As it turned out, Lu Shengnan's suggestion was correct. If Xu An had driven there by himself last night, he probably would have had to find a hotel nearby to rest for the night after the banquet and return the next day at noon.
Xu An tried to drink as little as possible during the banquet, but when others came over to exchange pleasantries and downed their drinks in one gulp, he couldn't very well just take a small sip himself.
As a result, Xu An got quite drunk after the banquet.
Fortunately, the driver Uncle Dongliang found was reliable and had similar experience before. He waited outside the banquet hall entrance well before the banquet ended, and when he saw Xu An walking out in an S-shape, he went up to him, helped him into the car, and handed him some hangover medicine.
By the time the car returned to Haishi, Xu An's drunkenness had mostly dissipated. Recalling the hangover medicine the driver had given him, Xu An's expression turned strange.
Who is this guy Uncle Dongliang found? He seems so familiar with this kind of situation, and he even has hangover medicine on hand!
So thoughtful, so incredibly thoughtful!
Given the driver's behavior along the way, Xu An knew that he wouldn't get an answer by asking the driver directly, so he kept the question to himself and would ask Uncle Dongliang who the driver was when he met him.
Although Xu An had sobered up, the smell of alcohol on him couldn't have dissipated in just one or two hours.
I thought a bath would be fine, but as soon as I lay down on the bed, the two little ones, who were sleeping soundly, started twitching their noses, their eyes, noses, and mouths all scrunched up, looking very uncomfortable.
Seeing this, Xu An had no choice but to move the rocking chair into a corner of the room and make do with it for the night.
Thanks to the alcohol, I slept quite well that night. However, when I woke up, my back ached, and I was dizzy and lightheaded from the hangover, making me feel like I just wanted to die.
As soon as Tang Wen returned to her office, she knocked on the door and came in to report on her work.
"The pomegranate-eating clip is actually a trending topic?" Xu An rubbed his temples as he looked at Tang Wen's video popularity analysis report, his eyebrows raised high.
"Yes, in the live broadcast about acquiring mushrooms, the scene of Li Xiumei eating pomegranates while broadcasting was the second most viewed highlight in the entire video, the first being when General Manager Xu wrote down 'all consumers'."
Somewhat puzzled, Xu An logged into the [Xu's Catering] account on the live streaming platform, clicked on the video replay, dragged the progress bar to the time marked by Tang Wen, and pressed the play button. The still image on the screen began to move.
In the video, Li Xiumei is chatting with someone in the group and checking the mushrooms she brought. An elderly man behind this person noticed that Li Xiumei's lips were a little dry from talking too much. He reached into his basket and pulled out a small, rosy pomegranate, which he then handed to Li Xiumei.
"Girl, your lips are all dry. Have a pomegranate. This is a pomegranate we grew ourselves. Don't let its small size fool you, it's very sweet!" The old woman said, and without further ado, she stuffed the pomegranate into Li Xiumei's hand.
Li Xiumei was stunned for a moment, then looked down at the pomegranate in her hand.
She was a native of the area and knew exactly what kind of fruit trees grew in the surrounding villages. She immediately recognized that the pomegranate the old woman had given her was indeed one of those grown in Xiangyang Village. Without refusing, she thanked her and then broke the pomegranate open, putting the ruby-like seeds into her mouth.
Perhaps she ate too much at once, or perhaps the pomegranate seeds were too juicy, because while chewing, a lot of juice broke through the seal of her lips, overflowing from the corners of her mouth. Under the influence of gravity, it flowed quickly downwards, eventually gathering on Li Xiumei's delicate chin, forming a pink, glistening droplet.
The video was paused at this point because Tang Wen started speaking.
"When the pomegranate first appeared, netizens noticed it, but most of them complained that the small pomegranate was full of pulp and not tasty at all; however, after Li Xiumei broke open the pomegranate, netizens began to ask what variety it was; while Li Xiumei was eating the pomegranate, many netizens asked if it was a specialty of Hezibao and whether it would be sold."
Tang Wen turned to a new page in the document and continued, "There are a total of 12,782 comments asking whether to put it on the shelves for sale, and one-third of them are from customers who have made purchases in our store."
"What is the local price of this pomegranate, and what is the average price on Taobao?"
"Li Xiumei mentioned in the video that if they pick these pomegranates and sell them locally, they cost one yuan per jin. Taobao only sells large pomegranates, which range from five to nine yuan per jin. There is currently no information about small pomegranates in supermarkets," Tang Wen quickly provided detailed data.
Xu An had also heard Xu Heping mention this pomegranate; apart from being smaller, it was superior to the larger pomegranate in every other aspect.
A vague idea popped into Xu An's mind. He flicked the mouse with his right hand and quickly pulled up the report summarized by Xu Heping on the various cash crops grown in the villages around Hezibao.
Hezibao is planted with Sichuan pepper, Xiangyang Village with pomegranates, Hua'an Village with grapes, and Liaojia Village with tea plantations.
The photos show that these cash crops are planted over a vast area, covering an immense area. Just walking around them could consume a significant amount of livestream time. Then, you could talk to the local villagers about the background and reasons for planting these cash crops, and maybe even evoke some sympathy.
You can also use live streaming to show everyone the greenhouses and factories under construction, report on the progress, and so on. With so much content, it's hard to keep the live stream under four hours.
