Chapter 32 Ulterior Motives

Chapter 32 Ulterior Motives

He looked around and his gaze settled on Song Zhiwei.

With a slight smile, he stepped forward and asked in a humble tone.

"Hello, are you Attorney Song?"

Song Zhiwei immediately stood up and nodded in response.

"Yes, Mr. Chen, hello. Thank you for arriving on time. Please have a seat here."

After the two sat down, she opened her notebook, ready to take notes.

"The main reason I asked you to come here today is to further verify the specific details of the case, especially the source and purpose of the premarital deposit, as well as the flow of funds during the company's establishment. Do you think we can start from this point?"

Chen Qimin nodded repeatedly with a serious expression.

"Okay, go ahead and tell me, I'll cooperate. This case has been dragging on for a long time, and I hope it can be resolved as soon as possible."

Song Zhiwei took a voice recorder out of her briefcase and examined it carefully.

After confirming that everything is correct, gently press the record button.

"Mr. Chen, could you please provide a detailed breakdown of the specific amount of your premarital property? This includes real estate, vehicles, bank deposits, and the investment projects you mentioned earlier."

"Furthermore, were all transaction records kept complete when you made these investments? Are there any relevant transfer vouchers, bank statements, or agreements with the investment platform?"

She asked questions while quickly taking notes.

The pen tip made a scratching sound on the paper.

The conversation, which lasted for more than two hours, covered almost every key detail of the case.

As the conversation was about to end, Song Zhiwei closed her notebook.

They still made sure to double-check the completeness of the information one last time.

Chen Qimin remained silent for a moment, then slowly shook his head.

He answered calmly.

"That's all. I've said everything I needed to say. I'll prepare all the necessary materials and submit them to you as soon as possible. Attorney Song, what do you think the chances of winning this case are?"

He leaned forward slightly, a hint of anticipation in his eyes.

Upon hearing this, Song Zhiwei did not respond immediately.

She gently stroked the pen, her gaze slightly lowered, and pondered for a moment.

From a legal perspective, the facts of this divorce property dispute are not complicated.

Objectively speaking, the chances of winning the case are indeed quite high.

But she knew that as a practicing lawyer, she could never rashly guarantee the outcome of a case.

She raised her eyes and said earnestly.

"Rest assured, I will do my utmost to fight for your rightful legal rights in accordance with the law. We will verify all the evidence one by one to ensure that it is impeccable during the court hearing."

Upon hearing this, Chen Qimin's facial muscles twitched slightly.

He forced a smile and said softly.

"I understand, thank you."

He didn't ask any further questions, nor did he say anything more.

He nodded to Song Zhiwei, then turned and left the coffee shop.

Back in her office, Song Zhiwei didn't waste a moment.

She immediately turned on her computer and brought up the case template.

The indictment was drafted.

The court hearing date has been set for next Tuesday.

There are only seven days left.

She knew that time was of the essence and there was no time to waste.

At noon, sunlight streamed into the office area through the blinds.

Seeing that she was still focused on her work, Xu Xiaoting lowered her voice.

"Zhiwei, it's almost noon. Let's go to the cafeteria for lunch together. You've been busy all morning."

Song Zhiwei looked up at the time, closed her laptop, and nodded.

"Okay, it's time to take a break."

The two walked out of the law firm one after the other and headed to the staff cafeteria.

The cafeteria was bustling with activity, and the aroma of food filled the air.

They carried stainless steel trays and weaved through the crowd, looking for empty seats.

Just then, Song Zhiwei caught a familiar figure out of the corner of her eye.

Sheng Tingzhou walked calmly into the cafeteria hall.

A young woman was following closely beside him.

The woman was tall and slender, wearing a long camel-colored trench coat.

Her long, slightly wavy hair fell naturally over her shoulders, and her makeup was exquisite yet understated.

"Oh my god, Zhiwei, look!"

Xu Xiaoting suddenly tugged at her sleeve.

He lowered his voice, his eyes shining with an astonishing light.

"Who is that woman? Could she be President Sheng's new girlfriend? When did this happen? I've never heard anyone mention her before?"

Song Zhiwei frowned slightly, then regained her composure.

She glanced at the couple again.

His gaze lingered on the woman's face for a moment.

She did have some recollection of it.

I think I saw him at the year-end party jointly hosted by the law firm and Shengshi Group last year.

At the time, the woman was standing on the periphery of the crowd, chatting and laughing with several executives.

She is elegant in demeanor and has an outstanding presence.

She remembered someone mentioning her name, but couldn't recall it at the moment.

"I'm not sure."

She continued walking forward with the plate in her hand, her steps never faltering.

"But to be honest, the two of them look quite well-matched standing together."

Xu Xiaoting kept muttering to herself.

As she spoke, she secretly glanced at the two people not far away.

Song Zhiwei didn't reply and continued eating with her head down.

His movements were unhurried and deliberate, as if the words he had just spoken had not even reached his ears.

About ten minutes later, the two finished eating and prepared to leave.

The woman suddenly walked over.

She stopped directly in front of Song Zhiwei, looking surprised.

"Song Zhiwei? What are you doing here?"

Song Zhiwei looked up, her eyes narrowing slightly.

Somewhat surprisingly, she recognized him.

"I work at a company."

She spoke calmly, offering no further explanation.

"You work at Sheng Tingzhou's company?"

The woman's face was filled with disbelief.

"Um."

She nodded slightly.

After saying that, he planned to walk around the other person and continue walking out.

The other person looked her up and down a few times, then suddenly laughed.

"I never expected you to be so capable. You used to chase after the second young master of the Zhou family, and now you've changed your approach to get close to Tingzhou."

Song Zhiwei frowned and stopped in her tracks.

His eyes instantly turned cold.

She turned around to face the woman directly, her tone indifferent.

"Miss, are we that close? Do you need to know every detail of my past?"

The other party was taken aback when she suddenly turned hostile.

Then he raised the corners of his mouth.

"I'm not close to her, but I have a good relationship with your sister Xiaolu. We often eat together and are good friends who know each other well."

Upon hearing this, Song Zhiwei immediately understood.

Her gaze darkened, and a cold smile appeared on her lips.

"No wonder he speaks with a Zhou Xiaolu accent, so sour it makes you want to vomit."

What do you mean by that?

Yuan Yuexin originally thought that Song Zhiwei would tone it down a bit when Zhou Xiaolu was mentioned.

In her view, a stepdaughter who lives by connections should always be polite to the Zhou family.

But Song Zhiwei's reaction was completely unexpected.

"The literal meaning. If you don't understand, go to the hospital and get your brain checked."

Song Zhiwei's tone was icy.

After saying that, he stopped looking at her and pulled Xu Xiaoting away.

Yuan Yuexin stood there, stomping her feet in anger.

The high heels made a rapid sound as they hit the ground.

Just then, Sheng Tingzhou walked over.

He held a document in his hand, his expression indifferent.

She immediately ran over to complain.

"Tingzhou, how could you let someone like Song Zhiwei into the company? She doesn't deserve to be here! Do you know what she's done before? She latched onto the second young master of the Zhou family, and now she's pretending to infiltrate your company. She clearly has ulterior motives!"

How do you know she has ulterior motives?
