Chapter 201: The End of the Dharma Destroys the Way of Heaven, and Mara Kills the Tathagata

“Knock, knock, knock…”

In the extremely quiet Zen room, Chen Kuang could almost hear his own heartbeat quickening in an instant.

The strange smile on Xiuzhu's face only lasted for a moment, and immediately returned to his original innocent look, with a hint of nervousness on his face.

But it was obvious that it was not Chen Kuang's illusion, but that the "second personality" with unknown purpose showed up again to watch the show.

And it seems...either he knows about it, or he is in cahoots with the three monsters in front of him.

Chen Kuang calmed down instantly, withdrew his gaze and ignored Xiuzhu's sudden change of expression.

In short... this is absolutely not the state a normal practitioner should be in.

What Chen Kuang himself practiced was the "Clay and Gold Sculpture Method", which should also be one of the main practices of the three great Zen masters.

However, their current state is completely contrary to the "Clay Figure and Gold Sculpture Method".

The clay-based gold sculpture method is used to cultivate a flawless golden body.

The ultimate goal of polishing the body is to train the whole body to be flawless, including every inch of skin, even the pores.

And now, apart from not speaking, these three people, let alone the flawless golden body, the huge hole in front of them is simply leaking...

Not to mention that the mouth has disappeared, it is obviously not the process of serious cultivation.

Chen Kuang didn't dare to look at the pools of blood on the ground.

The Pure Land of Immaculate Purity... At this moment, this name is really chilling.

Xiuzhu seemed unaware and took the lead as he stepped forward, clasping his hands together before looking at Buwen.

"Master."

Then he looked at the other two:

“Don’t talk about Zen Master unless you see him.”

Chen Kuang also stepped forward to pay his respects. He immediately smelled a more pronounced stench of decay. He paused and said in a deep voice:

"Disciple... Lionheart, I have met the three great Zen masters."

Bu Wen looked up at him, stared into his eyes, and smiled kindly:

"People with innate wisdom don't have much connection with their past lives. You don't have to worry about this reputation. Just be yourself."

If the person in front of him could not clearly see the wriggling brain, when Chen Kuang heard this sentence, he would definitely think that the great Zen Master Jingtu was indeed kind-hearted and so considerate.

But at this moment...

“Snap!”

Chen Kuang's eyebrows jumped, and out of the corner of his eye he saw a piece of white flesh mixed with dirty blood falling out of the bloody hole in the left ear of the smiling Zen Master Buwen.

The vaguely wriggling white flesh stretched its body toward the sky, struggling in the filthy blood, and countless abdominal legs twitched irregularly.

What was wriggling in the ear hole was not a brain at all...it was countless fat white worms.

Chen Kuang pulled the corner of his mouth and smiled:

"If it weren't for Senior Lionheart's skills, I would have died in Liang State by now. Therefore, I am willing to inherit his legacy and will."

Knowing that the telepathy of these three Zen masters would only be stronger than that of Duguan, he did not dare to lie at this moment, so he only told the "truth" by piecing together some facts.

He did practice the "Lion Heart" technique and was eventually able to escape from Liang State, but the person who taught him was Huo Hengxuan.

After hearing the story of the nameless monk, he was indeed willing to inherit the mantle and legacy of "Lionheart", but his "goodness" would be more principled than "Lionheart's".

Upon hearing this, Master Bu Jian nodded with satisfaction and said softly:

"In that case, after you are ordained, you will still use 'Lionheart' as your Dharma name."

Chen Kuang pondered for a moment, then said:

"I'm afraid I can't get ordained."

"oh?"

The three Zen masters were not angry, but just looked a little surprised.

Zen Master Bu Wen looked at him and asked patiently:

"Why not?"

Chen Kuang said: "My worldly ties have not yet been resolved, so I cannot yet convert."

Zen Master Bu Wen thought about it and actually seemed to think it made sense. He said:

"You have a connection with Buddhism, but you haven't yet attained enlightenment. Your six senses are not pure. You can indeed wait a while in this pure land until you have let go of your murderous desires and worldly desires... and then you can become ordained."

"Now, I will be a lay disciple and practice cultivation with my hair uncut."

Chen Kuang's test did not get any big response, but he sensed something else in Wu Wen's words.

"Isn't it possible to leave the Pure Land during the practice period?"

The Zen Master Bu Jian smiled and said, "Of course it's possible. Look at Xiuzhu, he just went out for a while."

"However, you have many enemies outside, and they are also part of the worldly ties that need to be cut off. When will the cycle of revenge end? The more you come into contact with them, the deeper you will be trapped. It is better to practice peacefully in the Pure Land and put down your butcher knife. Only then can you become a Buddha."

It seems... they are not unaware of one of Chen Kuang's purposes for coming here.

Chen Kuang was silent for a while, then put his hands together and said:

"Disciple understands."

Bu Wen nodded and said, "In that case, you can stay in the meditation room next to the Mingjingtai in the west of the temple for now and meditate quietly. If there is anything you don't understand, you can come to us three at any time."

He smiled and said, "Especially Bu Yan, he is Lionheart's master, you can also regard him as your master."

Chen Kuang thought to himself, then I shouldn’t even talk to him.

He looked at Bu Yan, who looked the most normal, and saluted.

He remained silent, but his eyes were very gentle.

The three great Zen masters chatted with Xiuzhu for a while, tested his lessons and the gains from this trip, and finally asked him to take Chen Kuang to Mingjingtai to rest. Nothing went wrong.

When Chen Kuang walked out, the door of the Zen room slowly closed by itself.

He looked back and saw the deformed faces of the three Zen masters hidden in the darkness, but he could still vaguely hear the sticky sound of the insects crawling.

Xiuzhu said, "Mingjingtai is a great place. In the courtyard is the Bodhi tree where the Buddha attained enlightenment. I heard that if you look at it more carefully, you can gain extraordinary insights."

He rubbed his head a bit embarrassedly and said, "But maybe my talent is too low. No matter how you look at me, I just look like an ordinary Bodhi tree. Every time my master asked me to gain enlightenment, I fell asleep under the tree."

Chen Kuang suddenly asked, "Are you the only Buddhist disciple in the Pure Land now?"

Xiuzhu shook his head: "Of course there is more than that. This generation also has a senior brother named Xiuxin, who should be in the temple now."

There was indeed a towering Bodhi tree at the Mirror Terrace.

Chen Kuang raised his head and squinted his eyes.

After a day of hard work, it was already night. Through the hazy light shrouded by the dense leaves of the Bodhi tree, the stars in the sky could be vaguely seen.

“You’re here…”

Suddenly, Chen Kuang heard a vague female voice in his ears.

His face turned stern, and his spiritual sense covered the area where there was no one else except Xiuzhu, but the voice seemed to be right in front of him!

Chen Kuang's thoughts suddenly turned, and he looked up and stared at the Bodhi tree in front of him.

Could it be that...

Xiuzhu stopped, turned around and said with a smile:

"Chen Kuang, have you heard a saying?"

When Chen Kuang saw his expression, he knew that the "second personality" had appeared again.

He remained silent.

Xiuzhu looked at him, still smiling, and continued to speak word by word:

"The Dharma Ending Age destroys the Way of Heaven, and Mara destroys the Tathagata."
