Summer, a time filled with wonders, has become the summer of the Xia tribe...

Summer, a time filled with wonders, has become the summer of the Xia tribe...

The third day after bringing back Sylph and the other elves.

Summer boats hoisted their sails and sailed on the ice-free river. The boats were too small to accommodate all the orcs, carrying only Xia's orcs and a few weasel orcs who had volunteered to board.

The land-based team waved to Jiang Yunlan from the riverbank, watched the fleet leave the riverbank, then shouldered their packs and embarked on their journey to the Xia tribe.

A group of Xia's orcs escorted the orcs who hadn't boarded the ship, with two wind sprites floating beside them. Iloven, worried about his entire tribe following the land-based group led by Duoci, voluntarily stayed on the ground to travel with them.

Duoci thought about it for a long time while Lan was away before agreeing to go and see the Xia tribe.

Only twenty-nine hedgehog beastmen survived this snow season, and only twenty-two deer beastmen remained. Together, they numbered less than half of the weasel beastman clan, and even fewer than the beastmen she and Qiu Manzhi had taken away from the forest.

For a clan of twenty-odd orcs to survive, the best option is to join another clan of their own. However, a clan with fifty-one orcs can only establish itself and slowly develop in one place. Even if this clan has twenty cubs, the number of cubs almost equals half the clan's population.

Dori knew she still had a chance to rebuild her clan. However, since learning of the wind beast's appearance and leading her clan and Qiu Manzhi away from the forest, she had experienced and lost too much.

All she wanted was to live on with her fifty-one people; she asked for nothing more.

If she settled in the Xia tribe, her people would no longer have to face such harsh living conditions. She was more than willing to bring her entire clan to join Xia, even if it meant death. Her only worry was whether Xia was really as good as the Xia beastmen claimed.

Duoci hesitated, deciding to see Xia with her own eyes first before considering whether to stay in Xia's tribe.

She approached the Xia tribe with utmost caution, and occasionally, during the journey, she couldn't help but doubt whether her choice was correct.

All her worries vanished the moment she stepped into the Xia tribe.

Dori's eyes widened, and she exclaimed "Wow!" involuntarily, dizzy, "So many orcs!"

Behind her, the dusty-faced deer-beastmen and hedgehog-beastmen were also shocked by the scene before them, their expressions mirroring hers.

"There are so many houses, and they look so beautiful!" The orc, seeing the Xia tribe for the first time, exclaimed in a rustic voice.

Bai Youfeng was amazed to see the wild beasts the orcs were leading. These beasts, large and small, were incredibly obedient, carrying their belongings and following the orcs. Some even handed items to the orcs on their behalf.

Are these... are these still the beasts he knows?

He couldn't help but open his mouth wide as he heard Bai Youyouge's enthusiastic praise beside him.

"Chief! The Xia tribe is better than any other clan or tribe we've ever seen!" Including that Tianqi tribe. Bai Youyouge silently stomped on the Tianqi tribe in his heart, thinking it was inferior to Xia.

No house in the Tianqi tribe is as tall as the tower at the entrance of the Xia tribe. The ground in the Tianqi tribe is also not as smooth or clean as the ground in Xia. And the clothing in Tianqi is not as beautiful as that in Xia.

The more Bai Youyouge compared them, the more he felt that the orcs of Apocalypse weren't that powerful. He looked longingly at the food that was clearly made by Xia, swallowed hard, and added in his mind, "Xia's orcs can just pull out food and eat it whenever they want, but not all of Tianqi's orcs can suddenly produce a piece of food to eat."

The weasel beastmen standing at the gate of the Xia tribe were dazzled, looking around as their eyes followed the sights of things they had never seen before.

Grasien sat on Ilovian's shoulders, his left hand supporting Ilovian's head, his right hand pointing to familiar objects and explaining their uses. Ilovian gripped his legs firmly, his body turning around with his movements, his eyes filled with curiosity.

The wolf-like beastmen who escorted Duoci and the others also spoke proudly of the things Xia had created.

Although they had been away from the tribe for three seasons, many new things had appeared, the orcs of whom didn't understand their purpose, such as the two parallel protrusions on the ground. However, they could skip over these explanations and pretend they were things left for the new orcs to explore on their own, hehe.

Wolf-like orcs, who maintained their imposing image through an air of mystery, held their heads high and chests out.

Duoci opened her bright, sparkling eyes and listened while turning to what Lang An was talking about.

Suddenly, a gentle breeze swept across the sky. She felt the gentle breeze blowing towards her and subconsciously looked up at the clear sky.

Jiang Yunlan stood in mid-air, looking down at them. When their eyes met, she smiled and said, "Welcome to the Xia Tribe. This is the Xia's grassland habitat."

Different spirits surrounded Lan. She saw Lan approach them with a bright smile.

A gentle breeze parted to make way for all the orcs, stopping at Lan's feet to protect her as she landed. The wind ruffled Lan's hair upon landing, then subsided after two seconds.

The orcs near Jiang Yunlan felt no discomfort whatsoever. The orcs like Duoci didn't understand the extent of Lan's control over the wind; their minds were already filled with the image of Lan's appearance, their gazes fixed on her, unable to look away for a long time.

Jiang Yunlan didn't hear their voices. She turned her head in confusion and looked at each of the orcs in front of her. The orcs' eyes were bright. She was already used to being stared at like this and didn't realize that their excitement was because of her appearance just now.

“Xia has prepared empty rooms for you. I’ll take you to put your luggage away first. But you’ll have to wait a little while, as the bus to pick us up hasn’t arrived yet.” As she spoke, she held onto Sylph and the others who were clinging to her.

Dori noticed that she didn't even look at Sylph and the others when she caught them as they nearly fell.

So skilled. How many times have the elves done this to make Lan so adept? Dori blinked, picking up where Lan left off, her voice blank, "A bus?"

Greysien perked up his ears, stopped talking, and stared at Lan. He remembered that when he left the tribe, there were no buses.

"You could think of it as a vehicle with seats? Similar to a beast-drawn carriage," Jiang Yunlan replied confidently.

Xia's orcs understood. They knew what an animal-drawn cart was. Wasn't this the kind of vehicle the caravans often used for outings? Wolf An and the other orcs, confident in their abilities, were about to demonstrate the appearance of the animal-drawn cart to Duo Ci and the others when they heard the sound of the cart turning.

The sound was quite different from that of a beast-drawn cart. They looked over in confusion, their expressions blank.

Animals resembling horned rhinoceroses pulled long, square, six-wheeled carts with seats, running along the tracks and stopping precisely in front of them. The cart driver stepped out, holding the reins, and tied two reins to either side of the tracks.

"The train has arrived at the station, please get on." The beast-riding captain opened the door and looked towards where You Lan was, smiling gently.

Jiang Yunlan returned the smile and waited for the beastmen beside her to float dizzily into the vehicles before getting into the last one and sitting down. She had instructed the beast drivers to carefully calculate the seating arrangement in the vehicles before they arrived, so that no beast would be unable to get in.

The buses, still undergoing trial operation, moved steadily forward, traveling along the tracks.

The orcs sat in their seats, either secretly peeking out of the open windows or openly huddled together by the windows.

"Wow, that's amazing! Although it's not as fast as our sprint, it's so much fun!" The orcs exclaimed, their eyes sparkling.

The beastmen who arrived in Xia for the first time felt the same emotions as they looked at the streets of Xia.

I want to stay in Xia, to live in this place full of magical things.

-----------------------

Author's Note: The purpose of the tracks is to fix the direction of buses. To some extent, they also serve as a warning of impending danger, reminding pedestrian orcs to watch out for the vehicles.

Xia's habitat doesn't yet have horse-drawn carriages; the only public transportation currently in trial operation is buses (mainly used to transport tired orcs). After all, the speed of the vehicles Xia can develop isn't even as fast as the sprint speed of many orc races (whispering).

Animal-drawn carts are mostly flatbed carts or freight cars, and can also carry orcs. They are the closest vehicles to "horse-drawn carriages" in function, but most orcs do not ride in them in their habitats.

After much thought, I realized that in Lan's era, Lan indeed wouldn't advance technology to the electrical age, and might not even have a steam age. This is because the current environment of the Beast World doesn't allow it; it's too fragile and can't withstand too much pollution.
