The wind spirit Sylph has become the summer of the Summer Tribe, and will welcome...
After taking medicine for several days, the sick deer-beastman and hedgehog-beastman have mostly recovered. They can run, jump, and transform into their beast forms again. Unlike before, when they would almost collapse after walking only a few steps.
This was something to be happy about. Their chieftain, the hedgehog orc Duoci, was also very happy, but as she smiled, a look of confusion appeared in her eyes.
Her close friend, Qiu Manzhi, the chieftain of the Deer-Beastmen, had passed away, and Ilovian was also preparing to leave with Xia's tribe. Without Ilovian's protection, there would be even more wild beasts here than before, making it unsuitable for her clan, which had suffered heavy losses. So, would it be better for her and the Deer-Beastmen and Hedgehog-Beastmen behind her to go elsewhere, or to follow Xia's tribe?
Xia's orcs were kind and visibly powerful. She could feel Xia's kindness and care, but she had only spent a few days with Xia's orcs and couldn't make up her mind.
Bathed in moonlight, Duoci sat on the ground, hugging her knees, her gaze unconsciously following Jiang Yunlan by the campfire. She remembered Jiang Yunlan's invitation not long ago.
Would you like to come to the Xia tribe?
She hesitated, not answering immediately. The squirrel-beastman standing before her seemed to understand her hesitation, and smiled as he said, "Tell me your answer when I return with half of my people."
Xia's team must continue their advance.
Greysia and Freya didn't go with them; they stayed behind with Wolf Ann and the other orcs, discreetly observing the Weasel orc clan. Most of the Weasel orcs didn't sense anything amiss; they simply found the orcs from Xia friendly and helpful.
Until the fifth day that Lan led the team out.
A weasel-like beastman looked around, then slipped away under the pretense of going to the toilet, blowing a bone whistle hidden in its hair.
A carrier bird that had been wandering nearby flew over and landed on his shoulder. He carefully took out a letter that he had secretly prepared, avoiding the other orcs, tied a piece of animal skin no bigger than his palm to the carrier bird's leg, and carefully released the bird, keeping a watchful eye on his surroundings throughout.
There was no danger in the quiet surroundings. He watched the carrier bird fly away into the distance and breathed a sigh of relief, but his vision blurred the moment he turned around.
He fell to the ground, the familiar scent of earth wafting through his nostrils. Before his brain could process what was happening, he had already spotted the white, wind-swept figure in his field of vision.
“When Lan told me she suspected there was a spy in our clan, I didn’t believe her at first. But I never expected to see you sneaking away from us to hunt small prey on your own,” Bai Youfengtuan’s voice was sad, but even more so, disappointed. “What did they promise you? Those benefits were enough to make you betray your own clan.”
The weasel-like beastman was pinned to the ground by Xia's beastmen, barely managing to lift his face to look at his distressed chieftain.
The sound of wings flapping through the air rang out, and the humanoid Ilov landed, clutching the fleeing messenger bird. The weasel beastman knew he couldn't escape and resigned himself to being interrogated.
They successfully captured the undercover agent who had patiently remained hidden for several days, and Jiang Yunlan, who was out and about, also encountered the Wind Spirit.
The wind sprite lived in a leaf, and lightly leaped onto Jiang Yunlan's head on the wind. 022 saw it coming and moved aside to make room for it to land.
"I heard your voices from far away. You want to see me? If not, I'm going back to play." The wind sprite Sylph lay down next to 022, her tone helpless, like an elder accommodating a junior, but the words she uttered sounded more like those of an unreliable junior.
Upon hearing its inquiry, Jiang Yunlan briefly outlined her purpose: "We have discovered an orc tribe that plunders the lives of nature spirits and oppresses other orcs. I request your help, Xia, to help us eliminate that orc tribe called Apocalypse."
“That organization did indeed appear,” it sighed, its voice unusually firm as it spoke again, “Orc, I grant your request.”
"Huh? You knew they would show up all along?" Jiang Yunlan was shocked.
She had always believed that the Apocalypse Tribe was able to thrive because no elves knew what they were doing.
Sylph responded, her voice so calm it was devoid of emotion, "I've encountered similar orcs before. But back then, I only met a few orcs who craved power, and I couldn't find their dwelling place."
"I've been waiting here for them to reappear. I never expected that I would be greeted by Sveta and you, whom I haven't seen in so long, first." It said this with great emotion.
Sveta and Jiang Yunlan's group were stunned, completely unaware of what was happening.
Sylph chuckled and stirred up a gust of wind, which carried her back into the air, her body surrounded by different natural spirits.
The whistling wind brushed past Jiang Yunlan's ears and lifted the hem of her clothes. She unconsciously opened her eyes wide, belatedly realizing that the elves were already prepared to retaliate.
“Now, it’s our turn,” the elves said.
...
Jiang Yunlan led the elves back to Ilovian's residence.
Seeing Lan return, Greysien raised her paw and counted the seven new nature spirits hanging on her, asking with great confusion, "Aren't you tired?"
All the elves that returned with the team were with her.
“I didn’t feel tired; they were very light,” she said.
As for why the elves were all clinging to her, it all started on the day she brought them back. That day, the group was about to return home, and Sylph wobbled back onto her head.
A water sprite followed Sylph's footsteps and floated to her shoulder to lie down. The remaining four wind sprites and one wood sprite seemed to find this amusing, stacking themselves on top of her head and shoulders like a game of stacking. Finally, unable to bear it any longer and worried that they would fall to the ground, she moved the nature sprites from her shoulder to her arms and cradled them in her bosom.
Jiang Yunlan, who had inexplicably become the fairy climbing frame, was quite helpless, but her whole body exuded an aura of tolerance.
She calmly led the elves, who often flew on the wind, back on their journey, a few doubts creeping into her heart. Elves could move by harnessing the power of nature, and Sveta, as a forest elf, could also move freely without a guardian.
So why did Sveta wait for the orcs to appear in the same spot?
Jiang Yunlan watched as Sylph and the other elves ran off to play in mid-air, and asked the question that had been bothering her.
"Because it's too cumbersome for them to move around on their own. They can't go to places without plants, and they're very slow and consume a lot of energy. Elves other than wind spirits rarely move around on their own," Sveta laughed heartily.
“Sylph and the others can stay in the same area and run around, but they will never accept being forced to settle down in one place.”
As Jiang Yunlan listened to its reply, the words Sylph had spoken during their journey flashed through her mind.
The nature spirits I initially sought were my kindred spirits. They're all creatures who love to wander, but since they're of the same origin, I knew where they'd go to play. So when I found only four of them after searching for a while, I was quite surprised.
My kindred spirits have become so hard to find.
Despite the calm tone of her voice, Jiang Yunlan almost couldn't help but take a few steps back. She was certain that Sylph was absolutely convinced that the orcs of the Apocalypse Tribe had abducted many wind spirits.
The wind sprite, who loves to wander, has a very high chance of accidentally bumping into the Apocalypse Tribe.
The thought of Sylph's difficulty in finding kindred spirits made Jiang Yunlan worry about the fire spirits, earth spirits, and ice spirits. She remembered Sveta saying that it rarely saw these three types of spirits.
How are the rarely seen elves doing these days?

Author's Note: A month has passed, and my writer's block still hasn't improved. However, while writing this chapter, I think I had an epiphany, but I'm not sure, I'll check again. Since I can't go back to a six-day work week, I'll continue with one update every three days. (No promises made that I can't keep.jpg)
