Chapter 190 The Raiders

The result was a huge disappointment to him; the entire club had been emptied, and the warehouse was cleaner than if a dog had licked it clean.

Bandits! Robbers! Is there no justice left?!

Seeing the empty warehouse, Meng Ziyi flew into a rage on the spot.

Feeling extremely angry, he opened the room where the woman had been imprisoned.

Of course, the place is now deserted.

In the apocalypse, women are a resource, and a non-renewable one at that. How could anyone possibly stay behind?

You may be smart, but others aren't stupid!

Seeing this, he felt his anger flare up even more!

Unfortunately, no one could help him cool down, so he could only helplessly pull out a stack of cards from his pocket.

I selected a mineral water card and materialized it.

After a few sips of cold mineral water, his anger finally subsided considerably, and reason finally regained its advantage.

Getting angry now won't help; we can only think of a solution.

Thinking of this, he had an idea.

He found a reasonably intact chair and sat down, carefully taking something out of his pocket.

This is a palm-sized statue made of pure gold.

The statue, though small, is very lifelike, depicting a beautiful woman seated on a large serpent.

Although the woman was beautiful, Meng Ziyi had no intention of profaning her.

Instead, he wiped the table clean with his sleeve before carefully placing the statue on it.

His patient demeanor made it seem as if he were not a statue but his beloved girl.

After placing the statue, he knelt in front of it and muttered something under his breath.

The obscure and difficult words that came out of his mouth seemed to possess a strange magic.

After the words were read aloud, the light in the room dimmed slightly.

But Meng Ziyi dared not look up, his head pounded on the ground, barely daring to breathe.

If his subordinates were to see this, they would probably be so astonished that their jaws would drop, as the dignified leader of the Raiders Alliance was actually kneeling before an unknown statue.

I don't know how much time passed, but the light grew dimmer and dimmer, as if the room had shut out all light.

Meng Ziyi's back was completely soaked, and cold sweat dripped down his forehead and onto the ground, slowly forming a small puddle.

He didn't dare to move an inch, letting the sweat mixed with the dirt soak his face.

Just as Meng Ziyi was feeling depressed, the light in the room returned.

A woman dressed in black sat on a chair next to the statue.

Her appearance was exactly the same as the statue on the table, except that there was no large snake beside her.

"Look at your disheveled appearance, it's truly an eyesore!" The woman's casual remark sent a chill down Meng Ziyi's spine.

His former eloquence had vanished; his mind was blank as he knelt on the ground, too afraid to move.

From his perspective, all he could see were the woman's feet in black high heels.

Fortunately, the woman didn't dwell on such a trivial matter and asked him why he had woken her up.

Meng Ziyi recounted the people he had met that day to her, then shamelessly begged for help.

"Help? Oh ho ho ho, you still have the nerve to ask for help?" The woman's voice was unreadable, but Meng Ziyi could hear the disappointment in it.

"This city was once filled with hellfire. Does it count as me helping you carve out a safe place? Does it count as me helping you by dominating and controlling the entire city?"

"You have all the resources, equipment, and manpower you need, yet you've been defeated by one person. Do you still dare to ask for help?"

"I think you're nothing special, you're just wasting my time."

"If you can't even handle this mess, there's no point in keeping you around!" The woman changed the subject and said to Meng Ziyi with a smile.

Seeing Meng Ziyi trembling on the spot, the woman nodded in satisfaction.

With his right hand, he easily distorted space and took out a crystal bottle.

The bottle contained some dark green liquid, which didn't look like a healthy drink.

"Drink it, and you will get the power you want!" The woman paused and said with a smile, but Meng Ziyi could hear the murderous intent hidden in her words.

With a heart full of trepidation, he crawled to the table, where the medicine lay quietly.

Meng Ziyi didn't dare to look up at the woman; he had only glanced at her out of curiosity the last time.

If the woman hadn't deliberately suppressed her gaze, that one look would have cost him his life.

Meng Ziyi was suffering in his heart. Although he did not have great abilities, he did not miss the tribute he had to hand over every week.

Now that things have come to this, the only way to win her favor again is to fight tooth and nail.

Meng Ziyi picked up the bottle with both hands, unscrewed the cap, and drank it all in one gulp.

The medicine tasted very bitter, and his brows furrowed deeply.

My stomach felt like it was churning, and a fiery current was surging through my internal organs.

But the thought of gaining the power he craved made him suppress the discomfort in his stomach and try his best to digest the medicine.

In no time, his body swelled up like an expanding balloon, and all his clothes were torn apart by his suddenly enlarged body, falling to the side in strips.

Meng Ziyi had a bad feeling; this was not what he had expected.

But the excruciating pain shot straight to his brain, and the intense pain caused him to faint.

Although he had lost consciousness, the changes within his body continued, reorganizing Meng Ziyi's limbs.

After the final changes were completed, the former Meng Ziyi had disappeared, replaced by a complete monster.

It was like a small mountain, with its upper and lower limbs swollen several times their original size, but its head remained the size of an adult.

With only a few sparse strands of hair clinging to his scalp, he paced back and forth in the room, drooling.

"Tsk tsk tsk, it seems the potion failed again. The creatures on Earth are really fragile." The woman said regretfully, looking at the monster in front of her. However, her expression did not show regret, but rather more interest.

"Let's use you to test their ability to modify soldiers."

It heard voices coming from inside the house and quickly rushed towards the direction of the sound.

"Insolence!" As soon as the woman finished speaking, the space in front of it distorted, imprisoning it like a cage.

No matter how much it twisted and turned, the spatial cage remained unbreakable.

"You have no use for your soul, so offer it up!" As the woman finished speaking, a purple mist emanated from its features and flowed into the woman's hand.

The smoke kept changing shape, piecing together the original image of Meng Ziyi, and finally turning into a purple rhombus-shaped crystal that condensed in the woman's hand.

After obtaining its soul fragment, the woman seemed to lose interest in it and waved her hand dismissively.

An invisible force sent it flying, until it crashed through the courtyard wall before coming to a stop.

"I look forward to seeing how you do." The woman's lips curled slightly as she watched it stumble to its feet in the yard.

The space began to distort again, and in an instant, the space in front of her was torn apart. She stepped into this space and disappeared.

After she disappeared, the statue on the table slumped down on the surface like a melted candle.

After standing up in the yard, it ran back into the house. After a violent shaking, it smashed a large hole in the wall of the room.

The woman inside the house had disappeared. After searching for a while without success, it smashed all the furnishings in the house before coming out of the hole.

Upon exiting the building, it caught a whiff of fragrance and headed towards the direction from which it found itself in the same courtyard it had been in before.
