Chapter 22: Orcs surprise attack, the Marquis hurriedly sets out

As the news of the Earl's return to the Sword Oath City spread, the entire city seemed to have unloaded a heavy burden, and the residents in the city felt much more relaxed.

On the other side, in the Orc Kingdom, the Orc Commander Coulson was furious and scolded the two legion commanders. Do you know what a reorganized extraordinary legion means to the kingdom?

"That was built at the expense of the kingdom, a vast sum of gold and manpower. I told you to join, so why aren't you?" One of the orc legion leaders said, "Wildfang wouldn't let us join. He said the Tenth Legion was crippled, their Count was gravely wounded and dying, and no longer a concern. So, he led the legion alone to hunt them down. We didn't expect the human knights would have two more Golden Knights." He then looked at Commander Coulson with an innocent look.

Coulson took a deep breath and waved his hand, signaling the two legion commanders to withdraw. After they left, Coulson turned on the communication crystal and reported the situation to the Orc King.

As expected, the Orc King delivered a stern rebuke from the other end of the line: "Coulson, as the commander of the Legion, it's not enough that you lack strength, but don't you have any brains?" Then, the Orc King added, "Listen, the agreement with the Dwarf Kingdom of Gondor expires in six months. No matter what, we must seize enough gold and supplies!"

After hanging up the call, Coulson slumped in his chair, brow furrowed, lost in thought. No way. Reinforcements from the human kingdom would arrive in a few days. We had to act quickly. He slowly stood up and walked over to the massive military map, his gaze fixed on the Fallen Autumn Mountains near the Sword Oath City. After a moment's deliberation, he decisively ordered the immediate recall of the two legion commanders.

After the two hurried over, Coulson looked at one of the legion commanders, Fury, and said in a deep voice, "Fury, follow me and take a detour through the Fallen Autumn Mountains. We have no choice but to take this risky tactic."

Then, he looked at the other legion commander and ordered, "You lead the extraordinary legion and several ordinary legions to feint an attack on the Sword of Promise City. Then, you will be stationed around the Sword of Promise City, pretending to attack, and mobilize from time to time. If everything goes well, you can return in half a month.

After saying that, he led the Fury Legion to the Luoqiu Mountains. Although they were all extraordinary orcs, there were many dangers in the mountains, including many golden-strength monsters and tricky monster groups.

After crossing the Luoluoqiu Mountains, the number of orc troops was reduced by nearly 500 to 600. However, they also found a relatively safe mountain road.

Standing on the mountain, Coulson looked down at Luoqiu Town below. He didn't order a looting operation, fearing leaks and potential losses. He also avoided a conflict with the Earldom's Golden Knights, which would have delayed their plans. He then led his team around Luoqiu Town's rear and headed towards a Viscountdom.

During a routine patrol, a small group of knights from the Viscount's territory suddenly discovered these uninvited guests—orcs. The knights were shocked, having never expected orcs to appear in the northern borders. Without delay, they immediately turned their horses and galloped towards the Viscount's castle, ready to inform everyone there of the emergency.

However, the orcs soon discovered the patrolling knight squad. Several silver captains roared and charged towards the knight squad like arrows from a bowstring. The knights whipped their whips furiously, urging their wildebeests to hurry, their only hope being to return to the Viscount's Castle before the orcs.

But they were horrified to discover that the orcs were running at an incredible speed, catching up with them in a flash. After a fierce battle, the knight squad was completely wiped out.

Afterwards, the orc army raided the Viscount's territory without hesitation. Wherever they came across a village, they launched a bloody massacre, burning, killing, looting and committing all kinds of atrocities.

They raged all the way and even killed their way to the Viscount Castle. At this time, the Viscount had taken away the only knight group in the city because of the coalition forces. Now there were only a few squads of knights and some ordinary soldiers in the Viscount Castle. Faced with the tough offensive of the orcs, the defense of the Viscount Castle was quickly broken, and only a small number of knights retreated to the Viscount Castle.

Inside the castle, the Viscountess was extremely anxious. On the one hand, she hurriedly conveyed the news that the orcs were about to break through the castle to the Viscount through the communication crystal. On the other hand, she asked the remaining knights to take the Viscount's family members away through the secret passage.

The viscount, who was far away in the coalition camp, learned that his castle had fallen under the attack of the orcs. He was filled with grief and unwillingness, but he could do nothing.

He suppressed the urge to rush back to rescue, knowing that only with the help of a stronger force could he possibly save the situation. So, the Viscount headed for Marquis Roderick's tent without stopping.

Upon hearing the Viscount's urgent report, the Marquis's face suddenly changed, subconsciously believing that the Sword Oath City had been breached. He hurriedly took out his communication crystal and asked Earl White for the situation.

The Marquis breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that Earl White was safe and sound. However, the news of the orcs' raid on the Viscount's territory undoubtedly sounded the alarm for the coalition's preparations.

Realizing the urgency of the situation, the Marquis immediately decided to expedite the coalition's mobilization. He issued a directive to all parties: "If we don't arrive by tomorrow morning, we will not wait any longer. The army will march immediately!"

For a moment, the coalition camp was bustling with activity. Soldiers were busy organizing their equipment, while nobles were urgently discussing marching strategies. The entire camp was filled with a tense atmosphere of an impending war.

Here, Coulson, having tasted the sweetness of success, immediately ordered the orcs to transport the looted money and supplies back to Frost Zero Pass via the Fallen Autumn Mountains. He planned to continue the looting while the other nobles were still unaware.

When the powerful nobles of the various fiefdoms outside Dragon's Teeth Pass in the North learned that orcs had bypassed the Sword's Oath City and penetrated the rear to loot, panic ensued. They urgently requested Marquis Rodrik to dispatch troops immediately, without even a moment's delay.

Under intense pressure from the nobles, the Marquis reluctantly ordered his army to march that afternoon, attacking the orcs who were burning, killing, and looting throughout the territory. However, due to the hasty nature of the operation, the Marquis was only able to assemble twelve knights.

To make matters worse, the knights' personnel and equipment varied widely, and their command structures were in disarray. The Marquis had originally planned to wait until the coalition forces were fully assembled before making unified plans and arrangements, but with the orcs rampaging and the situation dire, he had no choice but to hastily issue personnel orders and hastily set out on the expedition.

Just as the coalition forces were setting out, another piece of bad news arrived - a barony's territory was looted, all the property was plundered, and the civilians were slaughtered.

After hearing this, the Marquis's face became solemn, and his heart was filled with anger and anxiety. He could only suppress his emotions and order the coalition forces to speed up their march, striving to catch up with and destroy the orcs as soon as possible.

On the way, the Marquis contacted Earl White through the communication crystal, hoping that he would dispatch the knights from his direction to launch a two-pronged attack. However, after receiving Karen's detailed report, Earl White reluctantly replied that there were only six knight orders capable of being deployed to the battlefield at any time, and that was with the addition of the Royal Tenth Legion.

Moreover, traces of the orc army have been discovered outside the Sword Oath City, and the defense line is under tremendous pressure. He has done his best to barely hold on and is really unable to provide support.
