't say."

"ah."

Wen Jiu stopped standing up and turned to look at him. "Didn't you tell the instructor before you came here?"

His gaze fell on her face, and he said casually, "Hmm."

His reaction was too calm and too indifferent.

Wen Jiu was a little taken aback: "Don't you know that what you're doing is considered skipping training?"

"I know."

"I know you still don't care."

Zhou Yanchuan smiled and said, "Have you forgotten something?"

"What?"

"I was a bad student."
