Chapter 24 A surprising leap (new book please collect)

As the schedule indicated by Zhuyouzai was approaching, the filming of the entire drama progressed very quickly, taking less than two months. It was not because Wu Changyun himself was fast in scheduling. All Hong Kong film companies are very fast now. Shooting a film every two months is considered slow. Many movie actors revealed that shooting more than a dozen films a year is the norm.

Today was the day we were shooting the final scene, and everyone on the set surrounded Wu Changyun and tried to persuade him.

"Director Wu, let's forget about this scene. I've asked the safety team, and if we want to achieve the realism you're after, we might not be able to do it on the ropes."

"Yes, Director Wu, this is a matter of life and death."

Wu Changyun looked at everyone, pushed them away and ran to the side to smoke a cigarette. It had been a long time since he quit smoking after becoming an actor.

Seeing that no one could persuade Wu Changyun, everyone invited his good brother Fu Shun to come over. Fu Shun learned what had happened and ran over with a serious face and scolded him, "Are you crazy? Are you going to die?"

"Do you think this is not difficult and you can do it? It's just jumping from the beam into the pool, but have you ever thought that if you make a mistake, breaking your leg is the least of your worries, you might even lose your life." Fushun clapped his hands in excitement.

"It's okay. Now that the story has developed to this point, I need a more thrilling and touching ending, you know? This movie may make history, but even now, I'm not sure if it can."

"So you can make history by jumping down? I think you don't want to make history, you want to make news." Fu Shun was very excited and yelled at Wu Changyun.

"No, it's necessary for the plot."

Seeing Wu Changyun was unmoved, Fushun calmed down and advised again: "You have already defeated the villain played by Huang Zhengli. The story is over and you can call it a day. Why do you still need to do this?"

"The villain played by Huang Zhengli is just a high-level thug, and the mastermind behind the scenes is even Japanese, with guns."

Wu Changyun, a bit exasperated, straightened his costume, pushed Fushun aside, climbed onto the roof beam, and ordered the actors to take their positions. No matter how many people tried to dissuade him, Wu Changyun was still the boss on the set. Looking down at the people below, Wu Changyun truly understood the sheer fuss of his innovation. If he'd waited a few more years for the technology to mature, he could have easily installed an air cushion underneath. But now, he could only record a behind-the-scenes clip to demonstrate just how dangerous this scene was.

"Liuzi! I tell you, if anything happens to you, there will be no one to explain to the master and your family." Fushun yelled at the top of his voice.

This was one of the few times the two of them lost their temper. Wu Changyun, standing on the beam, looked at the pool diagonally below. Theoretically, he could do it. First, the Japanese below would shoot at him, and then the gunpowder embedded in the beam at his feet would explode. After the explosion, he would aim at the pool and jump in.

The security team added a slide rail to the beam of the house. The pulley of the slide rail was connected to a steel cable and tied to Wu Changyun's waist. When he jumped, the steel cable slid in the direction of his jump. However, this did not provide much safety, because the security team could not catch the slightest deviation in time. This thing would only be useful when a major mistake occurred.

Wu Changyun took a deep breath, and everyone present was worried for him. Even the staff who had little to do with the movie didn't want to see an accident happen in the theater.

Fushun held the necklace he had just bought and kept muttering to himself. Although he was an out-and-out atheist, he also hoped that the gods would bless Wu Changyun.

Seeing that no one made a decision, Wu Changyun shouted, "Action."

The stage manager holding the clapperboard hits the clapperboard in front of the camera, officially starting the filming.

With two gunshots, the gunpowder at Wu Changyun's feet exploded, and the Japanese below shouted, "Baga Yalu!" while firing.

Wu Changyun looked at the thugs on the beams, then looked at the pool below. A close-up of their faces was shown, and then Wu Changyun made up his mind to jump.

Wu Changyun had already prepared himself mentally for this jump. He had only one thought in his mind: don't be afraid whether he was injured and hospitalized, or even broke his leg.

With a "splash" sound, countless splashes of water were raised, and Wu Changyun dived into the pool. The cameraman and two assistants soaked in the sea water to film Wu Changyun. After entering the water, Wu Changyun first untied the steel cable on his waist. When everyone saw Wu Changyun dive into the water, the stone in their hearts just fell to the ground, but then they became worried about Wu Changyun's physical condition. Everyone was waiting for Wu Changyun to emerge from the water.

Wu Changyun suddenly straightened himself up from the pool. His nose was still bleeding from the impact. Du Qifeng stood by anxiously, waving his hands and feet, afraid that he would forget what to do next. Wu Changyun was soaked to the skin and ran towards the Japanese man with domineering attitude. The Japanese man saw Wu Changyun and anxiously loaded bullets into his gun. When he raised his head, Wu Changyun punched him to the ground. Wu Changyun grabbed the rifle and held the Japanese hostage, shouting, "Don't move, or I'll shoot you."

The police then arrive and find the thugs in the hold held hostage by Wu Changyun, the mastermind apprehended, and the villain, played by Huang Zhengli, beaten half to death. When the dust settles, the protagonist hands the Japanese over to the police.

Du Qifeng excitedly shouted "Ka!" and there was applause and cheers from the audience.

"good!"

"marvelous!"

Huang Bingyao was the first to come over and support Wu Changyun. He said, "I didn't expect that. I always thought that the content in the script would definitely be deleted or revised. After all, it was too dangerous. I didn't expect that you are much crazier than me."

Wu Changyun smiled wryly and sat aside, the blood still pouring from his nose. A staff member brought a towel and helped relieve the pressure on his ears. Wu Changyun replied nonchalantly to Du Qifeng who came over to greet him, "I'm fine. How are you? Did you pass that one?"

"Pass! Of course I passed." Du Qifeng nodded excitedly.

"That's fine, but come again."

"It's passed, it's passed."

Wu Changyun nodded, and had no intention of checking the film just now.

"You are so awesome, it would be a shame if this movie doesn't become popular." Fushun changed his attitude and now he only felt admiration.

"It's okay, it's not difficult, you can do it if you want."

Fushun smiled. Perhaps the whole process did not require any extraordinary skills or physical strength, but he was against such a crazy thing from the bottom of his heart. However, staying with Wu Changyun made him see his passion for making movies.
