Chapter 259 Returning the Property to its Rightful Owner

"Ah Jin, Ah Jin!"

Su Wan shouted, and suddenly sat up.

Before her was a room completely unfamiliar to her. To her touch was a cool bamboo mat, and at both ends of the bed hung blue gauze curtains with white jade hooks. The window, carved with flowers and birds, was pushed open halfway, and water droplets were dripping from its edge.

A gentle breeze drifted in through the window, turning the pages of the open book on the table and bringing the refreshing scent of the rain into the room. This freshness carried the fragrance of flowers, the moisture of the rain, and the aroma of earth; she couldn't help but take a deep breath.

A screen stood directly opposite the entrance, painted with a huge bird flying over rolling mountains. She couldn't recognize it; it looked like a hawk or an eagle.

Where is this?

All she remembered was talking to Bai Zhiyi on the shore with Wei Jingzhuo when Xie Maoliang suddenly snatched the metal cylinder from Bai Zhiyi's hand and pointed it at Wei Jingzhuo, who then collapsed. Then Xie Maoliang pointed the cylinder at her again, a flash of green light, and she knew nothing more.

She looked down and groped her body with both hands, only to find that her clothes had also been changed.

When she crawled out of the water, she was soaking wet, her collar and cuffs were full of mud and sand, and her hair was disheveled; she looked utterly wretched.

Now she had changed into a fitted white robe, light and smooth. Even her hair was washed clean and carried an unknown floral scent.

The aching sensation in her entire arm and the red finger marks on her wrist told her that what had happened was real. Someone must have brought her to this place while she was unconscious.

She didn't want to think about these things; she needed to find Wei Jingzhuo first.

If she couldn't see Wei Jingzhuo and didn't know whether he was alive or dead, her heart would feel heavy and she would feel like she couldn't breathe.

She threw off the thin blanket covering her, rolled out of bed, and slipped on the embroidered shoes placed at the foot of the bed. The shoes were a little big, but they fit her feet well. There was a thin red rope on the table, which she picked up and hastily tied her hair back.

Just as I was busy, the door creaked open and sunlight streamed in, casting a shadow on the screen. The person crept stealthily toward the screen like a thief.

Su Wan felt a chill run down her spine and took the pepper spray in her hand.

No matter what, she always wanted to take the initiative, and to be ruthless first, then righteous. If the other party had any ill intentions, she could immediately give them a piece of her mind.

The man carefully turned out from behind the screen, carrying a tray in both hands, and came face to face with Su Wan.

Upon seeing the person who had arrived, Su Wan was overjoyed and put down the pepper spray, rushing forward and saying, "Sister Chu."

Chu Mingyao quickly stepped aside and said, "Sister, don't touch me. Let me put the medicine on the table first."

She placed the medicinal soup on the tray on the table before turning around and embracing Su Wan tightly.

Su Wan said, "Sister Chu, I was so nervous just now, not knowing where I was or how I ended up like this. It's so good to see you."

Waking up to see familiar faces instantly dispelled her nervousness and unease about this unfamiliar place.

Chu Mingyao, dressed in a white robe just like her, pulled her to the bedside and said, "Don't be afraid, this is the family of divine doctors. I carried you up the mountain and gave you a bath and changed your clothes."

"So this is the family of legendary healers."

Su Wan then remembered that Chu Mingyao had told her more than once that Jinhua Mountain was the home of the family of divine healers. She and Wei Jingzhuo had originally landed on Jinhua Mountain, and with the surrounding area engulfed in floodwaters, they were naturally sent here.

"Sister Chu, did you find me and Ajin? But where is Ajin?" She looked around. "Why didn't Ajin come looking for me?"

Chu Mingyao said, "Sister, drink your medicine first. Although you are not injured, you fell quite hard."

Su Wan was taken aback and grabbed Chu Mingyao's hand, saying, "You mean A-Jin is injured? I won't take my medicine now, please take me there quickly."

Chu Mingyao pulled her back and said, "Don't worry, sister. This is a family of renowned doctors. You don't need to worry about His Highness's injuries."

"I'm worried too. I need to go find him." Su Wan grabbed Chu Mingyao's hands and dragged her outside. "Sister Chu, please have mercy and take me to find him."

Chu Mingyao couldn't refuse, so she got up and said, "Alright, I'll take you there."

Su Wan quickly straightened her robe and followed Chu Mingyao out the door.

Outside the door was a long corridor with a thin line of water hanging down. Directly opposite the room was a tall artificial mountain, from which a waterfall cascaded down, splashing into a pool below.

Two magpies with black backs and white bellies stood atop the artificial hill, puffing out their feathers towards the western sun, like fluffy balls of feathers, as if they intended to let the sunlight dry their feathers.

“I wasn’t originally qualified to enter the Holy Land,” Chu Mingyao said to her as she walked ahead, “but Mr. Jiang made an exception and let me in this time.”

Su Wan followed behind Chu Mingyao and asked, "Is it Jiang Wenpei, the one who provided stimulants to the Southern Chu army?"

Chu Mingyao said, "Don't scold Mr. Jiang when you see him. He has his reasons. Besides, he was the one who saved you in the first place, not me. He was also the one who promised to treat His Highness."

Su Wan thought to herself, "The skills of this family of divine doctors far exceed my imagination. Mr. Jiang is also from a family of divine doctors. Since he has agreed to save A Jin, why am I panicking?"

She relaxed a little and agreed, "Okay, I'll do as Sister Chu says."

The two walked a little further and saw several girls in white robes playing chess in the opposite corridor. When they saw Su Wan approaching, they all stood up and ran over, saying, "Third Princess, is she the real goddess?"

"That's right, the one with the mask last time looked really scary. Turns out it was fake."
